When should I read the Bible?
Sometimes in the morning I’m rushed, and I don’t wanna zip right through the Holy Scriptures.
But is that not putting God first?
A lot of times I read at noon, when I can rest and really read.
Thoughts?

Any reading is good to do, but of course it is better to have the time and inclination to do one's study more carefully.

So I'd say that you needn't feel that you're doing anything wrong or disrespectful if in certain situations you do a quick study and at other times you do a more extensive one.

Playing an audio version and listening to God's word is one option you can try in such times. As you keep hearing, it will talk to you, your mind will memorize and you will begin to meditate on it even while you are doing other things.

It is as though the cattle eating its food at once and then backing up in bits to the mouth to chew the cud more completely to better digest their food, when they can sit calmly and rest.

Perhaps in the morning ... pull up a couple verses about Gods love ... and keep them in your mind (ponder them) all day long. Also will help you get through the day.

Study .... should be when you set aside significant time to dedicate to the depth of His word.

I always carry my 3"x 6" "Bible" with me at all times -- some call it a cell phone. I have Amazon's Kindle software installed and I have purchased several Bibles in Kindle format. When I am not at home it's a very convenient way to carry Scripture; I can read God's Word any time I want for as long as I want.

For instance, I have a doctor's appointment today then I'm having lunch in town. In both situations I will be reading Scripture: waiting to see the doctor and while eating.

The most important thing is to read Scripture whenever and wherever you can.

Sometimes it's just comforting to gain a snippet of scripture to dwell on during the day vs detailed study. It's all profitable. Ya know, and sometimes to get that one snippet to dwell on during the day and a question arises from it that needs deeper study when you have time to put into it. Our walk just kind of goes along like that doesn't it ? It's a treasure the lost don't have a clue about. Spiritual diamonds and rubies.

Pray about it. I have listened to dramatized audio bibles while working out, read my Bible in the bathtub with an Amazon kindle OASIS reader (that can survive being dropped in the bathtub). The most fruitful readings in my view is doing a specific study. There are many topics to study. Following the Lord, God's grace, the ontology of God, the communicated Word, love, truth vs. false beliefs (that the Bible talks about), etc. You can do a general word study on the old words in the King James, etc. There is much that can keep you busy all day. But everyone is different, and they need to grow at their own pace with the Lord in undertanding His Word. Ask God to help you in what is best for you. Ask Him the right time to study, and what to study.

I hope this helps;
And may God bless you.

Congratulations, that you are committed to reading the bible on a regular basis. Each of us needs to consider how best to choose the times we read. I want to offer you a suggestion, but of course you may do it differently.

If you have a "verse of the day" feature and make it a habit to read that verse in the morning, you will always be starting your day with God's word and it will give you something to ponder. Then you can schedule a chapter or other length passage reading around noon when you have move time. May God bless you and encourage you in your bible reading.
