What should have been a mundane Oklahoma State Board of Education executive session Thursday turned shocking after board members saw naked women appear on a TV screen behind Ryan Walters, the Oklahoma State Superintendent of Public Instruction and board chair, in his office, according to The Oklahoman.
The Independent has reached out to Walters for comment. A spokesperson for Walters branded the incident as a "junk tabloid lie” to the outlet.
Now, the state’s Senate has launched a porn probe.....
“This is a bizarre and troubling situation that raises serious questions about the events and what took place during yesterday’s executive session at the Oklahoma State Board of Education meeting,” Paxton told the outlet in a statement. “The accounts made public by board members paint a strange, unsettling scene that demands clarity and transparency.”....
Becky Carson, a board member who attended the meeting, said she was "disturbed" by what she saw on TV.
“I saw them just walking across the screen, and I’m like, ‘no.’ I’m sorry I even have to use this language, but I’m like, ‘Those are her nipples.’ And then I’m like, ‘That’s pubic hair.’...I was so disturbed by it…I was very stern, like I’d been a mother or a classroom teacher. And I said, ‘What am I watching? Turn it off now!’” she told The Oklahoman.

Walters then promptly shut it off, Carson told the outlet.
I am glad they are starting a probe.

Maybe he was watching a French tv station or some European country
In Oklahoma. Right.

This is the fellow who wanted a Trump Bible in every classroom and wants some other books removed, and insisted students watch when he prayed for Trump.

Ryan Walters fires back:

“Any suggestion that a device of mine was used to stream inappropriate content on the television set is categorically false,” Walters—who ordered all public schools in his state to teach the Bible last year and who has labeled modern education “absurd“—posted on X Sunday.

“I have no knowledge of what was on the TV screen during the alleged incident, and there is absolutely no truth to any implication of wrongdoing.”

Senate President Pro Tem Lonnie Paxton, R-Tuttle, said the inquiry is being led by the Office of Management and Enterprise Services and “leadership at the agency is working through proper channels to initiate the investigation.”
The Oklahoman and NonDoc reported Friday that board members Ryan Deatherage and Becky Carson said they saw the pictures on a television in Walters’ office during a State Board of Education executive session that was held July 24.
“This is a bizarre and troubling situation that raises serious questions about the events and what took place during yesterday’s executive session at the Oklahoma State Board of Education meeting,” Paxton said in a statement. “The accounts made public by board members paint a strange, unsettling scene that demands clarity and transparency. Senator (Adam) Pugh and I appreciate the quick action by OMES to help coordinate through this situation to get details on exactly what happened. More transparency is essential before strong conclusions can be drawn.”
The response by some MAGA congressmen is just to attack the character of the two that saw it. Like Trump. Walters was at work. This was a TV owned by the the State Board of Education and was at the Executive Session. Those TVs are filtered. I worked for a school district and couldn't look up 'adult education' to look for CPR training/testing, parenting classes and similar things because it had the word 'adult',
He isn't going to get European TV on that system.

He probably has internet tv. Politicians are have some of the highest moral standards there are, other wise they would never be elected in America.

I am glad I was not drinking anything when I read the second sentence.

Yeah, districts and state agencies have the internet, but there are controls.

Interesting to read the defense of him though..... Is there a bottom?

Is there a recording of the meeting? I'm thinking there must not be if he's denying it happened.
I don't know. That is something to find out.

I do not understand why this is considered a significant issue. Unlike twenty years ago, many evangelical Christians today appear to be more accepting of nudity, sexual behavior outside of marriage, and the open objectification of women and their bodies.

There is a new term for it, it calls “ locker room talk, all buys do that” .

p.s. -Now, it you want to know biblical principle. Then it is a different story!

IIRC, this was a session closed to the public.

Still, there might be a recording. OTOH, the board members who saw something said only they had a good angle to see his screen.

Slow news day today?

I had to chuckle at this part:
Becky Carson, a board member who attended the meeting, said she was "disturbed" by what she saw on TV.

“I saw them just walking across the screen, and I’m like, ‘no.’ I’m sorry I even have to use this language, but I’m like, ‘Those are her nipples.’ And then I’m like, ‘That’s pubic hair.’...I was so disturbed by it

So this Becky person was "disturbed" by seeing another woman's nipples? and feels the need to say "sorry to use this language" referring to such? She does realize that "nipples" and "pubic" aren't bad words, right?

If she's that uptight at home, I'm guessing she'd be in for a shock if she saw her husband's search history.

There is a certain shock when you expect professional behavior at an Executive meeting at the State Board of Education, and the one is charge has what is being described as a video with nudity in it. That isn't appropriate, nor what you would expect from a holy-roller like Walters.

It is an issue when it is at work. It is an issue when the one with the nudity on their TV screen is so condemning of liberals and the left, and what he perceives is porn when in public.

The conservative evangelical churches I went to never accepted the nudity.

Didn't you hear? He's a Trump supporter who wanted Trump bibles in every classroom. That makes it a front page headline viral news story.

Gotta like love that grammar coming from a school board member.

He is the Superintendent of Schools for the state of Oklahoma.
But the main focus is he's a Trump supporter who wanted Trump bibles in every classroom. It's highly doubtful the left would otherwise care about an adult having 1960s images of naked women.
