Romans 2:12 kjv says those who sin without the law will perish…while those sin under the law shall be judged
what exactly happens when you parish?
please explain to me how that works… is there no hope after death for them?

is there forgiveness after death? I mean doesn’t god have the right to pardon a person in judgement?
there’s no judgement for those without the law?
what is “without the law“ really mean?

the nlt labels the gentiles as those who parish and the Jews being judged… isn’t that perverting the scriptures?

A couple of things to consider "perish" may not be the same things as consciously tormented forever.
If judgment is proportional to works (Rev 20:13), one would expect it to be just.
Eternal life is called a "gift" of God. Why would it be given to those who reject God?
There were times in the past that God "winked" at. This may mean that those who were ignorant, while not receiving eternal life, are not punished.

Regarding translation you might find this bolg article interesting

Does not know the Decaglogue (Ten Commandments).

They both come to the same end--ruin.

The Jews were given the Torah (the Law).
Gentiles were not given the Torah.

The Jews were under the Torah.
Gentiles were not under the Torah.

St. Paul's point is that both Jews and Gentiles are sinful. This is what leads him to his statement, "For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God". The "all" in "all have sinned" is Jews and Gentiles.

So when the NLT says Gentiles (those without the Law) perish (are condemned by their sin); and that the Jews (who are under the Law) shall be judged, it means the same thing. Those "without the Law" are the Gentiles; those "under the Law" are the Jews.

And that's why since everyone (both Jew and Gentile) is a sinner, everyone (both Jew and Gentile) needs the grace of the Gospel.
