  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

No can do --- just like I can't prove the U.S. Constitution.

That's why I take them on faith --- like I'm sure you do.
actually people wrote letters at that time, so no i don't need to take it on faith. You would do well to read some history.
You were there?
in a manner of speaking

No, it doesn't.

The Epic of Gilgamesh was written in an empire started by Noah's great-grandson.

LOL evidence? no circular logic please.

I never talked about what it is. I mentioned what it was, before being reduced. That was a time when it became clear to me that there is no justice in the world, and certainly not the US.

LOL the guy steals millions of dollars 40 some counts of fraud and you think theirs no justice? Your just upset because the heros that trumpet your theology are criminals and hypocrites. it should tell you something.

You want specifics that you'll ignore anyway? lol Nope; not gonna give you the pleasue of wasting any more of my time that you've already devoured with meaningless rhetoric and empty knowledge.
No. I want the source for your claims. Cut the you know what.

Just because I called the euro settlers white doesnt make me racist. lol
It wasn't the white thing that made me think you were slurring them.

You wouldnt believe truth if it kidnapped your dignity and sold it to charity. Read "Keepers of the Game" for some good examples.
No. Dignity is protected from kidnappers. Try, not playinng a game, and citing sources for claims.

Coming from the guy who hates education. lol Didnt you call school just a...oh, heck,, I dont know, but it was clear that you disapprove of education itself.
Not knowedge, godly education, and learning. Just the mental and spiritual asault on innocent minds, that offends faith, and reason, and all that is good and decent in the world..

And some made lives out of exploiting indians here and there.
Some..people. Not missionaries that were sincere.

theres your opinions of education! Well if you believe you know what is best for everyone, you should run for school board. (~prays this never happens~)
What is best for everyone id to fire the school board!

Coming from the guy who said "The evidence of spirits are nil" and then "the evidence mounts" within the same paragraph. lol Sorry son, you're the one in need of a reality check.
In this state, for your information, spirits are separate. In the pre flood state, they walked, and kissed, and talked and mingled in the world of men. The knowledge of this spirit separate state does not include detecting spirits! Therfore, of course it is par for the different state course, to see that there is now no evidence of spirits. This is evidence we are in a physical only temporary state! If you need that broken down further for you, just ask.

Not gonna give it t'ya. Sure I can fax it t you, but I dont wanna give y'my fax number. =)

Then what? Stop saying I'm racist.

No. Dignity is protected from kidnappers. Try, not playinng a game, and citing sources for claims.

That you'll just ignore or refute with ridiculous unwarranted rants?

Not knowedge, godly education, and learning. Just the mental and spiritual asault on innocent minds, that offends faith, and reason, and all that is good and decent in the world..

All education is Godly. Oh, except the gibberish and deception against teaching evolution, descent with modification, etc. Terms like macroevolution and microevolution and ID, and IC, are lies and deception. I work against deception. Which is decent.

Some..people. Not missionaries that were sincere.

Many missionaries were not sincere; well, they might've been. But they could've just been ignorant. Many missionaries made money outside of the church; capitalism isn't inherantly good.

So you can't provide sources for us. Strange.

Then what? Stop saying I'm racist.
You say things here like this..."
The white euorpean settlers would trick native americans into thinking that the reason they were getting sick with smallpox was because of their godless and savage religion. The white priests would say "Hey, bow to our God, and you'll get better." And the natives would convert, and then the white europeans would give them medicine and the cure for those diseases, tricking them into thinking it was religion that cured them, when in reality, it was the white-man's disease that made the natives sick, and it was the white-mans manipulation and false promises that made them get better."

Missionaries like William Duncan provided safe haven for native slaves fleeing, giving impetus to the anti slave movement, and laws. He also kept out the whiskey traders. His colony, for example had among the lowest smallpox rates. Father Pierre De Smet, I think his name was, was called a 'black robe' The natives sent for him, realizing the white man's medicine was stronger, and wanted to learn about it. David Thompson refused to trade whiskey, though he was a fur trader. These are just a few examples of how not all white men can be tarred with your brush. It is not the skin color, but heart color that matters. Natives massacrered and did horrible things as well.

All education is Godly. Oh, except the gibberish and deception against teaching evolution, descent with modification, etc. Terms like macroevolution and microevolution and ID, and IC, are lies and deception. I work against deception. Which is decent.
Lurkers I will leave this for you to laugh at.

Many missionaries were not sincere; well, they might've been. But they could've just been ignorant. Many missionaries made money outside of the church; capitalism isn't inherantly good.
What does making money have to do with anything here?? Which missionaries, by the way got rich!!??? Source!!?

It is worse to rape and kill a child, I would think. Do they get 40 years? Did the enron execs get 40 years? Did Nixon get 40 years? Do lying politicians get that? Do governors that accept money for favors get that? Etc.. Every day we see people shot, and raped, and home invasions, and etc etc...do we see 40 year sentences often? No.

Some zealous preacher raises money for a Christian theme park, forgets to dot the i's and cross the t's, and give Ceasar all the blood money he demands, and he gets 40 years!

Yes, he should have been honest, and careful..etc. Hopefully he learned. But it still shows me there is no justice.

Of course there's no justice. Justice is an illusion. But Kent Hovind got what he deserved, no matter what happens to serial rapists. That's got nothing to do with this.

