Bible Study Tool of Psalm 37
(compiled and formatted by Bill Stevenson)

Introduction: This is my favorite Psalm because after every upset in my life, remembering the basic commands in it have helped me to recover to right thinking as Philippians 4:6-8 and Jude 20-23 as I waited for Romans 8:29 blessings. For this study, I used the King James Version software and I slightly modernized the verses. Also, this study is for females too, I have inserted “or she”, “or her” and other female alternatives in the appropriate verses. I slightly modernized the verses I used. The indentations are for good and logical reasons too. Try to determine why. Finally divine promises and conditions are indicated. The bolded “P”s mean promises and the bolded “C”s mean conditions. The bolded number following each indicates the count. The condition could be just one word, like “upright” or “righteous”.

1 A Psalm of David.
Fret not yourself because of evildoers,
neither be you envious against the workers of iniquity.
2 For they shall soon be cut down like the grass and wither as the green herb. P1
3 Trust in The Lord, and do good; C1 & 2
so shall you dwell in the land, and verily you shall be fed. P2
4 Delight yourself also in The Lord, C3
and He shall give you the desires of your heart. P3
5 Commit your way unto The Lord; C4
trust also in Him; C5
and He shall bring it to pass. P4
6 And He shall bring forth
your righteousness C6 as the light, P5
and your judgment as the noonday. P6
7 Rest in The Lord, and wait patiently for Him;
fret not yourself because of him (or her) who prospers in his (or her) way,
because of the man (or woman) who brings wicked devices to pass.
8 Cease from anger, and forsake wrath; C7
fret not yourself in any wise to do evil. C8
9 For evildoers shall be cut off; P7
but those that wait upon The Lord,
they shall inherit the Earth. P8
10 For yet a little while, and the wicked C9 shall not be, P9
you shall diligently consider his (or her) place C10 and it shall not be.
11 But the meek C11 shall inherit the Earth; P10
and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace. P11
12 The wicked plots against the just, and gnashes upon him (or her) with his (or her) teeth. C12
13 The Lord shall laugh at him (or her), for he sees that his (or her) day is coming. P12
14 The wicked
have drawn out the sword,
and have bent their bow,
to cast down the poor and needy,
and to slay such as be of upright life. C13
15 Their sword shall enter into their own heart,
and their bows shall be broken. P13
16 A little that a righteous man (or woman) has is better than the riches of many wicked.
17 For the arms of the wicked shall be broken;
but The Lord upholds the righteous C14. P14
18 The Lord knows the days of the upright C15; and their inheritance shall be for ever P15.
19 They shall not be ashamed in the evil time; P16
and in the days of famine they shall be satisfied. P17
20 But the wicked C16 shall perish P18,
and the enemies of The Lord C17 shall be as the fat of lambs P19;
they shall consume; into smoke shall they consume away P20.
21 The wicked borrows and pays not again.
but the righteous shows mercy and gives. C18
22 For such as be blessed of Him shall inherit the Earth; P21
and they who be cursed of Him shall be cut off. P22
23 The steps of a good C19 man (or woman) are ordered by The Lord;
and He delights in his (or her) way. P23
24 though he (or she) fall, he (or her)shall not be utterly cast down, P24
for The Lord upholds him his (or her) with His hand. P25
25 I have been young and now am old, yet have I not seen the righteous C20
forsaken,
nor his (or her) seed begging bread.
26 He is ever merciful, and lends;
and his (or her) seed is blessed. P26
27 Depart from evil, and do good; C21
and dwell for evermore. P27
28 For The Lord loves judgment, and forsakes not His Saints; P28
they are preserved for ever; P29
but the seed of the wicked shall be cut off. P30
29 The righteous C22 shall inherit the land P31, and dwell therein for ever P32.
30 The mouth of the righteous speaks wisdom,
and his (or her) tongue talks of judgment.
31 The Law of his God is in his (or her) heart; C23
none of his (or her) steps shall slide. P33
32 The wicked watches the righteous C24, and seeks to slay him (or her).
33 The Lord will not leave him (or her) in his (or her) hand, P34
nor condemn him (or her) when he (or she) is judged. P35
34 Wait on The Lord C25, and keep His way C26,
and He shall exalt you to inherit the land. P36
When the wicked are cut off, you shall see it. P37
35 I have seen the wicked in great power, and spreading himself like a green bay tree.
36 Yet he passed away, and, lo, he was not:
yes, I sought him, but he could not be found.
37 Mark the perfect C27 man (or woman), and behold the upright C28;
for the end of that man (or woman) is peace. P38
38 But the transgressors shall be destroyed together; P39
the end of the wicked shall be cut off. P40
39 But the salvation of the righteous C29 is of The Lord; P41
He is their strength in the time of trouble. P42
40 And The Lord shall help them and deliver them P43:
He shall
deliver them from the wicked, P44
and save them, P45
because they trust in Him. C30

Two Wisdoms
(Compiled and logically sorted by Bible Stevenson)

