I asked a friend of mine (via text messaging) what he thought of the show after it was over and he was watching it at the time and said "Good so far, just started episode 4, I really want Curtis to die."

I got another text message about half an hour later: "I can't believe Curtis died I didn't really want him to..."

Well the nuke blast radius was something like 1/4 mile wide, or basically nothing too huge, and they were at that address in Valencia which was 20 miles north of LA. So the only thing that will affect LA would be the fallout from prevailing winds blowing it south.

And yes true about Curtis not explicitly being said that he was dead. Though A(ckhh)med (LOL) is dead as Nadia told us.

End of episode 4? My gosh, I was speechless too!!! My heart was racing as I was watching the last 5 minutes. Can't believe it!!!!

I missed the show last night, and I just got around to watching it tonight. There were several times that my heart was jumping. I do not think that Curtis is dead, and will return later in the season.
The last five minutes were crazy. After the "explosive ending", I had similar reaction to the people in the White House, I just stared at the screen and ask myself, 'Did that really just happen?' And now the thought of there being more of these items out there really makes me want next Monday to come faster!

Okay, so I'm finally caught up.

I just knew that they were gonna do something with Curtis. He started off being in the CTU building a lot more in past seasons and then they started leaving him out in the field a lot more. It was only a matter of time before they wrote out his character.

The other thing that clued me in was the opening credits. They showed Roger Cross in the "Guest Starring" section of the credits. His name wasn't there with Keifer Sutherland and the other main actors, whereas it has been in previous seasons.

I thought the faces that he was giving Jack were hilarious. It was as if someone passed gas in the SUV and he was trying to figure out who the culprit was.

Good call on the mom though. If she hadn't called 911... who knows.
