She did beat Bernie.

She would do the same to the other candidates if she ran this time.

She's not even running, and she only beat Bernie with the help of the DNC. There are several candidates in 2020 that are significantly better than Hillary or Bernie.

Again, it only seems to be people on the right who want Hillary to run, or are talking her up as a good candidate.

Where did you read me posting that she's a "good candidate" in my opinion?

Pretend, hypothetically, that for one minute you had an iota of consistency.

“Good” as a relative term for Democrats. You think she is a better candidate than the rest of the current Democratic field if you are telling us she would be able to beat it.

To be honest, a lot of conservatives are worried about all the "pie in the sky" socialist ideas that the candidates are pushing, but I really dont think any of it will actually happen. There is no possible way that they are that dumb to think Medicare for all and free college is going to work. Well, perhaps AOC is. I think they are just giving lip service knowing that their ideas will never pass congress. And when it doesn't pass, they can blame Republicans.
I think that "medicare for all" or some similar single-payer scheme has a reasonably good chance. The only reasons for opposing it are ideological, which might not be enough outside of Trump's base to defeat a well-crafted proposal. Free college is a bit much, but free or steeply reduced cost college with a stiff public service requirement might float, especially at the Community College level.

Not so. I merely said that if she ran, she would most likely win.

I never said that when she and the DNC threw Bernie under the bus that it was a "good" thing.

What interested me mostly, however, is that you seemed, from your posts, more horrified by the thought of Hillary running than i was.

Wow. Where did that fantasy come from?

She had her chances in 2008 and 2016, but having blown both of them and not gotten any younger or more appealing in the time since, she certainly doesn't strike fear into anyone "on the right." And if she cannot beat Trump, I doubt that she can win the Democrat nomination either.

Well there is this saying which might explain it---third time's a charm. Which would be unfortunate in this case. Not for Hillary though, but for the rest of us that absolutely can't stand her.

Therefore Clinton would have to be “good” in the competitive stand point versus the field.

I believe I am more horrified by the thought of Clinton running than you because I believe you want her as the Democratic nominee while I want someone else who is currently running. I believe you want Clinton because that appears to be the best way to secure Trump a win in 2020. I don’t want Clinton because there are current candidates who are better than her.

Lol. The opposite is quite true. Looking at the current DNC field. Hillary is the only person who has a chance. I am feeling sick to my stomach just typing this, but I would vote for Hillary before I ever voted for Biden or Warren. Or just about all the others.
Makes sense. Hillary is furthest to the right of all the declared candidates. And considering she would have been a pretty ineffective president with a Republican majority Congress against her in her first term, the right may have made a big miscalculation in choosing Trump over Hillary in 2016 leaving the Democrats no choice but to field a true leftist for 2020.

They wouldn't. You're the only one saying they would.

You keep misstating @GreatLakes4Ever's posts so consistently, that is seems deliberate. Is this a silly game on your part or are you really, truly so confused by his clearly worded posts?

Nonsense.

It was this particular member who was misstating what i posted.

The bottom line, is that Hillary may run or she may not run.

We shall see.

Has she said as much herself?

Apparently she has hinted at it.

(I will try to find the links if you wish.)

I have not seen an "announcement" from Hillary that she's running. That is why i prefaced my posts with "if".

The bottom line, is that we shall see if she actually does or not.

Am I the only one noticing it’s only people on the right suggesting Clinton will run in 2020? I haven’t seen anyone on the left mention it.

I personally think it is because the right is getting very nervous about Trump’s 2020 chances and Clinton is the only person on the planet they believe he can beat and this is all a fantasy they are trying to wish into being.
Obviously ... people on the right don't think the same way as people on the left.

I don't think anyone on the left wants Clinton to run again. Even Hillary doesn't seem too keen on the idea ...

Yes, it may be that Hillary just enjoys (and benefits financially from) going around presenting herself as the rightful winner in 2016 but has no desire to go through all of that again.

She might want to keep the speculation alive in any case, but if she is seriously considering the idea of throwing her hat into the ring one more time, she will have to arrange for financial backing. At this point in time, many of the big money boys have already made commitments. If she cannot count on them, she's not going to run just to lose out to Warren or someone else and be humiliated.
