A school shooting in Iowa just occurred when a male who identified himself as part of the LGBTQ community entered the school on the first day of classes after the break and shot three people before killing himself.

Two gunshot victims were taken by ambulance to Iowa Methodist Medical Center in the state capital of Des Moines, a health system spokesperson said. Some other patients were transported to a second hospital in Des Moines, a spokesperson for MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center confirmed, declining to comment on the number of patients or their statuses.

As the story develops it discovered that the shooter had been posting on social media that he identified as gender fluid, acted out a shooting and had trans supporting messages on his social media pages. These pages are being quickly removed.

This person was obviously mentally disturbed. More details will be coming as the story develops.

But we seem to have another shooting from the mentally ill LGBTQ community.

Remember back in 2011 or so when Dan Savage started the "It Gets Better" campaign to encourage lgbtq kids who were experiencing shame and bullying and help prevent suicides, and the Christian Right got mad because they saw it as a move to promote gayness?

How does this actually work? You read about a school shooting and see that the guy is gay. 'Oh, good. A great opportunity to take a swing at LGBT people.'

Because it's too soon to talk about gun laws this close to a shooting. It's never too soon to take shots at the gays.

To prevent people from swarming them with hateful comments? To prevent people from finding out who their friends and family were and attacking/harassing them? To prevent the crazies from turning them into a sort of shrine? Taking down or deleting a person's social media pages does not hinder the investigation in any way - Facebook, Twitter, etc all archive everything for a certain amount of time, and that data will be made available to investigators.

I knew those lgbqt's whatever cant be trusted. I said that in another thread when they were trying to make DHZTB's sound wholesome or something.

Is this a result of the schools teaching the kids they can be gay or change genders? Maybe. They got those kids all confused nowadays. Conclusion: The Government has no business in the education of children because they are not doing very well if they teach the kids this junk and then the kids go off like this one did, then they have failed in education.

Doesn't it make the queer boy a coward for him to kill himself instead of taking on some real men? Let's go kill some defenseless kids then turn coward.

If they had any at all, I bet it was minimum wage security guards. (To guard Children!)
I've seen news clips from Israel and they have Military people with machine guns guarding their schools!

Maybe we should too.

I read that it happened before school actually started for the day meaning that security may have been lose anyway

something tells me people would say that would go too far. I support arming teachers ( though not making such mandatory where you have to carry to teach.

I will say that I have no problem with someone being gay as long as they do not force it on me. In fact, I happen to believe that actually being gay in and of itself is not a choice ( now acting on it is)but everyone has that choice whether to act on sexual desires.

The op sets the bar so low that one thinks it can't get worse. I've been here long enough. I should know better.

I'll give you a definition of cowardice if you like. Let's say that someone knows that a person they know is gay. A work colleague perhaps. A friend's son maybe. A relative. Do you think they'd have the courage of their convictions to tell their boss, or the kid's mother that he is unwholesome? How about the guts to tell the person to their face 'hey queer boy, you can't be trusted'.

Nah, they wouldn't. They may use disgusting terms like that in a forum where they are anonymous. But actually say those things to the people themselves? Fat chance.
