    Part 2.

How about you ? It just may be that you have been denied certain blessing when you really desire them so that you can be used by God to be a blessing to many people may be thousands.

The lesson that all of these people who suffered in being denied some earthy blessing were richly rewarded in the end.

God may be saying to you “I have chosen you to be an example to others, it will be painful now the sadness will turned into joy”.

For Ezekiel his reward was being blest by hearing and seeing visions of God and the future and of course having his name and a book written by him.
I see this truth in my own life. Yes it seems unfair, you could say “why couldn’t someone else be chosen instead of me” Well God knows best, and expect a real blessing!

Last point look at your suffering and ask God to show you a way that you can be a blessing to many people.

Good point John. There are so many ways we can bless the lives of others and many times it is through our own hardships that we are able to speak and reach out to them.

Thanks again for some food for thought. God bless

    Psa 31:7
I will rejoice and be glad in Your faithful love because You have seen my affliction You have known the troubles of my life and have not handed me over to the enemy
This is such a lovely verse that give so much hope and comfort. It shows to us how the Lord has pity on us and does not allow the enemy whether spiritual or natural to walk all over us. The Lord is with us and who ever hurts or trys to is hurting Jesus to!
I will REJOICE and give God thanks that He cares so much bout me.

    Part 1
Psalm 16:11 “You will make clear to me the way of life; where you are joy is complete; in your right hand there are pleasures for ever and ever”

People often say I will be happy “If” in other words their happiness is dependant upon someone or something else.
It could be a relationship, a job, money, acceptance, a better shape face! Etc.

But hey the great thing for us Christians is that we can be happy, BECAUSE and not IF.

We can be happy because we have Jesus.
He has given us the resources and ability to be happy just by him self alone.

We can be God dependant and not independent
Once we have learned to be happy with Jesus, then our relationship with our future partner will be greater and more wonderful because will not be dependant upon them.

It will surely produce a patient and more even and stable relationship.

This is in response to part 2 up above. I can't quote from this phone on this board in PDA mode.

It reminds me of what the apostles once said to Jesus. "This is a hard teaching." I am not saying you are wrong, just that it is hard to accept. But knowing me, I too would choose the cross. The cross is not taken up for our benefit. We are not directly blessed by taking it, instead we are among the highest form of servants. But it is a hard teaching. I know given my strengths and my caring that I would not want others to suffer the pain I know or have known. I have broad shoulders to take up my cross. There are time I wish I could really let other know my pain, but then I think it would be cruel of me.

I may respond to that last post of yours songs in another post.

Funny you should say that coz I have got to the point where I would rather suffer hardship and satu close to Jesus than have it easy and be distant from Him :)

Amen John. I am finally starting to let go of the easy life that I had planned and am welcoming a new direction. I know that in all things that have led to this point of my life I am able to see God's will even if I couldn't see it at the time.

I know that I am dependant on Him in all things and have a small answer to a prayer today. I know that it is going to be harder to get through these next couple of months until I am certain the way I am to walk but until then I know that I have nothing to fear in Him.

Anyway John and Silentpoet I must break away for a couple of weeks and go do some soul searching and find a place where I can be content in the Lord's loving arms. I hope and pray that you will continue on in your work as you are encouraging not only yourselves, but many other people along the way. Many times a lesson is only as good as how much you remember it and apply to your life. I find great joy in talking with you as it reminds me of many things that I have forgotten or put aside thinking that tomorrow is a better day than today. The Lord works in marvelous ways and like my friend says "I am not just talking to you but to myself in all things". So I thank you and will be praying for you and hopefully soon I will get the opportunity to talk to you again and share God's wonderful work in my life.

With love, hope, joy, blesings, and all the marvellous things the Lord has to offer,
    Evie

    Part 2

    Example of general enrichment.
    Food:
When I am hungry I need to eat food. A cube of plain cake will take away the pain of hunger and satisfy me.

But a cube of cake with chocolate icing on it still satisfies me, but also more than that it enriches my experience in becoming full up!

    A sun set:
Nothing can make me happier or more filled with the Spirit and blest than fellowship with Jesus alone.

I can be at home or at work, and my soul can be just satisfied as any other time, and my heart filled with peace and rest.

But my experience of God can be enriched by other things.
A sun set, for example will enrich my appreciation of Him. As the sun goes down over a shimmering sea, my heart is touched by a marvellous creator and so the whole experience of God seems richer.

Today I saw a picture in the paper of an estuary with the blue sky and my heart was moved with appreciation towards God.

Life is full of good things that will
NOT MAKE US HAPPIER but will enrich our love, appreciation and understanding of Him.

As I have said before I can worship God at home or at work and be 100% satisfied and fulfilled.
It is no less on a sunny day than a cloudy as regards happiness, BUT the difference is that at times (and not always) my experience of God is deeper and richer because of what He reveals or does for me, either in creation or through His word or whatever.

I could here a lovely song about Jesus, and this to will enrich my love and appreciation of Him.

It does not make me happier, only God alone can make me happy. Rather the things around me, whether music or nature, simply enrich me and make my experience of Him all the more sweeter.

David could say I love the Lord because! In other words His life was enriched by the experiences he had.
God will never withhold things from us that will cause us to be enriched by it.

So many things can make us afraid, We all have fears, but for us we can have our fear removed by the Lord. He says "I will never leave you" Fear puts you off your food and gives you ulcers. Soem times we need to say LORD Iam afraid DELIVER me FREE me and He does so suddenly and great peace follows.

    Part 3
    Enrichment of a spouse.

So how does a companion fit into the picture of enrichment?
Well first of all we alone can never make each other happier than Jesus can.