Introduction:
Isaiah 47:10-11
10 For you have trusted in your wickedness;
you have said, “No one sees me.”
Your wisdom and your knowledge, it has perverted you;
and you have said in your heart, “I am, and there is no one else.”
11 But evil shall come on you; you shall not know its origin.
And mischief shall fall on you; you shall not be able to put it off.
And desolation shall come on you suddenly, you shall not know.
Proverbs 8:5-11
5 O simple ones, understand wisdom;
and, fools, be of an understanding heart.
6 “Hear; for I will speak of excellent things;
and the opening of my lips shall be right things.
7 For my mouth shall speak truth;
and wickedness is hateful to my lips.
8 All the words of my mouth are in righteousness;
nothing twisted or perverse is in them.
9 They are all plain to him [or her] who understands,
and right to those who find knowledge.
10 Receive my instruction and not silver,
and knowledge rather than choice gold.
11 For wisdom is better than rubies;
and all the things that may be desired are not to be compared to it.

The following is from the Lockman Foundation’s Amplified Bible and logically formatted.
1 Corinthians 1:17-31
17 For Christ (the Messiah) sent me out not to baptize
but [to evangelize by] preaching the glad tidings (the Gospel),
and that not with verbal eloquence,
lest the cross of Christ should be
deprived of force {and}
emptied of its power {and}
rendered vain (fruitless, void of value, and of no effect).
18 For the story {and} message of the cross
is sheer absurdity
{and} folly to those who are perishing {and} on their way to perdition,
but to us who are being saved it is the [manifestation of] the power of God.
19 For it is written, “I will baffle {and} render useless {and} destroy
the learning of the learned {and}
the philosophy of the philosophers and
the cleverness of the clever {and}
the discernment of the discerning;
I will frustrate {and} nullify [them] {and} bring [them] to nothing.” (Isaiah 29:14)
20 Where is the wise man (the philosopher)?
Where is the scribe (the scholar)?
Where is the investigator (the logician, the debater) of this present time {and} age?
Has not God shown up the nonsense {and} the folly of this world's wisdom?
21 For when the world with all its Earthly wisdom
failed to perceive {and} recognize {and} know God by means of its own philosophy,
God in His wisdom was pleased through the foolishness of preaching
to save those who believed
(who clung to and trusted in and relied on Him).
22 For while Jews [demandingly] ask for signs {and} miracles
and Greeks pursue philosophy {and} wisdom,
23 we preach Christ (the Messiah) crucified,
[preaching which] to the Jews is a scandal
{and} an offensive stumbling block [that springs a snare or trap],
and to the Gentiles it is absurd {and} utterly unphilosophical nonsense.
24 But to those who are called, whether Jew or Greek (Gentile),
Christ [is] the Power of God and the Wisdom of God.
25 [This is] because
the foolish thing [that has its source in] God is wiser than men,
and the weak thing [that springs] from God is stronger than men.
26 For [simply] consider your own call, brethren [and sistren];
not many [of you were considered to be] wise according to human estimates {and} standards,
not many influential {and} powerful, not many of high {and} noble birth.
27 For God selected (deliberately chose)
what in the world is foolish
to put the wise to shame,
and what the world calls weak
to put the strong to shame.
28 And God also selected (deliberately chose)
what in the world is lowborn {and} insignificant and branded
{and} treated with contempt, even the things that are nothing,
that He might depose {and} bring to nothing the things that are,
29 so that no mortal man
should [have pretense for glorying and] boast in the presence of God.
30 But it is from Him that you have your life in Christ Jesus,
Whom God made our Wisdom from God,
[revealed to us a knowledge of the divine plan of Salvation previously hidden,
manifesting itself as]
our Righteousness
[thus making us upright and putting us in right standing with God], and
our Consecration [making us pure and holy], and
our Redemption [providing our ransom from eternal penalty for sin].
31 So then, as it is written, ‘Let him who boasts {and} proudly rejoices
{and} glories, boast {and} proudly rejoice {and} glory in The Lord.’
1 Corinthians 2
1 As for myself, brethren, when I came to you, I did not come proclaiming to you
the testimony {and} evidence {or mystery and secret} of God
[concerning what He has done through Christ for the Salvation of men and women]
in lofty words of eloquence or human philosophy {and} wisdom;
2 For I resolved to know nothing
among you except Jesus Christ (the Messiah) and Him crucified.
3 And I was in weakness and fear (dread) and great trembling among you.
4 And my language and my message were not set forth
in persuasive (enticing and plausible) words of wisdom,
but they were in demonstration of the [Holy] Spirit and power
5 so that your faith might not rest in the wisdom of men (human philosophy),
but in the power of God.
6 Yet when we are among the full-grown
(spiritually mature Christians who are ripe in understanding),
we do impart a [higher] wisdom
(the knowledge of the divine plan previously hidden);
but it is indeed not a wisdom
of this present age {or} of this world
nor of the leaders {and} rulers of this age,
who are being brought to nothing {and} are doomed to pass away.
7 But rather what we are setting forth is a wisdom of God
once hidden mystery [from the human understanding] and now revealed to us by God--
[that wisdom] which God devised {and} decreed before the ages
for our glorification [to lift us into the glory of His presence].
8 None of the rulers of this age {or} world
perceived {and} recognized {and} understood this,
for if they had, they would never have crucified the Lord of glory.
9 But, on the contrary, as the Scripture says,
‘What eye has not seen and ear has not heard
and has not entered into the heart of man,
[all that] God has prepared (made and keeps ready)
for those who love Him” (Isaiah 64:4 & 65:17)
10 Yet to us God has unveiled {and} revealed them by {and} through His Spirit,
for The [Holy] Spirit searches diligently, exploring {and} examining everything,
even sounding the profound and bottomless things of God
[the divine counsels and things hidden and beyond man's scrutiny].
11 For who among men and women knows the things of humankind
except the spirit of humankind within him or her?
So also no one knows the things of God except The Spirit of God.
12 Now we have not received the spirit [that belongs to] the world,
but The [Holy] Spirit Who is from God,
[given to us] that we might realize {and} comprehend {and} appreciate the gifts
bestowed on us by God.
13 And we are
setting these truths forth in words
not taught by human wisdom
but taught by The [Holy] Spirit,
combining {and} interpreting spiritual truths with spiritual language.
14 But the natural, nonspiritual man (or woman) does not accept {or} welcome
{or} admit into his (or her) heart
the gifts {and} teachings {and} revelations of The Spirit of God,
for they are folly (meaningless nonsense) to him (or her);
and he (or she) is incapable of knowing them
because they are spiritually discerned.
15 But the spiritual man(or woman) tries all things
[he (or she) examines, investigates, inquires into, questions, and discerns all things],
yet is himself (or herself) to be put on trial and judged by no one
[he (or she) can read the meaning of everything,
but no one can properly discern {or} appraise him (or her)].
16 For who has known {or} understood the mind of The Lord
so as to guide {and} instruct Him {and} give Him knowledge?
But we have the mind of Christ (The Messiah)
{and} do hold the thoughts (feelings and purposes) of His heart.

