. That was actually the most misinformed post I’ve ever read on CF. Where do you get your misinformation from ?
Not from the news media... In 2016, we discovered 18,000 new species.

The five historic mass extinctions supposedly eliminated 70 per cent or more of all species in a relatively short time. That is not going on now. ‘If all currently threatened species were to go extinct in a few centuries and that rate continued,’ began a recent Nature magazine introduction to a survey of wildlife losses, ‘the sixth mass extinction could come in a couple of centuries or a few millennia.’

Wait a minute, I thought we were in danger of immediate Extinction!

If the rate of Extinction we are experiencing now went on for thousands of years we might finally be in a crisis. The key to Wildlife Management is always to look at the whole and see what each species needs. Often, that means culling some to help balance others, something that will throw protectionist crowd into hysterics. I've Trapped and hunted some of the same areas for 40 years. Overall wildlife populations have never been higher. Access each individual ecosystem, determine what management is needed, do your best to create balance... That's just common sense, but today, it is very uncommon.

I’ve examined the same 20 block area in the middle of Queens NYC the past 60 years . I’ve seen species here that only survived the winter in the carolinas so I know that you’re either unobservant or you’re pulling everybody’s legs

Actually we have more new species moving in, and population explosions in others. The only thing we could do with more of is predator control to help out the game birds and rabbits. But no one is going to allow Hawks and owls to be thinned, unfortunately.

Weve got green parrots that live in Queens and Brooklyn . They were escapees from the airport and have survived here for decades . Con Ed hates them because they make enormous nests on the electric poles which occasionally catch fire. I kinda like them but they certainly aren’t native

The white hairless apes that live in Queens and Brooklyn are also an invasive species.

This has nothing to do with global warming.
Yes, it does. Because the bible says that the we are to live by every word of God, does it not? And since we're Christians, if God didn't say through prophets that we would cause extinction due to our environmental understanding, then it isn't happening. Not that we are good stewards of this planet, Jack... but there isn't even a remote hint in the bible that SUV's and cow farts would kill us off. :)

Global warming is not the end of the world. Humanity will not die off. We will survive in drastically altered circumstances and in vastly reduced numbers if we do nothing. We are already in a mass extinction event caused by massive deforestation and industrial pollution and global warming is also a real factor. Where I live I can see it in action in many small ways. The fact that the Bible says nothing about this proves nothing one way or another.

You're right, it isn't the end of the world at all. 2500 years ago, according to a 1998 paper I posted somewhere in this thread, a RAPID warming melted glaciers in Africa and everyone survived. Then, it cooled off over many hundreds of years, and then warmed again. And then, a miniature ice age from 1450 until roughly 1850 and it has been warming up since then. In the early 1970's scientists proposed covering the ice caps in soot in order to trap heat in and avert the coming ice age. We instead warmed more quickly on our own and more than just a few scientists are calling for a cooling off period. All of this, is natural, the climate changes, that's what it does. It is never static when looked at through a historical eye.

Peace to you.
Ken

There certainly are natural warming and cooling cycles that interact with each other in complex ways. All of this was discovered by the same climate scientists that are now warning us that these very cycles now have another human driving factor riding on top of them. The present rate of global warming is unprecedented in history for the simple reason that the human factor has interfered in dramatic way with the balance of nature. It is "the straw that broke the camel's back".

Agreed until here. Jack, they can't tell us with 100% certainty what the EXACT temperature will be tomorrow. Meaning, they might say 81, and it ends up being 84. We can say, "So what, same rough temperature" but 3 degrees in 24 hours... and we are expected to believe what you just said above? We didn't have the ability to measure like we do now beyond even 50 years ago (on a global scale). And yet they test core samples and we are REALLY expected to believe that they know within the range you are suggesting? No... and more than that... this whole trend is man's fault? No.... this is a power grab... it is just the latest vehicle being driven to control the masses. Just remember Jack... in the 70’s they said we were supposed to die of a new ice age. Then acid rain. Then the ozone layer. Then SARS, then bird flu, then swine flu, then Zika virus. Now this. And oddly, we’ve survived it all.

I wonder why Obama would buy a $15 million oceanfront mansion if it’ll only be submerged in 10 yrs? Well, he can answer that one, and you have a great night.

Climate change ? I though GOD
was in control of the weather.

-for blessings

14That I will give you the rain of your land in his due season, the first rain and the latter rain, that thou mayest gather in thy corn, and thy wine, and thine oil.

-for punishment

7And also I have withholden the rain from you, when there wereyet three months to the harvest: and I caused it to rain upon onecity, and caused it not to rain upon another city: one piece was rained upon, and the piece whereupon it rained not withered.

-for the day of battle and war

22Hast thou entered into the treasures of the snow? or hast thou seen the treasures of the hail, 23Which I have reserved against the time of trouble, against the day of battle and war?

3The LORD is slow to anger, and great in power, and will not at all acquit the wicked: the LORD hath his way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet.

But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived

The devil is now confined to the earth,
and stirring up wrath. Revelation 12:12

The Prophet Habakkuk wrote about nuclear winter.
a “bitter and hasty nation” attacking Israel.

Habakkuk’s belly trembled (Habakkuk 3:16)
He was having a difficult time fulfilling his
prophetic office. He saw nuclear war and the
consequences very vividly! (verse 17)
discussing after a massive nuclear attack.

The fields yield no crops. Total failure. Why?
Nuclear fallout and nuclear winter is the only
explanation. Bombs are dropped on the cities,
but the farms are also affected.

There are no sheep in the pens or cattle in the stalls, just as bad as Christ said it would be.
Matthew 24:21; also Jeremiah 30:7; Daniel 12:1.

(Amos 5:1-3) Here 90 percent of the people in a city die immediately .Then only 10 percent of the survivors remain alive. Only 10 out of 1,000 are left. A 99 percent destruction of the population of major cities.

(Amos 5:11) The word breaches could be “drops of dew” referring to nuclear fallout. The word clefts means fissures “a break or lesion in the tissue.."The root word means “to tear in pieces.”“Drops of dew,” or nuclear fallout, certainly will “tear in pieces” human flesh.

Wars and rumors of war,
nations shall rise against nations.

"Woe, woe, woe, to the inhabiters of the earth"
Each woe is a war between nations. Rev. 8:13
-

"And at the time of the end shall [the king of the south] push at him: and [the king of the north] shall come against him like a whirlwind, with chariots, and with horsemen, and with many ships; and he shall enter into the countries, and shall overflow and pass over." Daniel 11:40 (KJV)
-

Revelation 9:16, one war has "the army of the
horsemen were two hundred thousand thousand:

Revelation 16:12 (KJV)
And the sixth angel poured out his vial upon the great river Euphrates; and the water thereof was dried up, that the way of [the kings of the east] might be prepared.

12 And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast. These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast.

14 These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful. And he saith unto me, The waters which thou sawest, where the harlot sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues.

17For in one hour so great riches is come to nought. And every shipmaster, and all the company in ships, and sailors, and as many as trade by sea, stood afar off, 18And cried when they saw the smoke of her burning, saying, What city is like unto this great city!

Revelation 16:16 (KJV) And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon.
-

Jesus Christ will have to return before
[man destroys themselves with nuclear warfare].

37 But as the days of Noah were, so shall also
the coming of the Son of man be.

38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark,

And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

I thought we grew up and stopped blaming God for natural disasters centuries ago.
