That long? He said he could fix crime in Chicago immediately.

Who knows how fast he could have done it, but the Billions from Obama’s gift to Iran has to be taken into account.

I disagree with his excellency President Trump on Iran, the Mullah regime will collapse with the economic pressure, and internal protests over time, they are already having big trouble funding Hezbollah and Hamas. A war isn't needed, I'm afraid President Trump is falling into a trap by his advisers like Pompeo, and John Bolton, and possibly VP Mike Pence. If the Israel, and the Sunni Arab states like Jordan, the UAE, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Mauritania, etc are afraid of Iran then they should form a coalition to fight Iran. America should concentrate on its southern border, and containing Red China.

It still the Democrats fault if Jimmy Carter and Brezeznski didnt throw the Shah under the bus in favor of Ayatollah Khomeini, similar to how Obama threw Egypt's Mubarak, Tuinsia's Ben Ali , and Libya Khadify under the bus for Qatari and Turkish backed anti-Christian , pro-jihadi Muslim Brotherhood during the Arab spring mess.

But if you insist on an idea (those do seem to be in short supply) I'd say that since Iran was abusing by the Nuclear Deal, and since withdrawing it and replacing it with... nothing... was a stupid idea, I'd say reinstating it would be a good move... The stock is an empty threat; the carrot was actually working.

The catch, of course, is that since Donald's word is worthless, it'll have to be his successor who does it.
Why would the word of his successor carry any weight? Even if that successor is the most honorable and trustworthy person in the world, you never know who the USA votes in behind him.

Any agreement with the USA is only good for the term of the current president. After that, all bets are off, now that the USA has shown itself to be willing to pull out of agreements "just because".

Now, every agreement should automatically end after the current term of the president with a stipulation to re-negotiate it.

Ok....so now that you are clearly mistaken, you're going to pretend that the intelligence community are "Donald's people" and the threats from Iran are "alleged".....

He certainly orders them around as if they were.

Trump directs intelligence community to cooperate with Barr on declassifying 2016 election - CNNPolitics

President Donald Trump has ordered all major US intelligence agencies to assist Attorney General William Barr in his review of surveillance issues surrounding Trump's 2016 presidential campaign, delegating significant authority to Barr to declassify sensitive intelligence materials as the attorney general sees fit.

The formal memorandum released by the White House late Thursday evening directs the heads of each agency to "promptly provide" information as Barr requests.

I hope Barr's loyalty to Donald isn't up for debate...

Blame the Ayatollahs for a change, they are the ones that continue to foment hostilities worldwide.
World peace isn't free...neither is a nation's freedom. It's cost is usually in battlefield blood and is more reason to thank a soldier.
Well here’s to the universal soldier that does lay down his life to protect his country amidst the battlefield of blood. To all those who have loved and lost loved ones to the god of war.

You act like the cold war wasn't a thing and that other nations didn't participate in it.

This is true, but there's always a chance that future world leaders would take the successor's word as worth... something.

And something is better than the nothing we currently have.

Indeed, as I said before, the damage Donald has done can never be fully repaired.

The god of war alright...satan...

John 10:10 (KJV) The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

The Fall is a harsh reality.

We are not less free with the Ayatollahs in power and will not be more free with them gone.
That is very true...
Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?
(Rom 6:16)
Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. They answered him, We be Abraham's seed, and were never in bondage to any man: how sayest thou, Ye shall be made free? Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin.

Iran is the number one state sponsor of terrorist
in the world. They should be treated as such.
Maybe they could dial it back a bit to become number two, which the US government is shmoozing heavily.

Edit: Oops, my bad. Saudi Arbia is number 1 after all.

I am more for sending other people’s kids off to die in a war with Iran while I post encouraging words of support for their sacrifice from the safety of my home computer. Oh yes, and a support the troops sticker on my car. God Bless America and President Trump!

What 2 senators took away from intelligence briefing on Iran

"Today's briefing comes at the end of a dramatic few weeks. On May the 5th, after the administration said it received intelligence of a — quote — "imminent attack" on U.S. forces and allies, National Security Adviser John Bolton released a statement promising any Iranian attack would be met with — quote — "unrelenting force."

Now....as of yet, no attack from Iran. Were they just posturing? Was it bad intelligence?

Or did Iran call it off because we told them we see what they're doing and we'll make them pay dearly for it?

Time will tell.

Inasmuch as Iran is in a long-standing war with Saudi Arabia, and inasmuch as Saudi Arabia is considered (foolishly) an ally of the US, then of course there will be occasional intelligence report of an imminent attack on a US ally...the Saudis.

What happens when there is strong political arm-twisting of intelligence is that reports that would otherwise never float to the top get there anyway.

I remember when Rumsfelt stated, "I have one report of unverified reliability" about WMD.

My thought as an intelligence analyst was, "Why the #&*@% does the SECDEF have 'one report of unverified reliability?'" If I as an analyst had only "I have one report of unverified reliability," it would never leave my desk, much less get to the SECDEF. I'd want multiple reports of high reliability before I'd send an analysis to my division chief, much less the SECDEF.

The intelligence community has reports on everything. We pay informants for intelligence, and there are always informants who will tell us what they think we will pay for.

You want a report on alien abductions in Poughkeepsie, you can get a report on alien abductions in Poughkeepsie.

Political twisting of intelligence comes when such reports are floated as verified, community-consensus information suitable for critical decision-making.

Iran Admits To help Facilitating 9/11 Terror Attacks.
Iran is allied with Russia, China, and North Korea.
It is Russia and China that backs Iran and N.Korea,
against America, that keeps them going.
Iran and North Korea share Nuclear Cooperation.
Iran Is Funding Hamas’s March of Return.
Iran pays Palestinian ‘Martyrs’, cost at least $1 million,
This is not charity, this is investing in the next intifada!
Iran Won’t Stop Till It Reaches Jerusalem.
Iran brags now it Controls Four Middle Eastern Capitals.

Iran continues to openly and boldly fund the destabilization of the region on its quest to regional supremacy.
Iran and Hezbollah’s threats to conquer Israel are not merely rhetorical, who they call little satan, and America big satan.

Iranian support for extremist and terrorist groups—including Hezbollah, Hamas, Yemen’s Houthis and, above all, Iran’s key agency in destablising its neighbors, the Al-Quds Division of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard.

Iran Threatens to Block the Strait of Hormuz.
It funds the rebel Houthi extremists in Yemen, which in turn endangers the Gulf of Aden—the southern gateway to the Red Sea. Closing this waterway would make the Suez Canal useless, dramatically the implications on oil markets, global trade, European security and world conflicts.

Why does Saudi Arabia deserve number 1 spot?
