You know what's disrespectful..? Insulting the Commander in Chief of the United States of America, who was elected by the people.

Funny how that applies only to this current POTUS and not to the 44 before.

The people who elected him can show all the respect they wish.

I just named two who are still alive. Neither Carter (1976) nor Clinton (1994)
won the majority of the popular vote, and a case can be made that JFK did not either.

It's kind of amazing how wrong one post can be.

1.) Nobody said anything about an absolute majority. That was you inserting something into the conversation to make an illegitimate point. In none of the examples you cited did the Democratic candidate have a lower popular vote count than his opponent (which was the standard being used in this conversation).

2.) Carter in 1976 did have an absolute majority, with 50.8%:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_presidential_election,_1976#Statistics

3.) Clinton was elected in 1992 and 1996, not 1994.

In 1976 Carter 40,831,881 against Ford 39,148,634

And there was NO presidential election in 1994.

I'm from AZ and IMO, John boy only cared about his agenda not the voters of AZ. He should of resigned when he knew he was terminal. Him and Flake are closet Democrats that got offended by Trump so they acted like big babies instead of supporting the Republican President and his leadership and agenda.

It's pretty well the secret society crap. Trump is a true outsider, and the deep state, one world order cronies don't like him tearing down their playhouse.

Hopefully Duecy will appoint someone other than another Mccain. Oh boy! :sigh:

Looking at AZ's per capita GDP, educational rankings (both near the bottom), and the fact that a segment of AZ voters kept Joe Arpaio in office for 24 years, one could argue that McCain knew what was good for them better than they did.

Is that how we're defining RINO these days? Someone who refuses to fawn over a philandering NYC billionaire non-conservative who wasn't even a Republican until a few years ago?

lololol

I was never a huge McCain fan, but in today's Republican lineup, you could certainly do a lot worse.

You mean like Kelli Ward?

It's a shame what has happened to the Republican Party in Arizona. The state that once had a tradition of sending Senators who held Presidents accountable --- Barry Goldwater, Dennis Deconcini, Jon Kyle, John McCain and Jeff Flake -- has now been betrayed by Trump loyalists posing as conservatives.

I expect a reckoning come November...

He lost the election of the people. He was elected by the electoral college.
The same way all his predecessors were elected.

We've never elected presidents based upon anything other than the electoral college.

A Senator should support the President of their party. After all, we elected them to represent us. Not to represent themselves. That's how a Republic works. It's not a rule of the angry left on the liberal TV outlets that riles the country. But that is what we are coming to and I'm locked and loaded. :D Bring it on!

Facing a national outpouring of scorn, the White House relented Monday afternoon and once again lowered flags on the grounds to half staff in honor of the late Sen. John McCain.

The flags had been raised to full staff earlier Monday, after being lowered for only a few days to mark the death of McCain.

But politicians from both sides of the aisle as well as national leaders of veterans’ groups, slammed President Trump in protest, calling the commander-in-chief vindictive and petty.

My guess is that since we now have a bunch of amateurs running the White House that they didn't realize how long it should stay at half staff and raised it.

There ya go. Getting all touchy and feely like all libs. Oh boy.

Personal slight aside, why should a senator stand behind the president if they feel they are doing wrong?
