I as well. But I think it’s going to increasingly become difficult as in maybe 30 to 40 years everyone will be chipped. Just like try to imagine life today without the internet or a smartphone. And you will have a social credit score. I’m 60 but I think of my children and grandchildren....

well ... if it's 30-40 years from now ... I won't see it. I don't and won't have a smart phone. Social credit score ... I wouldn't be surprised about that one. These things are always presented as a "good thing" ... convenience etc. I don't think chipping will be a forced issue ... but who knows?

This. I have heard that some employers now exert pressure on employees to join up with social media and "friend" the company if they are not already on social media. Great way to track people, monitor employees' social and political views, and gather info.
Yes, I know! My oldest child, a college graduate, is lucky to work right now for a small Christian company and the job is not in his field he just had to take it to start paying off his loans. But I'm not unhappy he works there- they still use paper pay checks believe it or not.
MY former job the DM used to check our Facebook pages I know.

Honestly from what I'm seeing it could be right around the corner. I used to read about such things in the 70's and 80's and think it was so far off-but with the way things are going it could be in my lifetime. It doesn't even have to be by force at first. Your life could become so darn inconvenient if you don't. Look how many places won't send out paper manuals or instructions, for example. My last job the health insurance handbook was all online. So was the employee handbook. So were the pay stubs. Anyone who didn't have access to the internet would be inconvenienced.
But I will never get chipped. Not even at the point of a bayonet.I honestly don't like smart phones to be honest.

I will remain "chipless" until I die.
Exactly right.

and/or villainized for stuff they did when they were "young" and really didn't know any better. Anything posted on the internet is there forever ... people should be really mindful of that
I don't have much sympathy for this in general. Stupid is as stupid does.

Regarding the "young" excuse, that is about entitlement rather than youth in my opinion.

Just a quick message from me to the government:
A private company did this in the OP not the government, but your reply could apply to whomever it was, I suppose. Groupthink and doublespeak are not the domain of the government only.

Also note that we have been doing this to animals for years. Dogs have chips inserted at vet offices in order to keep track of the dogs in case the dogs get lost, etc. Now its our turn it seems.

AFAIC, this business of being chipped is a violation of the 1st Amendment. Unless I am a felon, an illegal, or engaged in some sort of nefarious activity, it is nobody's business where I am at any given time---and within a few years, I am quite certain that if you have one of these things inside your body, the government will be able to locate you quite easily through it, no matter where you are. Unless you're living in a coal mine.

Sure they will. That's one reason alone for refusing one.
