A vital question that sometimes can make me think, what do my fellow Christians or the Pastor, expect me to be?
Sometimes I find it easier to tell God what I expect of Him... to watch over me, comfort me, heal me, forgive me,
Now I must think and pray after asking myself this question

You are acceptable to God in the Beloved. What other people expect of you is irrelevant. We should seek to be free from sin and behaviours that are not acceptable to God. That follows on from being a new creation in Christ. Trying to be a good Christian in order to please God is pointless. Let Jesus live out His life, in you, through and in place of you. Lord Jesus has no trouble living the Christian life. For everyone else, it is impossible.

we don't "tell" God to do anything. we are all unworthy of His love. we must implore Him, humbly. God is the only one we please, not pastors and other Christians.
Oops, wrong word, of course we ask God... thank you for pointing out that..:)

I believe God wants us to be a living witness for Him, in both words and deeds. As well, to evangelize and proclaim the Great Commission.
Thank you so much for your comment, that is so true. :)

My answer would be that I would expect you to be no-one other than yourself. We can do nothing to make God love us any more and can do nothing to make Him love us less. As Psalm 139 states, we were created and knit together by Him and He already knows every detail about us. Even our hairs are numbered (Luke 12:7).
I would never expect you to be "perfect", just as I am not perfect, but for you to believe and trust that our Lord loves you with a perfect love and, whatever your circumstances, He has plans to prosper you and to give you hope (Jeremiah 29:11). My prayer for you would be that He will be close to you (James 4:8) and that you will abide in His love (John 15:9-11). He will never leave you or forsake you (Hebrews 13:5) and together you will accomplish amazing things (Philippians 4:13).

He has shown you, O mortal, what is good.
And what does the Lord require of you?
To act justly To act justly and to love mercy and
to walk humbly with your God. (Micah 6:8)
Thankyou for one of my favourite verses

God has made us in his own image, this is a wonderful passage, 1 Peter 1

A Call to Holy Living
13 So prepare your minds for action and exercise self-control. Put all your hope in the gracious salvation that will come to you when Jesus Christ is revealed to the world.

14 So you must live as God’s obedient children. Don’t slip back into your old ways of living to satisfy your own desires. You didn’t know any better then.

15 But now you must be holy in everything you do, just as God who chose you is holy.

16 For the Scriptures say, “You must be holy because I am holy.

God expects us to come just as we are. He can take care of all the rest!

Just as I am, without one plea
But that Thy blood was shed for me
And that Thou bid'st me come to Thee
O Lamb of God, I come.

Just as I am, though tossed about
With many a conflict, many a doubt
Fighting and fears within without
O Lamb of God, I come.

Just as I am, and waiting not
to rid my soul of one dark blot
to thee whose blood can cleanse each spot
O Lamb of God, I come.

Just as I am, poor, wretched, blind
Sight, riches, healing of the mind
Yea, all I need, in Thee to find
O Lamb of God, I come.

Just as I am, Thou wilt receive
Wilt welcome, pardon, cleanse, relieve
Because Thy promise I believe
O Lamb of God, I come.

Thankyou for posting this hymn,'Anthony'. It means so much to me and reminds me of the day I first came to the Saviour and put my trust in Him!
