A comprehensive program to Make Birth Free would also reduce pregnancy and childbirth costs overall, making the program more cost-effective over time. This is because many of the sticker costs associated with pregnancy and childbirth result from misaligned financial incentives for healthcare providers.

At last something I can get behind coming from the pro-life camp. Let' see how it does with the "I will do anything to stop abortion unless it costs anything or in any way lessens the burden on those filthy floozies who got knocked up" crowd.

I like that!

I even would wager it would IMPROVE maternal mortality rates in the US which should be viewed as a national shame.
You should know by now that we're beyond shameless.

It's the second time you've told me :) (at least). I should maybe stop bringing it up though.
Oh I don't blame you. It's hard enough for me to accept a lot of things about my own country and I'm here amongst it, they have to be even harder to swallow watching from a distance.

Honestly, it kinda is Desk. On reddit I hear from a lot of "working class" and retail types and their situation sounds, not JUST untenable but pretty unjust. And when I hear the "pick up your bootstraps" or "folks wanna be poor" or this idea that America is a raving success, it's just totally lost on me as I hear the echoes of their terrible treatment.

For a group of people who tend to be hesitant to believe in Evolution, Republicans sure try to ensure other people's demise for their own benefit.

That is interesting. I wonder what Congress thinks about it.
In the House 213 for, 222 against.
In the Senate 51 for, 49 against.

With the pro-life? Party constituting the no votes.

I wonder when the Republican Party plans to help Americans. I imagine it might be any day now..... but maybe not.

They are going to call gutting Social Security "saving" Social Security (in other words turning it into"Social INsecurity.")
When they represent their intentions so blatantly read the fine print!

Even if there are GOP that want to help Americans, they would be knocked out of the party if they do.

Sounds like a good start, but as far as expenses related to having a kid go, childbirth is the cheap part.
Over time raising a child will will cost more but as far as lump sums birthing the kids is up there.

Over time? We just got done shopping for daycares. The better-than-average-but-not-top-tier ones were all $19-21k/yr for a toddler. That’s $10k/yr less than the minimum wage we currently pay our nanny. Even the cheap ones are $1k/mo.

Yes, over time. I have never dealt with a day care that wanted a years worth of fees at enrolment.
