  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

    Don't Be a Slacker!

As I was praying about what the Lord Jesus would have me write this evening, for I knew he was giving me another devotional to write, he put in my mind this passage of scripture found in Proverbs 6:6 (KJV): “Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise.” “A sluggard is a...

    Half-Hearted?

Or, Whole-Hearted? You who claim to be a follower of Jesus Christ, are you passionate for him? Are you on fire for God and for the kingdom of heaven and for his holiness and righteousness to be lived out in your life? Do his words burn in you like a fire? And, you cannot hold them inside, but...

    More Than Words

Do you ever feel as though God has allowed you to go through difficulties, trials, and tribulations so that you feel his heart? So that, when he speaks, you get his words, down deep into the very depths of your soul, because you have experienced, to some extent, what God has or is experiencing...

    Something Skipped

Have you found yourself in a spiral of sin, confess, sin, confess, sin, confess, but you never seem to progress past that? You keep repeating the same patterns, the same sins, the same responses, with the same lies, and the same attitudes, but you just can’t seem to jump ship. It is a lot like...

    Is Illness Caused by Sin?

I came across a statement the other day supposing that illness is a result of sin and when a person is healed it means they are forgiven of their sins. I can only guess at which scriptures the person has in mind to support his statement. Let's start with 1 Cor 11:30: "For this reason many among...

Should I allow our friendship to end?

This is rather long but I'd appreciate if any women and men of God could give me some guidance. I'm currently in a very confusing situation with regards to my friendships with my 2 closest friends. Just some background... I grew up in the church and officially gave my life to Jesus at age 14...

    Not in Freedom!

My heart is burdened. Why is it so burdened? Because so many Christians, or professing Christians, are walking (living) in sin and not in freedom! The Lord Jesus led me to read Galatians 5 (Select vv. ESV). For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a...

    Vain Worship

God would rather the doors of our churches be shut than for us to offer up shallow forms of worship and praise to him, which may stir the emotions, but not produce changed hearts, minds, and lives for Jesus Christ. It is better to have no sacrifices, than to have vain ones (See: Malachi 1:10)...

    Because of What He's Done

The Lord Jesus led me to read Hebrews 2 (Select vv. ESV). Jesus Christ, the Son of God (and God), and creator of the world, left his throne in heaven, came to earth, took on human flesh, and suffered like we suffer. He was also tempted in like manner as we are tempted, yet without sin. He...

    Carried Away?

The Lord Jesus led me to read 2 Peter 3 (Select vv. NASB). When we, as believers in Jesus Christ, trust in Him to be Lord and Savior of our lives, we are delivered both from slavery to sin and the punishment of sin, which is spiritual death, which is eternity without God in the fires of hell...

    Birthrights for Sale?

The Lord Jesus led me to read Hebrews 12 (Select vv. NASB). Pursue peace with all men, and the sanctification without which no one will see the Lord. In our pursuit of peace with all people, we must remember that peace with all people is not to exclude peace with God. In other words, we do...

    Persuasive Arguments

The Lord Jesus led me to read Colossians 2 (vv. 1-7 NASB). We have been instructed in scripture to expect to be opposed, if we are truly following Jesus Christ with our lives. But, it isn’t just us who are being opposed, but it is the gospel of our salvation which is coming under fire, and from...

    If You Have

The Lord Jesus led me to read Colossians 3 (vv. 1-4 NASB) Therefore, if you have been raised up with Christ… That word “if” is a big word, although it often goes unnoticed. When we see this word “if” show up in scripture, we should take notice, for it implies uncertainty, the unknown, or that...
