Now life, it surely has its ups and downs.
We never know when they will come around.
We cannot know what tomorrow will bring,
So, in every trial, we must sing.

We have no control over floods and storms,
Over things that happen not in our norms.
We can’t anticipate everything.
We have to remember Jesus is King.

So, we give it all to Jesus our Lord,
Trusting our lives in His hands, one accord.
Letting go of that o’er which no control,
Trusting in Him, not in part, but in whole.

For He has a plan, a plan for it all
That on Jesus we will certainly call –
Learn from Him all that He wants us to do
When the trials of life we will go through.

This poem was written a year ago. Our apartment was flooded on Christmas Eve, then we had to move into a hotel for about two weeks. On New Year's Eve (my birthday), Rick (my husband) got sick and so we were not able to attend my birthday party. At midnight I then got sick and was very ill the next 6 weeks where I had trouble getting food down. Then I lost about half my hair, and it took about half a year for me to really get back on my feet. So I wrote this before I got sick not knowing what the next several months was going to be like for me. But I did write it a week after our flood. And I scheduled it to be posted on the 31st of last year on my primary blog. But somehow it got posted a year later, today, on my 74th birthday. But God's timing is always perfect, so he had a reason for delaying this for a year and for it to be published on my blog today.