Having a companion will be of the same analogy as of a sunset!
I walk though life with Father holding my right hand, and in my left hand will be my companion.

Our lives will be enriched towards God by each other.
We will be able to experience things with each other, emotionally, spiritually, and physically that will cause our experience of God to be richer.

This enrichment will not happen all the time! As much as the sun doesn’t set golden every day! Especially in the winter! But my life or our life will take on a new sphere of oneness, with God.

We will be one flesh, so in theory we operate as ONE body, with our hearts minds and affections chiefly on Jesus.
Our chief aims toward each other should be to promote each others experience with God as our Friend.

Our aims should be to cause one another to have a far deeper experience of God.
We will not make each other happier or exited only Jesus does that.
But the enrichment will come of sharing Jesus with each other.
Seeing Jesus displayed in each others life.

It will be enriched as I will have to exercise self sacrifice.

Our sexual union should be one of what I can enjoy out of it but rather what I can give to my companion and praying that through this experience that one another will be enriched in our experience of knowing God and of course of our love and unity oneness with each other.

God created man and woman for each other, not make them happy, but to enrich the lives by experiencing God through each other.

I think I agree with most of that post Songs, but the happy part. At least for me. I think the way I am wired or even maybe I am called means that a wife would make me happy. Love does that at least based on my limited experience. I do know that being without such love does make me unhappy. And this being without is the biggest tool the devil uses to make me doubt God.

But for the most part I think it is a pretty true post, I am just weird in a lot of ways.

    Part 4
So let’s use the example of having a companion or partner.

Will having a boy / girl friend make me a happy person? Answer: NO!
So what should it to for me then?
Well the whole purpose of other things besides having God is to ENRICH us in our APPRECIATION of God.

What ever we have or want should always cause us and promote us to be brought CLOSER to the Lord and appreciate Him more.

So this is how believe it should effects us:-
    1. It enriches our walk and growth with God. Always bringing us closer and nearer to Him by this relationship.
Anything that I desire must have the end result of making me appreciate God more.

    2. A relationship then is to have someone to show affection and romance to.

    3. Someone to be able to share life with.

    4. Someone to be able to share what God has done for us today.

    5. Someone to share life’s joy and sorrow with.

    6. Someone to share in Gods work with.

    7. Someone to help each other when we need support.

    8. Someone to have as a best earthly friend.

    9. Someone to express our emotions to.

But in all this still it is only God who can make us HAPPY.

It is possible to find our emotional needs met through worship to God.

    10. In marriage having a companion will help us in the struggles and meet one another’s God created sexual needs.

So the key word is ENRICHED and not made HAPPY by these other things.
In a relationship, we should expect affection, romance, support, togetherness, interaction, and support.
But we must not depend upon each other for it but look to our God for the true fullness of life
    .

When we feel hurt and need of affection etc we need to turn to Jesus for it.

    Part 5
How can I know this joy?
Jesus said John 15:7 If you remain in me and my words remain in you, then you will ask for anything you wish, and you shall have it.
We need to come to the Lord with hungry hearts and say this prayer: “Lord I have had enough I dearly want to be happy with you, please begin today to change my life and fill me with your joy and peace.

I want to be happy with you and free from things that make me down. I want to be free from being dependent upon people and things for happiness. It seems an impossible task, I struggle to pray and worship, but your word says that you have begun a good work in me and will complete it.

Your word says Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness for they will be Filled, I know and believe that you will fill me to full. Your word says that I need to be patient and wait for the blessing and not give in. I know it won’t happen over night. Please get me there Lord I utterly need your help”

The true answers to real happiness are very simple:
Pray and pray and worship and worship read and read, spend time with Jesus. I promise you that after a while you begin to feel happier, stronger, more confident, more powerful.
God will teach you, He will support I will support you, you can know happiness and joy even in the darkest saddest times.
Reach out for more, face the challenge.

Begin to realise the utter need to spend time with Jesus. How can He help you if you don’t pray and worship.
It is only Jesus and a love for Him that will make you happy.
If after reading all this you are still not able to get real with God then you ain’t very desperate but when the time comes come back to this and read it again.

God will wait for you to call on Him and He will be ready to begin His great plan in making you a “woman / man of prayer and God for God”

What a winderful list to measure a true relationship with. It is a amazing how often we look at other things as a sign of a 'healthy' relatioship. The world tries and dictates to us what a real relationship should be like. This is a good measure of any relationship. Thank you John

This is something that I ma struggling with at the moment. As another door is closed and still no idea where I am headed, I worry that I am relying too much on myself and others to make me happy. It is a long journey I am on at the moment and I am not sure that I knowwhere exactly I am headed but I know in all things I need Him. There is no other way. The lessons I have learnt thus far have heart and brought many old scars to the surface but then I also know that today my Lord is with me and there is nothing that I can do to change His plans. My God has a plan for me and it will succeed in my life - I am just not sure what it is right now but there is a peace that comes with knowing that all of this will end up good.

I don't really see any joy in being single. I am glad you can, songs, but for me it is at best a duty I must do/undergo.

I write devotionals, and that too is merely a duty. I do my very best to pour any encouragement, faith, or knowledge I have been given into them. But it doesn't really bring me any joy. I sometimes feel satisfaction or the pride of a job well done, but not really joy. It is like the passage that states "we are poor servants we have only done our duty" I don't think I should feel anything special from just doing the job God has given me.

I think in a marriage relationship we can't help but draw closer to God if we are following His commands. One of those commands is to love our wives as Jesus loves the church. That is a deep passionate love and by experiencing such love we will understand Jesus much better. I also think that by learning to put our spouse first and think more of her/his needs we will learn to be more humble and better servants.

I would say more, but I am tired and not sure I can express myself very well at this point.
