  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Don't forget where those goalposts came from:
Nobody mentioned "divine math", you brought up that term late in the conversation in deus ex machina fashion. And you didn't even define it. You kept referencing scripture and addition. You move the goalposts when you introduce a new qualifier, etc. "Divine" math. Were you talking about "divine addition" all along, or "regular addition" ? Perhaps you should now define "divine math".

If someone were to suddenly say, "According to Marvel Universe math, this is true, yes," and they had previously never mentioned it, they have now moved the goalposts from the original discussion.

Of course not.

These are exceptions to the basic mundane rules of math.

Just like miracles are exceptions to the basic mundane rules of physics.

It's interesting how Genesis 1 invalidates evolution, isn't it?

2 persons gathered in Jesus' name + 2 persons gathered in Jesus' name = 5 persons.
I love your logic. Amen brother
I believe God is greater than mathematics as describe in Matthew 14:17-21 " fives loaves of bread and two fishes fed five thousand."

Absolutely.

Even the order of the appearance of the universe is "wrong."

According to divine math, yes.

Genesis 2:24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.

Ahhhh and we have it. Where did I mention any kind of divine math?

So I guess what we are really talking about is realms of the unknown.

Your 1 +1+1=1 Is just you saying the father, son and ghost/spirit are all as 1.

But that's not math, it doesn't really apply to numbers, it's like when I used to say surfing made me one with the sea, does that mean 1+1=1? No, it means I felt spiritually connected to the sea with a clarification of mind with a feeling of total awareness.... but I would still consider me = 1, the sea = 1 therefore 1+1=2

Interesting thought process though Av

Dude. Duuuuuuuddddeeee. Yes. I had totally forgotten that Point Break quote. Yes :) Thank you for reminding me :)

And that analogy with surfing ... that is actually how I learned that phrase myself haha. I was living in HI at the time, and learning to surf, and getting over confident and not respecting the ocean. One day, with warning signs all over the place because the way the surf was breaking (and no one even going out in it), I did precisely what I said above I would do lol ... I saw I was afraid, but went out anyway :) My wife (at the time) fell asleep on the beach, and I took the opportunity to go out. Within a couple of waves, I went over the falls ... and you can probably guess the rest. It was like being hit with a truck, shoved down deep to where I didn't know up from down, air knocked out of me. My lungs burning, I made it to the surface just in time to gasp and take another beating. 3 sets of beatings, of course ... and I managed to make it to shore and out of danger. I had to crawl on the sand, I couldn't stand up, and I collapsed and lay in one place for about 40 minutes trying to get my strength back. It took 10 minutes or so to just stop gasping for air. I had to wake my wife up once I was able to stand up lol. I was pretty bruised up for a couple of days. I learned to respect the power that day, and shortly thereafter, I learned that Point Break quote. I can't believe I forgot it :)

You just re-taught me (inadvertently) an important lesson I had forgotten ... many thanks sir :)

^_^ Nice, yes over the falls, wiping out... what you describe we fondly named "The Washing machine effect" or "The Spin cycle" ^_^
That total panic where you are out of air, out of time and you surface just long enough to grab a breath before you go round again. The biggest mistake people make in this situation when fear has kicked in completely is they start to swim, this is a bad idea. When you are down there, there is so much air mixed in that your buoyancy has changed, if you start swimming one of two things can happen... you either create more bubbles which cause you to sink, or you swim straight down because you have no idea which way you are facing. This is where fear , or control of it can be the difference between life and death.
I pulled a few lads out of the spin cycle and have been pulled out of it myself. All good fun though ^_^

And I thought my Blade Runner references in another thread were a throw back lol.

Wouldn't it be 2+2+3 (Father, Son, HG)? So 2+2=7? :p:p:p

::runs::
Actually, there are verses which talk about the sevenfold spirit of God.

*runs as well*
