Battle of Los Angeles: Anti-ICE Leftists Go Berserk Against Federal Agents, Storm DHS Facility

Mayhem ensued when ICE raids were conducted in Los Angeles yesterday. Like in Minneapolis, leftists came out of the woodwork to berate and disrupt federal agents enforcing immigration laws. Unlike that incident, however, it didn’t lead to what I was told is an act of armed rebellion: anti-ICE activists stormed a federal building, and the local police were nowhere to be found.

True - they missed out on the all out assault on Federal Buildings including assaulting Federal Officers - throwing pieces of concrete at them and damaging the building - Isn't that called insurrection?

Exactly. When the government acts against the interests of the people or abuses its power, the people are justified in resisting.

The people who practice civil disobedience accept arrest and then take the matter to court.

The courts determine whether the law they broke should be upheld.

Forcing the law to be proven in court is the point of civil disobedience.

Not quite. The point is to gain attention or hinder the opposition. The legality of what is being protested (whether the ICE detention push or lunch counter segregation) will not be settled by the cases brought against those charged during protests.

In the places where civil disobedience made tremendous change, such as British India and the Jim Crow South, they didn't expect the courts to rule in their favor but for the laws to be changed from pressure from the public.
