  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

What does God expect of me?

A vital question that sometimes can make me think, what do my fellow Christians or the Pastor, expect me to be? Sometimes I find it easier to tell God what I expect of Him... to watch over me, comfort me, heal me, forgive me, Now I must think and pray after asking myself this question

How easily and lightly, does the Holy Spirit remind you (of all things)?

Hi there, So I've only just barely started to realize that the level of complexity in my memories, has a negative effect on how much I can remember - the more complex I expect them to be. This in turn, means that I am more reluctant to learn from the Holy Spirit (I don't have to pretend that I...

    True to The Cross

Philippians 2:1-4 ESV Therefore if there is any encouragement in Christ, if there is any consolation of love, if there is any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affection and compassion, make my joy complete by being of the same mind, maintaining the same love, united in spirit, intent on one...

A Reminder: Who do we think we are?

In every conversation that I have read and every conversation in which I have participated here, there is a point-of-view matter I think should be addressed, because we keep missing it. We say, concerning unbelievers, that they don't understand the relationship of believer to God, and we apply...

    The Cop-out "i'm Only Human"

I just heard a song on one of the threads here saying "I'm only human, don't put the blame on me." We have heard the first part of this phrase a lot, as well as "We are all human, we all make mistakes." Yes that is true, but let's not use that as a cop-out or as an excuse, setting us up or...

    The Attitude of Prayer

Is there really a "true" way to pray? I feel as if it is different for everyone. For example, when I pray I feel more connected with God when I close my eyes and look up at the sky as opposed to downward. Some may view this as an act of defiance, though my only intention is to feel closer to...

    Arm Yourselves

Thursday, August 18, 2016, 6:30 a.m. – The Lord Jesus put in mind the song “As The Deer.” Speak, Lord, your words to my heart. I read 1 Peter 4 (ESV). For the Will of God (3:18; 4:1-6) For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God...