Think of it like this. You steal 10 dollars. that's not so bad. Now lets say you steal a million. how many years is that? Should their be a maximum sentience for stealing money? even if on multiple counts? If the sentience is too low more will risk everything to get the big one, relying on a weak sentience. In hovends case what happened was he got 41 or so (or something very close) counts. That's 41 crimes that added up. Its not like he committed 1 crime, he committed 41 crimes. lets say each crime was worth 6 years. now your looking at 246 years worth of crimes. (around the amount of years his maximum possible sentence was)
Do they get 40 years? did Kent?
NO he only got 10.
Did the enron execs get 40 years?
No some got more. some committed suicide, some died in prison. some got away but many were bright to justice.
Did Nixon get 40 years?
No but I really REALLY wish he would have. It would have been a good deterrent to Cheny and Bush not to break the law. They deserve the death penalty. They did so much worse then Nixon. If Nixon would have gotten 40, they would have really second guessed what they were doing.

Do lying politicians get that?
Do governors that accept money for favors get that?
yes (he may not have been a governor though) I can post a video of a governor equivalent who was convicted of essentially a life sentence due to corruption. he shot himself on live tv. Now we have a delay on live television. learn from history.

edit here is the video. Not for the squmish. His name is budd dwyer. http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=860c9b9f3b&p=1

You don't get 40 counts of fraud for forgetting your i's and t's HE STOLE MILLIONS OF DOLLARS. Its not a victimless crime. I'm glad the government sees that. Its a shame you cant see that.

Yes, he should have been honest, and careful..etc. Hopefully he learned. But it still shows me there is no justice.

Ditto for the Bible --- people wrote letters called "epistles" --- and yes, we have copies --- purified copies.

You see, those letters were written to us as well --- and God is the Postman.

And as they say, "Neither snow, nor rain, nor heat, nor gloom of night..."

I see. So as long as Christians 'get what they deserve' that is all that matters. OK.

Don't worry about the devil's children, and all the violent horrors of hell they gleefully inflict on the population. While the judges fiddle, and Rome burns.

I wonder if Hovind was fully aware of each of those so called counts? Didn't Obama appoint some guy that had not payed taxes to a high position? Maybe he should have pardoned Hovind, and appointed him? Justice, ehen not blind, is no justice at all.

And that rich New York guy accused of swinddling has to go to court with a bullet proof vest. Of course our sins catch up to us. I wonder if Hovind, or Baker were that sort of mafia type knowing crook, though? Or was it more like sloppy and over zealous, not realizing that wolves are running the country, and would spend a fortune to get them, and throw the book at them, if they could?

That depends on whether one believes that the laws, and justice, of a country are clear, and fair, and evenly applied. I don't know the details of these 40 counts, and you don't seem to either.

we don't know that he learned until he gets out of prison.
Yes, we do, if he is a believer. He will start to learn what he needs to learn in the way he needs to learn it.

Hovind was completely aware of what he did. Don't fool yourself.

He purposely deposited less than ten thousand dollars during his banking transactions to avoid reporting laws to the Feds. There is even an audio recording floating around where Kent intructs his son to "give" an RV to an aquientance in an attempt to hide assets from the IRS. He was proud of the fact that he did not have a 501c for his dinoland. He was completely uncooperative during the investigation and trial with the Feds.

He did more than forget to dot the i's and cross the t's as previously mentioned. He willfully and knowingly defrauded the IRS for many years, and is doing time because of it.

yes he was. That was the finding of the court. He willfully committed these acts. Its not a simply oops.

why don't you look it up and find out. you defend what you do not know.

12 counts of failure to pay taxes 45 counts of of structuring transactions in fdi institutions to avoid reporting taxes owed, 12 counts of failing to pay employee related taxes and 45 counts evading reporting requirements by making withdraws under 10,00 dollars. This is known as smurfing. obstruction and impediment of the irs.

I was wrong about the amount its more in the 500 thousand plus range rather then the a few million. IT still does not change that he committed many many small crimes willfully over and over. They just added up.

Yes, we do, if he is a believer. He will start to learn what he needs to learn in the way he needs to learn it.
The guy is a crook and a sleeze.

Oh, heavens, call the swat team. Giving an RV to a relative or friend, so as not to have to pay taxes! Wow, that guy was bad to the bone. I have heard that some people actually try to have their estate arranged in a certain way so that their kids actually get most of it rather than the government. Go get em! Have no mercy.

I think all ought to learn that it is not one happy family of man here. Christians ought to live like they are in enemy territory. Not relax, and act as if the government is some sort of Christian big brother. It is a raging, antichrist beast. Just looking for God's people, and innocent kids it may devour.

That may be the Hovind and Baker lesson. Come out from among them, and be ye seperate. Don't act as if this is God'c country. Walk through corn fields here, eating the corn, you may get shot.

He did more than forget to dot the i's and cross the t's as previously mentioned. He willfully and knowingly defrauded the IRS for many years, and is doing time because of it.
I never met anyone that didn't..? How many try to pay as little tax as possible? There is also the fine line, where churches don't pay taxes, so sometimes, perhaps it was a little grey.

I feel that we should try to be honest with all men. If we can't avoid taxes legally, then we pay them. So I think those that commit fraud should be punished.

In the case of Baker, it seemed that justice was applied selectively, and with some spit.

your still defending him, its funny. Do you defend all criminals or just the ones that further the political and social agenda of creationists?

I am one of the first who will say that decent is the greatest form of patriatisum. But calling the government the atichrist?

That may be the Hovind and Baker lesson. Come out from among them, and be ye seperate. Don't act as if this is God'c country. Walk through corn fields here, eating the corn, you may get shot.

sometimes, but not in this case, as dino land was not a church. we could simply change the law and take away tax except religions. make everything profit or non profit. That way we don't have guys trying to run a church and make a profit for themselves.

Ah, i love how when history inconveniently contradicts your agenda, you act like we had to be there to really know it happened, but when an ancient scroll found in the desert talks about a flood, it must be right. ^_^^_^^_^
