No. It's very easy to look up the population and area and divide them.

Density (Denmark)
137.65/km2(356.5/sq mi)

Density (US)
87/sq mi (33.6/km2) (146th)

Those statistics are 100% inaccurate.

Denmark is the 12th largest country in the world as it encompasses greenland.

Denmark Is Bigger Than You Ever Imagined

12th largest country in the world, with a population of only 5 million.

There is no way those numbers you posted can be accurate. If they're contrasting geographic size, with population size.

Dude, Greenland is entirely beside the point. We can slice it off without appreciably affecting the population of Denmark. If you want to claim technical correctness, be my guest, but your mendacity is as plain as the nose on your face, and everyone can see what nonsense you're talking.

OK now watch this!
No More Proofs Needed? An expert opinion? Seems like most everyone here agrees it is.

Dude, they said if the situation changes they'll revisit the restrictions.

So what is it? If the REAL science is saying 74% is good enough

Just wash your mouth out with soap. This is not a scientific result. This is a judgment by the health authorities. We'll see how it works out.

Lots of statements made by you.

With zero evidence or supporting facts to back them up.

The problem with population density statistics is they rank denmark the 133rd largest country in the world by land mass and geographic area.

Largest Countries in the World by Area - Worldometer

When in reality, denmark should be ranked 12th due to it including greenland which is massive.

Statistics in this day and age are always inaccurate.

For the same reasons a person would have to dig to get the accurate unemployment numbers.

A standard education should include regions far north of the equator like denmark and canada typically being sparsely populated regions.

Its counter intuitive and goes against basic science to claim that far northern regions like scandinavia are "densely populated".

Dude, they said if the situation changes they'll revisit the restrictions.

But at least you have a whole nations medical professionals saying the 75 % vaccinated is enough. These are professionals correct not a bunch of yahoos.

This is a judgment by the health authorities. We'll see how it works out.

My point is it should be opening the door for this type of percentage to be considered enough and let people get on with their lives without being pressured to take the shot. It could be some nations don't care. They want that 100% compliance even though they may not need it and perhaps won't stop at anything to get it. To me that would be very much unfair.

If Furturama has taught us anything…it is that “technically correct” is the best kind of correct!
So “kudos” for a good tongue-in-cheek argument! Well done.

But yeah, funtime’s over.

Denmark is a sparsely populated country of only 5 million residents. Its so small and has such a low population density it barely counts as a country.

What is possible for sparsely populated rural areas like denmark.

Is not possible for densely populated cities like london with a population of 10 million.

People might view denmark as an example of what is possible for the rest of the world, if a higher percentage of people are vaccinated. Its not.

People always look to micro nations like norway and denmark with their tiny populations of 5 million and say: we can do the same thing in the USA with its population of 300+ million. Its impossible. The benefits of living in a rural and sparsely populated region, never scale to the economies of far larger and more densely populated areas.
Koppenhagen has a population density of 6800 people per square kilometer.
London has a population density of 5701 people per square kilometer.

Denmark overall has a population density of 137 people per square kilometer.
The United Kingdom has a population density of 281 people per square kilometer.

The idea that denmark is a "rural, sparsely populated region" is very mistaken..

It's also very easy to open up google maps and see that denmark is almost entirely made up out of villages, towns and some cities. All the land between those is heavily farmed.

In contrast, Wyoming really is a deserted wasteland more akin to Mongolia.

The Covid-19 virus must be extremely smart to realise that denmark has a technicaly far lower population density because it also encompasses greenland, and modify its infection behaviour accordingly.

Well, either that, or your argument is nonsensical.

There was nothing wrong with the design of the Titanic. It didn't sink because of a design error.

You might want to check a few figures before you start throwing your weight around.

Worldometer (your source) agrees with @essentialsaltes. Denmark's pop density is 137 per sq km while the USA is 36 per sq km.

Denmark is not 'sparsely populated'. It's 88.2% urbanised compared to the US at 82.8%. In other words, a bigger proportion of Danes lives in cities compared to the US.

For a real contrast; Australia has a pop density of 3 but is more urbanised (86%) than the US. We do quick and heavy duty lockdowns, strict quarantining, broad mask mandates, internal state border closures, detailed contact tracing, closure of schools and non-critical businesses, and the occasional curfew.

Our Covid death rate per million is 42 compared to 2033 for the US.

He argues that denmark is sparsely populated because you need to count the almost empty greenland into the landmass.

I know - Greenland's pop is around 57,000. Subtract that from the total Danish pop and you have the Danish mainland population. Dividing the mainland pop into the mainland area gives you the mainland density. If @1rreducibly Complex can manage the math he'll find it's essentially the same as the 137 per sq km figure.

The point he needs to understand (or just acknowledge) is that pop density doesn't mean much in this case. What is important is how closely together people actually live - that's urbanisation, not population density. That's why I gave him the Australian figures.

Both Denmark and Australia are more urbanised than the US, i.e. we generally live more closely together compared to the US. Neither country is 'sparsely populated' in real terms.

After 548 days with restrictions to limit the spread of COVID-19, Denmark's high vaccination rate has enabled the Scandinavian country to become one of the first European Union nations to lift all domestic restrictions.

The return to normality has been gradual, but as of Friday, the digital pass — a proof of having been vaccinated — is no longer required when entering night clubs, making it the last virus safeguard to fall.

As of midnight, the Danish government no longer considers COVID-19 "a socially critical disease."

Jens Lundgren, a professor of viral diseases at the Copenhagen University Hospital said the government would be "quite willing" to reintroduce restrictions if infections spike again.

Per Worldometers, Denmark has had 449 deaths per million citizens from COVID-19.

In comparison, Sweden has had 1,441, and the US 2,031.

Norway and Finland are both under 200.

Not sure if anyone posted about this here yet (didn't look through all the posts), but Finland is currently predicted to reach 80+% vaccination around October to November. We're lagging behind in a few areas.

Edit: found the current numbers now. For the population aged 12 and up, 82,8% have gotten the first dose and 63,9% have two, with the two dose percentage expected to pass 80 around October to November like I wrote before
