the pedophile in the church must be treated with love, he suffers inside because his impulses kill him inside.

He is a sick person.

A lot of prayers could resolve anything, and someday he will get up in the morning and will discover he is no pedophile anymore, the pain is gone.

But if the church never helped him, he will keep suffering and then a victim will appear.

Love doesn’t close its eyes to behaviors that damage the individual or innocents. Pedophilia is a crime. We can’t set aside the law of the land to accommodate wishful thinking.

Belief in God doesn’t negate spiritual struggles or strongholds. A person with an uncontrollable desire to have intercourse with children is sexually deviant. Putting children at risk because you believe he’ll get better is irresponsible and subject to lawsuits from future victims. Rightfully so.

You wouldn’t make the thief the treasurer! We must exercise wisdom in our decisions and not be guided by worldly knowledge.

Paul tackled a similar situation in the Corinthian church. This is what he said:

It is actually reported that there is sexual immorality among you, and of a kind that is not tolerated even among pagans, for a man has his father’s wife.

And you are arrogant! Ought you not rather to mourn? Let him who has done this be removed from among you.

For though absent in body, I am present in spirit; and as if present, I have already pronounced judgment on the one who did such a thing.

When you are assembled in the name of the Lord Jesus and my spirit is present, with the power of our Lord Jesus, you are to deliver this man to Satan for the destruction of the flesh, so that his spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord. —1 Corinthians 5:1-5

Nothing is impossible with God. But science, medicine, history, and studies show that pedophilia tends to arise when people are very young adults; therefore it is deeply ingrained and incredibly difficult to treat. Oftentimes the best course of action is for these people to choose a life far away from any interaction with children.

What is there to misunderstand. He took an actual child, placed him in the middle of the disciples and said what He said. There is nothing there to misunderstand or misinterpret. Only those who want Jesus to say something other than what He said. You are comparing apple's and oranges---Peter had a VISION----from Jesus. In Matt. Jesus was there, alive, in person, before the cross, so was the child and the disciples---no vision by anyone.

I believe what lambofgod means about the verse being misunderstood, is there are many commentaries that state Jesus is talking about new believers in general (that have become like little children to enter the Kingdom.) And that it was about undermining a new believers faith. Please note, I'm no Biblical expert, but if you research commentaries (HERE for example) you can see where the idea came from, it is one that was taught in my church too. Now maybe that is all wrong and it is about pedophiles, I don't know.
