The explanation I presented does have scriptural support which I gave, Matthew 28:18 and Revelation 1:8. The litmus text for your theory is to substitute your explanation of who the "he" is in verse 7, as I have done below.
Disagree, neither Matthew 28:18 nor Revelation 1:8 support your theory. Matt. just states all power is given to Jesus Rev. just states Christ is the alpha and omega, the almighty. You assume Jesus is the restrainer because He has all power. Nothing ties the use of that power to 2 Thessalonians 2:6-7
7 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he (the Lord Jesus Christ) who now letteth will let, until he
(the Lord Jesus Christ, his body here on earth, the church) be taken out of the way.
2 Thess. 2: 6 And now ye know what withholdeth ( Michael or another angel) that he (man of sin) might be revealed in his time.
7 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth (Michael or another angel) will let, until he ( Michael or another angel) be taken out of the way.
The three requirements for the "he" in that verse:
1. he, who now letteth - Jesus - who is given all power in heaven and in the earth to let things happen
Michael cast the dragon out of heaven Revelation 12:7-9. An angel cast satan into the bottomless pit Revelation 20:1-3. There are two scriptural examples of angels performing a task just like that in 2 Thess. Doesn’t have to be Michael but it could . Just because Jesus has all power does not prove he is the one in 2 Thess.
2. he, who will let - Jesus - who will allow the man of sin to be revealed
2. he who now letteth (Michael or another angel) Just adding the name Jesus or Michael does not make it so. I did give examples of angels carrying out such a task.
3. he, to be taken out of the way - (Jesus) his body here on earth the church
3. will let, until he ( Michael or another angel) be taken out of the way.
Michael works just as well as Jesus in this case, angels Have authority to carry out these type of things .
But we have gotten to the root of the matter in your 3rd point. You need to get the church out of here.
What doesn't fit the "he" for all three requirements for the "he":
God the Father
Well God the Father can’t be taken out of the way.
The Holy Spirit
You said in post #12 “When the believers depart, the Holy Spirit will still be here to draw men to Jesus and salvation” that rules Him out.
Michael, the angel
Fits nicely, you’ve shown no reason from scripture this cannot be the case.
The church
“Houston we have a problem” the church is going nowhere.

The great falling away occurs first before the man of sin is revealed to be such by his going into the temple sitting, claiming to be God.
Agreed
The great falling away from Christianity will be when Judaism's messiah arrives, the person who becomes the King of Israel, illegitimate, the Antichrist - will be so convincing that many in Christianity will depart Jesus and embrace the person as the messiah as well.
Agreed, maybe.
The great falling away will take place during the first half of the seven years. The church may still be here during that time, but there will be the great falling away.
Maybe the falling away, although I believe we are seeing it right now, the church will be here.
Before the man of sin reveals himself to be such, the rapture will take place.
Not going to happen.
2 Thess. 2: 3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.
Both the falling away and the man of sin will be revealed before the gathering of verse 1.
Which could be near the middle third of the seven years - as a guess - if it has not already taken place before then.
Jesus said immediately after the tribulation Matthew 24:29-31
Paul said after the falling away and the man of sin is revealed 2 Thessalonians 2:3
When the rapture takes place, imo, there will be many who become Christians, although they missed the rapture.
When the rapture takes place it is over.
