  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

    Abide in Him

Waiting on the Lord involves trusting in who he is, in his word, in his many promises, and in his power, sovereignty and grace in our lives to work out all things in our lives according to his plans and his purposes. Life doesn’t always make sense, and sometimes it may even seem unfair and...

    A Still Small Voice

I was talking with the Lord about how quiet he was, and then the phrase, “a still small voice” came to mind. I remembered that God had spoken to Elijah in a “still small voice” or in a “gentle whisper.” That was when Elijah was discouraged because of his powerful enemy who was coming against...

    A Believer's Prayer

Coming to faith in Jesus Christ means so much more than just Jesus forgiving us of our sins so that we can go to heaven one day. When we trust Jesus to be our Lord and Savior, we give our whole heart and devotion to him to obey him, to forsake our former lives of sin, and to follow him wherever...

In the Stillness of the Midnight

In the stillness of the midnight When all’s quiet and serene All the hustle bustle still now And a person rarely seen You can hear a drop of water Hear the tinkle of a bell Hear the ticking of an old clock And can say that all is well It is peaceful now, so quiet All that chitter chatter gone...

    What's Your Purpose?

What’s Your Purpose? Why you be? Are you trapped? Or are you free? In and out is where you are? Sometimes nearer? Sometimes far? Broken record played each time? Nothing changes, not in time? Worn out efforts do not work So you angry? So you irk? What’s the purpose, shrink from all? You no...

    Hello Friends

Hello friends! How are you? How are you this day? What’s doing in your life? What have you to say? Do you have a prayer Or a praise on your lips? Is all going well or Are things now amiss? Are you of good fortune Or desperate for help? Will you now be silent Or will you now tell? Are tears...

    Wayward Children

Wayward children, wandering souls, Thoughtless people, varying roles, Walk in darkness, seeing no light, For from Jesus, taken their flight. Have no mercy, walking in sin, Self-indulgent, drinking their gin, All about them, not about God, But the many wear a façade. Put a mask on, others...

    It's Passing Away

The world as we know it is passing away. Corrosion, corruption have come here to stay. The lies and deceptions are plain as can be. They capture the multitudes; few are now free. They kill and they trick and they lie through their teeth. They think they’re above, but they’re really beneath. So...

    Clouds and Thunder

Clouds and thunder, days of hunger, Enemies lurking, liars working, Not good fellows, armies bellow, All asunder, bad men blunder. Time is ticking, truth not clicking, Faith in God to wise men sticking. Foolishness is now accepted, Truth of God is intercepted. Truth and lies now interchanging...

I Want to Draw You a Picture

Based off Revelation 2:1-29; Revelation 3:1-22 I want to draw you a picture, Not for your mantel or fixture. It’s drawn with letters and numbers, Focused on those who do slumber. I know your works and endurance, How you’ve found in Me assurance. You’ve abandoned love had at first, So, for...

    What Life is About

Life and love and hate and evil, Peace and calm and oft upheaval, Day by day, and ins and outs, Faith and purpose, tears and doubts, Sun and rain and sleet and hail, Live with purpose, sometimes fail, Morning, noon, and nighttime, too, Middle age and old and new, Never know what each day...

    No Tears on Outside

He’s hurting, he’s crying, No tears on outside. He’s injured, he’s stirring, All now kept inside. He’s failing for words To say all that he feels. He cannot express, Cannot make his appeals. His outside is inside, Trapped now in his skin, Knows not where to turn, And his faith’s wearing thin...

    Life's Ups and Downs

Now life, it surely has its ups and downs. We never know when they will come around. We cannot know what tomorrow will bring, So, in every trial, we must sing. We have no control over floods and storms, Over things that happen not in our norms. We can’t anticipate everything. We have to...

Why Do I Do What I Do?

Why do I do what I do each day? Why do I trust God and to Him pray? Why do I give my life up to Him? Why do I live for Him, not for a whim? I have learned many things in my life. Some things I learned from Him, learned in strife. Empty, hurting I was, needed Him. Needed the light of truth, not...

    Jesus Baby in a Manger

Jesus baby in a manger To so many He’s a stranger, Not a threat, though, not a danger, For He just lies in a manger. Jesus man of God in person Makes Himself God, His assertion, Does not give in to coercion For He is God, that’s most certain! Jesus Christ, our living Savior Crucified for our...

Jesus Doesn't Want Just Part of Us

Jesus doesn’t want just part of us Not just part of us, but all our time Doesn’t want just what we’ll give to Him Wants our whole, not part, and not our mime Our Lord Savior Jesus Christ and God Gave His life up for us on a cross So that we’d be forgiven our sins So that we’d live not for self...

    Cards on The Table

As Scriptures teach, I don’t believe there is a pre-trib rapture. From what I read I do perceive that we’ll go all together. For Jesus said we would be there to see the tribulation. And some of us they’ll put to death, but we have our salvation. But don’t be sad, for it’s not bad to suffer for...

If Christmas Really is About Jesus

If Christmas really is about Jesus It should be about the One who freed us The One who delivered us from slavery So that we can now live for Him bravely We should all be living for Him truly Doing what His word teaches us duly Giving honor to Him living daily Doing what He says we’re to do...

    The Christmas Bells are Ringing

    Lies and Betrayals

Lies and betrayals, And many a tale, And multitudes sacrificed While their chiefs hailed. Ribbons and marches, And buildings and arches, And letters of magnitude, And those of gratitude. Crowds of confusion And lots of illusions Leaves many in darkness Regardless of smartness. The enemy...
