  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I was referring to one sleeping with their GF at an after-prom party as being the bad decision.

However, if one is going to insist on doing that, then using protection is the lesser of two evils. That's what I meant.
Prom is at age 17 to 18, isn't it?

I think that at that age, if both are consenting and not under the influence, they are old enough to make that decision.

For instance, at some of the smaller districts around here, the "elementary" and "middle school" are all the same building (they call it something different on paper for administrative reasons, but it's all the same physical building for K-8). In some really small local school districts, k-12 is all under the same physical roof.
I went to one of those schools for 7 years. The elementary school was in the old HS with the cafeteria (for all students) in the old HS gym. Subject like music, gym, and art had one teacher for all of K-12.

Probably depends on the school... ours was 10th, 11th, and 12th.
(with the caveat that the person in those grades could have a date who was wasn't in those grades)

So at ours, you'd see ages ranging from 15 to 20 in some cases.

Nevertheless, still pretty young to be exposing themselves to that kind of risk. Getting pregnant in High school is never an "ideal" situation.

But like I noted before, I'm fully aware that some are still going to do it, and it's better if protection is being used if they're going to insist on doing it.

It seems to be half people wanting to sexualize children and half people stupid enough to let children be sexualized.
I agree completely.

Yup, the junior class and senior class have a joint prom, after the dinner and dance there is an after prom. Then they go home or do other activities ;)