Your time is too valuable to go around trying to keep everybody happy. Stay focused on what God has called you to do.

What were your responses to the above quotations?
Anyone can accept responsibility for everything in their life but the power to change comes from God alone who secular speakers/authors do not acknowledge. Just more secular cliches and babble.

God wants us to be accountable to Him, and Him alone. Accountability can't be achieved if we don't take responsibility for our actions. If someone wants to be in God's love, then recognizing their role in accepting God's love is critical. The only way to fully embrace God's love is to fully embrace our part of the relationship.

The key is to have a balance of taking responsibility of where we fall short and making an effort to or not to change, then we need to act as God leads us in changing our life. God showing us what we need to do is His part. Us acting upon God leading is our part. In other words: God will show us the way, but He wants us to walk the path.

I just finished creating the following because Pastor Andy has emphasized for 30 years Grace and Responsibility:
R-- Read and learn the Bible. (See 2 Timothy 16-17.)

E-- Frequently enter the Holy of Holies in order to be Holy Spirit sensitive. (See Hebrews 10:19-25.)

S-- Search the New Testament especially for the 1050 commandment. (Need to know what pleases God.)

P-- Pursue righteousness or Christ-likeness. (See Ephesians 4:11-16.)

O-- Observe good leaders about how they are responsible in both speech and actions.

N-- Need to frequently remember all of God’s Grace in our lives and be more thankful for such.

S-- Be obedient to the Holy Spirit’s urging for your Sanctification.

I-- Intellectualism is not very important compared to Christian Sanctification.

B-- Bible understanding and obeying is so important.

I-- Immersion into doing our Ephesians 2:10 parts for the Great Commission is so important.

L-- Loving with compassion everyone. (In what ways do you do such, even for enemies?)

T-- Teaching others spiritual truths when Holy Spirit urged. (He has perfect timing.)

Y-- Yeshua is the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, keep obeying His wonderful teachings.

Your time is too valuable to go around trying to keep everybody happy. Stay focused on what God has called you to do.

What were your responses to the above quotations?
The first quotation is a discovery of will and belief in the possibility of being a free agent capable of creating your own life. The second quote properly orients one’s will toward the purpose of God.
It is interesting that the critique is against using your will for the pleasure of others rather than our selves, but so much of our time is spent elevating our own social status through aggrandizing ourselves that we seek status from, that it is in the end the same thing.
Aligning oneself to God’s will is orienting oneself towards the perfect, the good, and the true. It is orienting oneself to creating our life in the image and path of God.

BibleloverBill,
Relax. Don't allow the self-righteous religious to goad you into anger. Jesus warned us that the majority of professed religious prefer the old wine. Most of the responses I have seen to your quote sharing are organized religious scripture regurgitation. They approach the scriptures seeking only what their religion told them to look for. They are not spirit led...you are, Praise God!

Those are untruth accusations. I have been away from this site for a while because of other ministry opportunities that are better than here. I am not part of any religion. You lie about Jesus Christ: God's truths and expectations don't change. Many are adding to them in order to get money and fame. That is wrong as the last part of Revelation indicates. You are completely wrong about me and my posts. All of the latter were urged by the Holy Spirit, so you have gone against Him with what you wrote. Are you in the 2 Timothy 3:1-5 group?
