• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

It sounds like you might want to consider stopping breastfeeding altogether and get on some good anti-anxiety medication.

Such things make you a normal human being, not a bad mom or anything so no worries there... seems you've breastfed long enough for your baby to have a good start, and switching to formula now isn't a bad thing.

Also, the hormones involved in stress, make it more difficult to let down your milk. Your anxiety levels seem high enough that this may be causing you some issues you aren't considering or realizing.

I am on 2 anti anxiety meds.

Bumble Bee, when I was in my fifties I went through unexplainable horrible anxiety with disoccative periods and even PTSD symptoms. Even though my husband didn't understand what was happening sometimes I just asked him to hold me closely. Sometimes I had a friend I could call just to assure me I wasn't losing my mind. A friend who mainly listened and cared.

What I really want to share with you is that although I had some very angry words to direct at my Lord he never stopped loving me. After he brought me through that time I found I had grown in my faith and trust, especially in his faithfulness to this rebellious child. The best I can give you is the truth that this will pass and you also will look back on it and see how he held onto you. I will pray for you. please keep us updated?

My baby has been in the ICU twice. We almost lost him. I can’t cope. The anxiety is affecting my work and home. I feel a lot of “I can’t” statements. My biggest struggle is the separation anxiety. I am so scared to be away from him. When we are separated for too long I start shaking and have panic attacks.

Bumble Bee,
Don’t let fear absorb you so much that you are paralyses to pray and be there for your baby.

From what you have said, you never once mention the Lord; you only concentrate on your strength and you have not depend yet on His strength.

Pray for God’s strength not only for you but also for your baby.

Speak and believe what the Lord can do for you.

Pray on behalf of your baby. This is what we have heard:

22 And Jesus answered them, "Have faith in God. 23 Truly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, 'Be taken up and thrown into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will come to pass, it will be done for him. 24 Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. 25 And whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone, so that your Father also who is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses."- Mark 11:22-25

The doctor cleared me to come off of my second anxiety med. It has been only a week but so far so good!
Bumblebee,
I am glad that your med is working well.
I suggest that you start speaking healing words over your body in the name of Jesus Christ that you may taste that the Lord is good.
