No, I think you aren't reading what I wrote. I mentioned how supporters said it was stolen by Russia - not that they didn't interfere. Yes, there is a difference. See below:

Let's see...last election. Hillary said it was stolen by Russia. I mean NONE of her supporters brought into that either.

Sorry, but maybe it is you that is confused. We heard for years about how Trump colluded with Russia. Hillary blamed Russia - among a bunch of other stuff.

lol if you seriously need a citation? You have been living under a rock for a while now. It's not that hard to find.

Now, now. Just because you are wrong is not an excuse to get mad. People accused Trump of collusion. They did not try to overturn an election. There is a big difference. And are you denying that there was Russian interference for Trump? If you are I am not the one that has been living under a rock. Here are the facts that both sides agree on. Well, the honest people agree with them. There was Russian interference. Even Republicans found that. The interference was in support of Trump. Donald Trump said some very stupid things that would have been illegal if he did them. He of course said "it was a joke" his constant lame excuse when he is caught doing that. There was no evidence of him colluding with Russia. But there was clear evidence of obstruction of justice. He could have been impeached on that alone, but unfortunately impeachment is a political action and not a legal one. He would almost certainly have lost a legal suit, but as President he is protected from that. The Democrats could see that he would not lose a political suit so they did not impeach him for that.

I don't believe the intent was to overthrow the government. If it was why did they stop? I think it was just a bunch of ticked off people acting out. There is nothing I've heard that says otherwise. Granted I have only talked to two people who made it in not all of them.
I don't believe the intent was to completely eradicate the government and set up a new one. The intent was clearly to overthrow the government for the timeframe of the confirmation of the electoral votes so as to prevent it from happening. The intent was also to cause harm to lawmakers, including hanging Pence from a tree. They stopped because law enforcement finally got control of them, otherwise they would not have stopped. I'm sure there were a bunch of ticked off people acting out, but that group of ticked off people included mostly anti-semites, racists, Proud Boys, and various other violent rebels. I don't have to talk to any of them to know what they did there - it's on video.

Why do you defend people for doing the sin witchcraft (rebellion), which is anti-Christian? (The Word of God says rebellion is the sin of witchcraft)

The vast majority left their weapons behind. They decided that morning it wasn't worth it.
Smart guys. Did they know they were committing crimes on federal property?

Politico reports that Jason Schmid has resigned from the House Foreign Affairs Committee with a blistering letter attacking his party’s efforts to overturn the election.
[Schmid is a Republican congressional staffer]

"The sad, incontrovertible truth is that the people who laid siege to the Capitol were and continue to be domestic enemies of the Constitution of the United States. A poisonous lie that the election was illegitimate and should be overturned inspired so called “patriots” to share common cause with white supremacists, neo-Nazis and conspiracy theorists to attack the seat of American government."

What I find most disturbing of all is that at the peak of the Covid19 crisis, with deaths in the USA alone already totalling over 380,000, a huge gathering of people gathered together and went on a rampage, most of them not wearing face masks. I just hope there are enough ITU beds available to care for the people they potentially infected. I have no words strong enough to describe the unhinged stupidity of those who incited and participated in this unfortunate episode.

And it makes me wonder where we would be if from the beginning Donald Trump was a champion for masks and social distancing as his advisors recommended.

I'd guess it would easily have saved at least 100,000 US lives by now.

It's been over a week since the rally, and I haven't heard about any surges in cases or deaths from those who attended. Let's hope it stays that way.

Sow the wind

Yes, the unrestrained protesting, rioting, looting, and property damage at all kinds of locations including government buildings for months on end all year long - cheered on (or ignored or recategorized as "mostly peaceful protest" in front of burning buildings - did indeed set the stage for this unrestrained activity of about 100+/- people for about 6 hours.

It didn't even start there. Remember the out-of-control protesting and fires and damage that occurred by Hillary supporters when Trump inaugurated in 2016?

The whirlwind was reaped here. And now censoring has begun.

Corona takes 1-2 weeks to show symptoms, 2 weeks more to force people to the hospital and up to 4 weeks after that for them to die.

It can take up to 6 weeks before you'd likely see those types of impacts.

Feeling any better? That virus has some staying power. It's hard to get rid of in some cases.
