Acts 20:32 And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the Word of his Grace,
which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which
are sanctified.

John 17:
15
I do not pray that You should take them out of the world, but that You should
keep them from the evil one.
16
They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world.
17 Sanctify them by Your Truth. Your Word is Truth.
18 As You sent Me into the world, I also have sent them into the world.
19 And for their sake I sanctify Myself, that they also may be sanctified by the Truth.

Hebrews 2:
10
For it was fitting for Him, for whom are all things and by whom are all things,
in bringing many sons to glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect
through sufferings.
11 For both He who sanctifies and those who are being sanctified are all
of one,
for which reason He is not ashamed to call them brethren.

Zechariah 3:7 Thus saith the Lord of hosts; If you will walk in my ways, and if you
will keep my charge, then you shall also judge my house, and shalt also keep my courts,
and I will give you access among those that abide.

I believe I was called to serve those around me, and to be a good example. :holy: Being a servant puts you in center of the action. This has worked out pretty well for them (imo) and for me.:)

The purpose is eternal life:

"When you were slaves of sin, you were free in regard to righteousness. But then what return did you get from the things of which you are now ashamed? The end of those things is death. But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the return you get is sanctification and its end, eternal life. For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." Rom 6:20-23

The purpose is to bear fruit.
Romans 6:
21
What fruit did you have then in the things of which you are now ashamed?
For the end of those things is death.
22 But now having been set free from sin, and having become slaves of God,
you have your fruit
to sanctification, and the end, everlasting life.
The translation you are using separates this passage from dozens of others that speak
of bearing the fruit of righteousness. What does John 15 say in that version?

G2590 - karpos - Strong's Greek Lexicon (KJV)

Romans 6:19 I speak in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh. For just as you
presented your members as slaves of uncleanness, and of lawlessness to lawlessness, so now
present your members as slaves of righteousness for sanctification.
Become a slave of righteousness to serve His Purpose.
2 Timothy 1:9
who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works,
but according to His own purpose and grace which was given to us in Christ Jesus before
time began,
Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God,
to those who are the called according to His Purpose.
Ephesians 1:11
In Him also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according
to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His Will.

By Sanctification, access the Life that is in Christ.

Galatians 2:20 I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me;
and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.

Alright-and without fruit we have no salvation. It's a free gift because He, alone, delivers us from sin unto righteousness.
Yes, without salvation, we cannot bear fruit. Salvation and the Holy Spirit are a free gift.
Sanctification leads to bearing the fruit of righteousness.

John 15:4 Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides
in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.

Someone can believe, and then not bear fruit.
Luke 8:14 Now the ones that fell among thorns are those who, when they have heard, go out
and are choked with cares, riches, and pleasures of life, and bring no fruit to maturity.

For What Purpose? To Bear Fruit.
Sanctified How? Here is an example.

Acts 13:
1
Now in the church that was at Antioch there were certain prophets and teachers:
Barnabas, Simeon who was called Niger, Lucius of Cyrene, Manaen who had been
brought up with Herod the tetrarch, and Saul.
2 As they ministered to the Lord and fasted, the Holy Spirit said, Now separate to Me
Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them
.
3 Then, having fasted and prayed, and laid hands on them, they sent them away.

Sanctified means to be set aside, or separated for His Purpose. To the degree that we offer
ourselves as a living sacrifice to the Lord is the degree to which we can bear fruit by the
working of the Holy Spirit in our lives.

Romans 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present
your bodies a living sacrifice, holy (sanctified), acceptable to God, your reasonable service.

Alright. In the Christian faith justification is a free gift of grace, in response to faith which, itself, is gift of grace, and one that we can accept and act on...or not. Once justified we can continue to walk in that state of justice, enabled by the Spirit...or not; we can turn back away from God at any point. But to the extent that we remain in Him the fruit of sanctification will be evident. It's a partnership endeavor:
"Therefore, brothers and sisters, we have an obligation—but it is not to the flesh, to live according to it. For if you live according to the flesh, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live." Rom 8:12-13

Sanctified How? For What Purpose?

1. By our rebirth which breaks our addiction to the enslaving power of evil restoring our free will by becoming the legitimate children of GOD: Jn 1:12 But to all who did receive Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God—

2, By our calling: Gal 5:13 You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love. which implies that even though our addiction to evil is broken we still have trouble not choosing the pleasures and profits of sin.

3. By our training in righteousness by a harsh discipline when we lapse: Heb 12:5-11.

To the purpose for GOD to be able to end the postponement of the judgement so HE can cleanse this reality from all evil and start the heavenly marriage as per Matt 13:27 The owner’s servants came to him and said, ‘Sir, didn’t you sow good seed in your field? Where then did the weeds come from?’ 28 ‘An enemy did this,’ he replied.

So the servants asked him, ‘Do you want us to go and pull them up
[bring the judgement upon them]?’ 29 'NO' he said, ‘if you pull the weeds now, you might uproot the wheat with them. 30 Let both grow together until the harvest. which implies it is the sinfulness of the elect wheat which causes us to live with the Satanic here on earth. The only maturity which can save anyone from judgement is a maturity in holiness, in sanctification, and that is the whole business of this earth....to redeem and sanctify HIS sinful elect.
