Hello friends,
My wife left Christ, and then me for another guy, and now I only get to see my kids on the weekends. I have a testimony of joy through my suffering, and Jesus is giving me strength each day so I’m very grateful. Also I found this forum during the divorce and it’s been a source of encouragement.

I now have a lot of time alone in my house, missing my sons and missing/grieving the death of my wife (her body is still alive but some weird God hating, pot smoking alien demon thing lives in there and she’s nothing like my wife)...
I’ve been staying up really late each night till like 2am watching YouTube videos and playing video games and posting on CF, and it seems like weird self distraction and I don’t think it’s healthy or a good use of my time.

appreciate your prayers for my family, that my ex will find Jesus (again) and so forth.

do you think I should definitely make myself a hard bed time and stick to it? I feel like a 7 year old but idk what else to do I stay up till 2am every night...
Thx
Jeremiah

Hi @GaveMeJoy ; I can't speak of your bedtime; but whatever you do, the daily habit of prayer and the Scriptures must at all costs continue and be 'budgeted' for, in the hours of your daily life.

I do earnestly believe this matters far, far more than whatever bedtime you observe.

I understand with me
probably an age thing?
I'm up and down half the night.

Separation from one's family is a very rough thing. Try to take care of yourself take vitamins, eat good and try to get your sleep.

I totally get the staying up late thing. I'm a night owl myself, for the most part. I too, watch Youtube and even play a game here and there. When I started watching a lot of Youtube, I found myself thinking there had to be more to it than just beauty gurus and such. That's when I started looking for more encouraging, inspirational videos. (Christian music, testimonies, sermons) Actually, listening to Charles Johnson and the Revivers as I type this.
CF is a good place to find encouragement and inspire others. So, after being away for so long, I spend a bit more time here than before. I like to help others as much as I can, so no better online place, than here.
There's no way I would tell anyone that they need to set a particular bed time when I don't sleep well myself. However, if you feel that you're being distracted by unhealthy things, I suggest just switching things up to more soul food. God's Word and the aforementioned things are the things I personally, usually do.
Will keep you and your ex in my prayers.

I'm glad that you found your joy in the Lord in the midst of your sufferings. You see, its only in our difficult times that we learn the deeper lessons of life and not in the good times. Staying up till 2 am is not healthy and you need to change that.
