Also, 'normal social behavior' may equate to consumerism, but that doesn't equate to greed, they're entirely different things.

Actually you're mistaken, our society is built upon propagating the species, not the self, otherwise acts of self-sacrifice would make absolutely no sense. Again, you're confusing normal social behavior with greed. That's simply a fallacy.

What that statement means to me: I don't know how perfect or imperfect you are, and I don't care. You... are simply you. You may make me smile. You may make me cry. You may make me angry. Or you may make me proud. But whichever of these things you do, know that I accept you for simply being you.

In my opinion the problem isn't that we are who we are. The problem is that we despise who we are... we can't seem to accept the fact that we're just people. Imperfect, sinful, struggling people. This is true for me, it's true for you, and it's true for everybody. We're just people. The Pharisees looked at Christ's followers and saw sinners, and tax collectors, and outcasts. But what do you think Christ saw?

The same is true for you and me today. You look at the world and see sinners. I look at the world and just see people.

I can't help but wonder though, judging by my avatar, if you saw me on the street today, what would you see? Please, don't see the sinner... see the people.

Yes, a large portion of agriculture jobs are filled by illegal immigrants. From the data, it looks like the number hovers somewhere around 40%.

Illegal immigrants also pay an estimated $25 billion in social security taxes annually (based on data from 2022), with very few of them poised to ever draw from the program - so they have a net positive effect on the program. Although $25 billion is a small fraction of the $1.4 trillion social security budget, its still something. Some of the estimates that I saw (from the CBO, I believe) projected that the combined effect of deportations and Trump's proposed "no tax on social security benefits" would force social security payment cuts about 3 years sooner than previously expected.

The U.S. has known that social security would be a problem for quite some time - and unfortunately, multiple administrations continue not to address the issue. And the more we keep kicking the can down the road, the more difficult it is to deal with.

Every thing we do is self motivated.
Christ's desire to offer himself as the sacrifice for humanity tho painful beyond what we may comprehend, it was beneficial for us, yet, self motivated.

It may be giving, or taking.

We determine our responses. We choose which direction we walk.
Even when we choose to follow Christ, it pleases us to do so.

I believe self satisfaction is the motivation for every thing a man does,
with the exclusion of the rare sudden imposition.
Even then we may have contributed to the event and retain the freedom to choose our response.
This is why God can justly state we will be accountable for all we say and do.

The choices in this world are;
Serve God
Serve yourself
There are no others.
When we choose God, it pleases us.
It brings life.

Nature has determined the propagation of the species. It is hardwired.
Society, social customs and norms are determined by men.
Society is not for making babies, it is for safety and preservation of the individuals which make up the whole in a fashion that serves the general populace.

One thing that I've learned over the years is that it's very difficult to judge what other people do until you understand why they do it. The 'what' is easy, the 'why' is hard, and because the why is hard we have a tendency to just write people off as greedy, or prideful, or lazy. We do that not necessarily because we're judgmental or self-righteous, but simply because we're people. We're imperfect beings in an imperfect world. We see the splinters in other people's eyes, but miss the logs in our own.

Are my flaws truly lesser than yours, or just different?

Hence we were removed from the Garden to suffer the consequences of those actions. Some actually make what humans consider a great life of it as a result but that is their only reward, having pursued the wrong things for the wrong reasons. Even some churches brag about their wealth.

It does not matter whose sin is greater. If we offend in one we offend all. "For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it." What people do and why they do it are two different things. There is a difference between a reason and an excuse. We may have our reasons, they do not excuse us. "Shall we do evil that good may come of it? God forbid."
We are to pray for discernment. We are to "test the spirits, to see if they are from men or God." We are to judge the church. Not the world. We are to ascertain the works of Christians, not to pronounce eternal death. "Better is the rebuke of a friend than the flattery of an enemy." There are times we do stop trying with some people. We may not be the right one to reach them. Or, the time may not be right for them. Remember, " If anyone will not welcome you or listen to your words, leave that home or town and shake the dust off your feet?
