I am currently reading into the Book of Enoch in which he made a little headway into our current Bible...

And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints, To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him. - Jude 1:14-15

And behold! He cometh with ten thousands of His holy ones. To execute judgement upon all and to destroy all the ungodly: And to convict all flesh of all the works of their ungodliness which they have ungodly committed and of all the hard things which ungodly sinners have spoken against Him. - Book of Enoch 1:9

Reading into the Book of Enoch I find largely judgements against the Ungodly. After reading into most of that I went to church this morning thankful we live in the age of grace where we can find a walk with the Holy Spirit. I also wonder why more of Enoch was not included in our compilation of scripture.

It is considered to be pseudepigraphical because it is falsely attributed to Enoch which is why it was never included by the early Hebrew writers. There were many books written during the intertestamental period reflecting the diversity of Jewish thought but not necessarily the Word of God.
Blessings.

Sincere question here. I've read Enoch because I collect religious texts as part of my degree and I'm a religious and history nerd.

However, I honestly don't understand why Protestants are so interested in Enoch. Y'all argue that you reject the Deuterocanonical books of the Catholic and Orthodox church but then dive into Enoch which has never been accepted by any Jewish or Christian body other than the Ethiopian church. Would someone be willing to share your reasons for your interest?

I think it's because it contains seemingly familiar concepts and themes that are common to both Christianity and that particular sect, and many people don't' realize the book's sectarian nature. Most people skip over the boring parts of Enoch having to do with calendars and such, not realizing their theological significance to that particular 2nd Temple Jewish sect.. Both Christianity and the sect that created and kept "Enoch" rose out of 2nd Temple Judaism and contain ideas, concepts and themes that were widespread and not concentrated in Christianity only or the Qumran community or Essene sects only.

That said, the "book of Enoch" was a sectarian work and reflected the values and priorities of that particular 2nd Temple Jewish sect. The calendar is one prime example

Do you agree that one of the chief sins of the ungodly was the use of the wrong calendar? Do you use a 364 day solar calendar and agree with and observe Qumran/Enoch/Jubilees halakah? I suggest that the seemingly familiar concepts of "sin", "elect", "judgment", etc...are not the same as that in Christianity. "Enoch" is sectarian in nature and it's a different sect from Christianity. Both sects use common terms and concepts that were at home in 2nd Temple Judaism, yet each sect means something different by them.

It's the section on "the Heavenly Luminaries", and the stuff about 800 foot tall giants, that persuaded me that Enoch was rubbish. Nothing since has led me to think otherwise.

Yea, sounds reasonable to me. I've discovered that most people slowly and quietly back away from it once they discover that, according to this sect, the angels are literal stars who led mankind into sin by abandoning a 364 day solar calendar, this sect was the "elect" (with secret knowledge disclosed from God), everyone else would be judged for not following the rules and knowledge disclosed to the people at Qumran, etc... This sect would likely have opposed Jesus as much as anyone else.
