CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I've been thinking about this because my son had a really great math teacher this year. Mr. Akporji. And I realized how grateful I am that he had the opportunity to have a teacher that inspired him the way I had.
My favorite teacher would have to have been Mr. Kastle, who was my 7th grade math teacher.
1. He was funny in a very down to earth, kind way
2. I never saw him lose his temper even once
3. He was encouraging. He never made anyone feel stupid for not understanding something.
4. He made me feel excited about math
5. He helped me to see that math is built in to the fabric of everything in this world
Name 5 decisions you would change if you could go back in time.

Considering that I am content in life where I am and realizing that things would not be this way had I made other choices I'd have to say nothing. But in the spirit of the game and in theory here are a few things:
1. I'd have made plans to go to college right out of high school
2. Should have picked a major and stuck with it
3. Probably would have bought a house in a different community
4. Should have asked for more help in planning my wedding
5. Should have let my daughter go to age-4 kindergarten
