24 gets renewed for two more seasons.

But they might be replacing the entire cast and they might re-locate CTU.

CNN said:
LOS ANGELES, California (Hollywood Reporter) -- The clock on "24" will keep ticking for two more seasons.
Fox's unusually late renewal for the Emmy-winning thriller will allow Jack Bauer to keep saving the day through the 2008-09 season, which will be the series' eighth.
Series star Kiefer Sutherland already is locked to stay with the show through May 2009.
"We're re-creating the series," executive producer/showrunner Howard Gordon said. "It is going to be a real-time thriller. Beyond that, it's an open book."
"24," in which each episode spans an hour during the season-long day, has had a roller-coaster ride the past couple of seasons.
It earned rave reviews for Season 5, which was capped by five Emmys last year, including best drama series and a best actor trophy for Sutherland.
But during its current sixth season, "24" has drawn criticism from fans about losing some of its creative footing.
Gordon said he felt those assessments were "unfair." "On balance, it was a very successful season," he said.
The upcoming re-invention of the series was something the producers have talked about for a while, Gordon said.
Aside from Sutherland, "24" will return with a new cast (some old favorites might return in different roles) and a new, non-Los Angeles location, with the producers even contemplating telling the story from two locations.
"24" joins Fox's previously renewed series "House," "Prison Break," "Bones" and " 'Til Death" as well as the network's Sunday animated comedy block.
Fox also has ordered a 13th season of the late-night comedy series "Mad TV," which airs at 11 p.m. Saturdays.
The network's recently picked-up new series for next season include three comedies: the Kelsey Grammer-Patricia Heaton starrer "Back to You," "Gilmore Girls" creator Amy Sherman-Palladino's "The Return of Jezebel James," and the Farrelly brothers-produced "The Rules of Starting Over." (Blog: How's Fox doing?)
New dramas picked up include "Canterbury's Law," starring Julianna Margulies; the New Orleans-set cop drama "K-Ville"; the high-concept detective drama "New Amsterdam"; and the "Terminator"-themed sci-fi drama "The Sarah Connor Chronicles."

what does everyone think will happen tonight?
At 9:59 p.m. EDT, we'll all sit back on our couches with awed expressions on our faces, unable to believe what we just saw happen on our televisions. With incredulity, we will turn to the person sitting next to us and exclaim....

"That's it....?"

Then we'll sigh, shrug our shoulders, and flip over to our recordings of the exciting season finale of Heroes. ;)

.

Oh, and, someone else will die, but it won't be Jack. :D

I think it says a lot about what's happened to 24 this season that 24 (heh) hours later, no one has posted about the finale that aired last night.

Personally, I'm going to pretend this season never happened and wait for the big shake-up in 2008. ;)

Of course Jack doesn't jump at the end. What started out as an awesome season, ended with such disappointment. What ever happened to Charles Logan, Martha? Wayne Palmer? I really hope they do something to reinvigorate the series next season.

Okay...I'm having very mixed feelings about this spoiler. They better make it good, is all I have to say. Very good. Very believeable. Because I really don't want this season to be flop like #6.

Sorry, y'all...just a little concerned. I'm just such a great fan of the show and I don't want to see this next season bomb like the last, for the sake of us fans and also for the writers of the show.

They've actually said how they are going to make it happen.

Tony did not die in the last season. There was nothing on-camera to definitively say that he was dead, and they did not use their customary "silent clock" at the end of the episode as they do when main characters die. He was left for dead, but not actually dead.

I think it's plausible. :)

Hey Miss Spaulding, you might want to edit your post and put it inside spoiler tags. Even though you don't mention specifics, you give enough detail that people can figure out who we are talking about.

You are right snooch I didn't even think of that. I've edited my post, would you be so kind as to edit your quote? Someone might be able to discern info from the partial link :D
