My position in another thread is not the topic of the thread

Perhaps not, but pointing out your inconsistent standards for judging the credibility of a source is a perfectly legitimate response to your attack on that source’s credibility.

If you don’t like folks pointing out your inconsistencies, maybe don’t be so inconsistent.

First rule in public relations is when asked a question, people will translate a “no comment” as “yes.”
Were you in the Navy?
(I'm breaking my own rule about not addressing IDs, profile pics, etc., it's a sincere and friendly inquiry.)

No. I did visit the Naval Academy as part of a high school field trip though. I took a public relations class in college that taught that rule the first day.

Hillary had a jet when she took her daughter to Bosnia and landed under sniper fire and she was not even an elected official. Where oh where was the Democrat outrage at that?

Lock her up for child endangerment!

Thread isn’t about me. No matter how much you try to deflect it.

I notice there is no other response to what I posted except complaints about me.

Must be in the right track.

I'm not trying to make it about you. I'm trying to understand the rationale for the criticism you levied.

Perhaps you can just clear up the confusion once and for all: When is the NYT's use of unnamed sources "familiar" with a subject credible and when does it constitute "unverifiable gossip from a national gossip rag"? What factors lead to those assessments?

I don’t think any entity get it wrong all the time. But the NYT sure comes close.

When they take the time to publish articles about people not even in final consideration for a position, just to satisfy their base and give them something to tsk tsk about, that is gossip

Plain and simple.
