If one takes Jesus seriously, everything He says has to be balanced.
Again, you use the wrong word.

It's not "to be balanced', but rather "to be BELIEVED", which you obviously do not do.

You should know better than try to use this verse on how to get to heaven. Paul was setting up the ONLY WAY to get to heaven APART FROM JESUS.
God "will give to each person according to what he has done."
To those who by persistence in doing good seek glory, honor and immortality, he will give eternal life.
But for those who are self-seeking and who reject the truth and follow evil, there will be wrath and anger.
There will be trouble and distress for every human being who does evil: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile;
but glory, honor and peace for everyone who does good: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile.
For God does not show favoritism.
Rom 2:6-10

Let me be quite direct. Paul is saying God blesses those who seek glory honour and immortality and trouble and distress for those who do evil.

It is literally written like this.
So your mind my friend is so filtered it does not read the actual words but adds something else which comes up with, Paul is condemning those who do good.

My whole point is you do this without even thinking, and you do not see that you are doing it because it is so imbedded in who you are.

The obvious force and intent of your words, shows you 100% believe what you are writing even though the bible simply does not agree with your point. You remind me of a forum member who denied the words they wrote in their next posting, as if this made any sense. This is cognative disonance. And once one has gone this far, it does not matter what I write, because your mind will change it into something else.

I love you, as Jesus loves you, but I cannot help in these circumstances.
It is the same as talking to flat earthers. The concept is stronger than the facts, the emotion driving the conviction will not let go.

So I post for others, knowing this will not change your approach.
Thank you for your efforts they are most enlightening. God bless you.

Again, you use the wrong word.

It's not "to be balanced', but rather "to be BELIEVED", which you obviously do not do.

Balanced is chosen for a particular reason.
Hate you mother, father, brother, sister.
Honour your parents.

The fruit of the Spirit is love, patience, self control.
Children of satan.....

Do not murder
Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you
If your hand causes you to sin, cut it off.
If you believe in me you will never see death.
If you chose not to forgive on earth, so will it be done in heaven.
Forgive your brother from your heart.

These are not absolutes, but balances, and emphases.
It is not easy to see the application these are being addressed at, but in time
it becomes clear, that in the right circumstances and with the right subjects it
works.

It is also why Jesus was not an idealist. He is prepared to deal with us, be our
friend and work and walk with us through the highs and lows.

And we are redeemed, purchased and brought into the Kingdom despite being
imperfect, yet walking and following. This in itself appears to be a contradiction,
yet also a spiritual reality. Why have continual sacrifices? Because the walk is
a walk of sanctification and transformation rather than arrival. If you think you
have arrived, you actually have not yet begun.

Aim for perfection, listen to my appeal, be of one mind, live in peace.
2 Corinthians 13:11

The cynics and unbelievers claim it is not even worthwhile aiming for something that will never happen, but then that is why they do not know Jesus.

I think you can save your breath. I already pointed out WHAT ELSE Paul wrote, which PROVES that NO HUMAN BEING is able to receive eternal life by way of keeping the Law, or by persistence in "doing good".

If that were possible, then Jesus didn't need to come to earth and die for anyone.

Why don't you understand this?

He came precisely because NO ONE can fulfill Rom 2:6-8.

Paul is saying God blesses those who seek glory honour and immortality and trouble and distress for those who do evil.
He does. But He doesn't give out eternal life for those who "by persistence do good".

Why not? Because NO ONE is capable of such. As I already proved in my previous post and which you've ignored, like you have done for all the other verses I'v shared that refute your ideas.

It is literally written like this.
So your mind my friend is so filtered it does not read the actual words but adds something else which comes up with, Paul is condemning those who do good.
Oh, the hypocrisy of your words. You are the one who "adds something else" to verses like John 10:28; that recipients of eternal life MUST endure in the faith, etc" in order to never perish.

I haven't added anything to God's word. But I DO believe what was written, unlike yourself.

My whole point is you do this without even thinking, and you do not see that you are doing it because it is so imbedded in who you are.
You are so embedded by your over active imagination and your touchy feely emotions that you can't think straight.

The obvious force and intent of your words, shows you 100% believe what you are writing even though the bible simply does not agree with your point.
It is your own posts that do not agree with the Bible, as I've consistently shown, and you have consistently ignored.

You remind me of a forum member who denied the words they wrote in their next posting, as if this made any sense.
There is no reason for such a "reminder", since I haven't done such a stupid thing as to deny any of my words.

But, since it appears you think I have, then please cite post #'s and show me how I've denied my own words.

This is cognative disonance.
Which you have in spades.

And once one has gone this far, it does not matter what I write, because your mind will change it into something else.
Nope. I've taken just what you've posted and proven from Scripture that your ideas are quite disconnected from Scripture.

I love you, as Jesus loves you
You have NO CAPACITY to love anyone as Jesus loves them. Are you actually (and arrogantly) saying that you would die for me? He proved His love for me by dying for me.

but I cannot help in these circumstances.
You certainly CAN help yourself in these circumstances. You could accept what the Bible teaches.

It is the same as talking to flat earthers. The concept is stronger than the facts, the emotion driving the conviction will not let go.
Said the over active imagineer who is driven by his own emotions, rather than facts.

I said:
"Again, you use the wrong word.

Balanced is chosen for a particular reason.
Of course you did. You simply don't like to use the word "believe" anywhere in your posts. Instead, you focus on your touchy feely lovey dovey ideas.

Hate you mother, father, brother, sister.
Honour your parents.
Do you really think these 2 statements need some "balance"? How would you balance them out?

Do you even understand what Jesus meant by hating one's family? I doubt it.

The fruit of the Spirit is love, patience, self control.
Children of satan.....
But you have already demonstrated your disconnect from biblical teaching about how to be filled with the Spirit. And "children of satan" in the context of Scripture is about one's actions, not who one belongs to.

And we are redeemed, purchased and brought into the Kingdom despite being
imperfect, yet walking and following.
Are we "redeemed, purchased and brought into the kingdom" on the basis of "walking and following"? Huh?

The cynics and unbelievers claim it is not even worthwhile aiming for something that will never happen, but then that is why they do not know Jesus.
How can one claim to know Jesus yet NOT believe what He teaches?

You've yet to explain that.
