No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

While the individuals themselves may not personally be evil, and maybe even thought what they were doing was right by defending Maduro, they were defending evil.


One could just as easily say that not all German soldiers during WW2 were personally evil, but defeating them on the battlefield still represented a defeat of evil.

WIthout getting into a moral witch hunt about the moral standards of individual soldiers, Christ's words still ring true. "Whoever lives by the sword will die by the sword".

That could apply to Cuban soldiers guarding the foreign dictator Maduro, and it could just as easily have applied to the US soldiers who snatched Maduro, but this time "got lucky".

German soldiers "lived by the sword" in WWII, and allied soldiers "lived by the sword". Both sides lost a lot of men, regardless of their individual moral standards.

Not comparing the two men in terms of "level of evil" obviously.

Just making a point about how soldiers themselves don't have to be "personally evil" in order to defend something that is evil.

I think there are some quite objective metrics we can look at to make these sorts of determinations.

Not to mention, it's not like it's a case were we're the only ones asserting it, and the rest of the world is like "What are you talking about? Maduro isn't that bad, he's actually just a little quirky and rough around the edges"



In February 2018, the International Criminal Court (ICC) announced that it would open preliminary probes into the alleged crimes against humanity performed by Venezuelan authorities.

The 400-page report in 2018 that alleged that crimes against humanity have been committed in Venezuela during Maduro's presidency. The Board concluded that Maduro could be "responsible for dozens of murders, thousands of extra-judicial executions, and more than 290 cases of torture"


Also:
The third and last report of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights addressed extrajudicial executions, torture, enforced disappearances, and other rights violations allegedly committed by Venezuelan security forces in recent years.[263] The High Commissioner Michelle Bachelet expressed her concerns for the "shockingly high" number of extrajudicial killings and urged for the dissolution of the FAES.

Oh, I agree he is bad. The issue I have is calling him "evil". That is a religious term and had justified atrocities throughout history.
