How should we keep the Sabbath holy?

By example and through the commandment. As was said they were instructed not to do their own work. Work is anything we do. The Hebrew word for work there is pretty interesting. It paints a picture of who we are, what we do as a person. Our work, what we do sends out a message as to who we are. It literally means walking message, a message through action.

Jesus worked as did the Father, as they are one....


John 5:17 But Jesus answered them, My Father worketh hitherto, and I work.




We are called to be one with them.

The work of God is to believe in the Son of God, the Apostles believed and forsook all the work they had previously done. ( as it was not the work of God and they had not believed, until Jesus shows the way to do the works of the Father who sent Him)


Jesus finished the works and entered into His rest then.


We labour to enter or fall after the same example of unbelief ( of resting on sabbath and not forsaking all unbelief to Christ as our example of the Holy Apostles of the Lord did)..



Hebrews 4:8 For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day.
9 There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.
10 For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.
11 Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.

For the most part everything you post is pulled out of context. And when even the simplest things are shown to you you ignore them and post more scripture taken out of context. Which sadly has nothing to do with what instigated the conversation in the first place. Like there is some disconnect. So with that being said there is no point in entering into any discourse with you unless there is a change in your mannerism. Prayers, Take care...


When we do God's work we do it through God's will and power. Jesus did not even take credit for doing Spiritual work. He said of Himself, He (God) doeth the work. And Paul confirmed Jesus' word in relation to us. He said, "It is God that works in us both to will and do His good pleasure."

Did Jesus rest sabbath, did the disciples of Jesus rest sabbath ?


Did Jesus heal on sabbath ( non life threatening healing) see my new thread on what Judaism and SDA's think about this.

Jesus and the disciples showed us how to keep the Sabbath holy throughout the New Testament. They showed us by going to temple preaching and reading God’s Word. Luke 4:16. Acts 18:4

Jesus taught us to do good on the Sabbath, so another way to honor God’s Sabbath is helping people who are in need or are sick.

The point of the Sabbath is holy communion between us and our Savior on His holy day.

Sabbath is rest from secular life and labour.



We are called out of secular life..



Mark 10:28 Then Peter began to say unto him, Lo, we have left all, and have followed thee.

Philippians 3:8 Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ,






Rest is the main point of sabbath.



You cannot rest when you are High priest, or when you are in a priesthood, a minister of the new testament.







Psalm 132:9 Let thy priests be clothed with righteousness; and let thy saints shout for joy.

Psalm 132:16 I will also clothe her priests with salvation: and her saints shall shout aloud for joy.

Revelation 1:6 And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

Revelation 5:10 And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.

We can only gather with Jesus, or we are against Him. Doing good is in faith, to Christ, there is no other good, as what is not of faith is sin...

If this is true, there should be some place in scripture that we can go to that shows the Israelites seeing Moses in corporate worship on the sabbath, and doing likewise.

You went from where does it say to worship, to where does it say to corporate worship.

If we tell you they were not to leave their dwellings and in Worshipping God on the Sabbath. That Rest and Sabbath worship is to be done by families within there own dwellings to ensure that not one person was over burden with any responsibility. That all would get the spiritual and physical rest that is needed; would you ANY HERE believe? And that because most who profess are not Spiritually where we need to be? Corporate worship was aloud to ensure the people would get Spiritually fed at the least?
