Yea being the partner was very very very Hard!
I think I became mentally scared from it, but am much better now. I hold no hate towards him. I forgave him and hope he gets well.
Like you say, must have been very very hard; him preferring it to you, and you subsequently became convicted not to continue before you were married; so very very hard for you before, and after; and all very very complicated, I'm sure.

God's grace does indeed enable His people to move on.

Yes that was devastating. I am glad I am in a better place now.

over the last few weeks I have been getting readings from psychics mainly about what my path to marriage will be like. I know as Christians we aren't supposed to use psychics or have anything to do with the occult, but...
Hi; what you might hear from those sources will likely be neither helpful nor even true, in any case.

If you read various responses with Scripture quotations on this thread, I hope that they will indeed be helpful. :)

I think God can keep forgiving you for ever. As long as your heart wants to move away from sin and towards God, you are saved by Jesus on the cross. I sin every day too, and wish that I didn't, but I ask His forgiveness and I am sure he grants it. Probably many people in your church also struggle with inappropriate content addiction (it is unfortunately all too common) so you are not alone. Have you considered Christian counselling?

To be honest, I would be more worried about you visiting a psychic than the inappropriate content habit.
Thank you! Yeah I don't usually go to psychics but I started to a few weeks ago, but stopped when I was about to pay for another reading and I was like what am I doing? I shouldn't be doing this. It can be addicting.

What should you do?

1-Study scripture and seek to learn all you can about it [ 2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Timothy 2:15; 1 Peter 3:15; Romans 12:2; Ephesians 6:11-17; Hebrews 11:6]

2-Follow what scripture teaches (one reason you need to study and learn) [James 1:22; James 2:14-26; Ephesians 2:10; John 13:17; Hosea 4:6; Romans 12:1-2; 2 Thessalonians 1:8-9; Hebrews 6:4-6; John 14:15; John 15:14]

Remain faithful unto death or until Christ comes, whichever is first Revelation 2:10; 1 Corinthians 9:24-27; Hebrews 12:1; Philippians 3:13-14

For those who willfully sin (Hebrews 6:4-6; Hebrews 10:25-27), you could lose salvation. You can, if one repents/ turns away from that sin, be place back into His kingdom/gain salvation.

This could be an example of ones who fell but can be returned to a saved state:

Galatians 5, see also Galatians 6:1

1 John 1:9

Matthew 18:15

Because you can be returned to a saved state, this doesnt give permission to just go around sinning whenever, hence Hebrews 6:4-6; Hebrews 10:26-27; 2 Thessalonians 1:7-8.

1 Peter 3:12; Psalms 34:15-16 :
These two verses are a reason that those who willfully sin need to be restored by fellow brethren Galatians 6:1; James 5:16

We sin all the time Romans 3:23, but He is faithful to forgive us should we ask it 1 John 1:9. If we willfully sin, we are going to need some help and serious "Godly sorrow" and some brethren to help us get back into the fold.
Thank you so much for these scriptures and the advice.

Praying for you! Yes you are right little known fact women do struggle with inappropriate content.

The fact you are struggling, here asking questions and not happy in this tells me God is convicting you and working with you so DO not over worry. Cling to Jesus and pray for His guidance. Change may take years, but do not give up on God no matter what anyone says. NO human is without sin or will be perfect in this life, but you will overcome in the Spirit.

How long have you struggled with inappropriate content?

I would advise staying far away from mediums and the like.
Thank you for the prayer and I've been struggling with it for probably 15 years.

Thank you everyone for replying to my post. I think I might see a Christian counselor too.

John's First Epistle - short, with only 5 chapters but so searing and wise - can be a great help, prayerfully read; all about walking in the light, cleansing, assurance and faith in the Son of God.

So I have been struggling with habitual sin (inappropriate content, yes women struggle with that too) for years and I can't seem to break away from it completely so that I will never do it again and over the last few weeks I have been getting readings from psychics mainly about what my path to marriage will be like. I know as Christians we aren't supposed to use psychics or have anything to do with the occult, but I was really curious about my future husband and whether or not I will get married since I'm 33 and still single. I just want to get right with God, but I don't feel like I will ever be able to do that. I don't want to go to Hell. What should I do? I have God asked to forgive me, but he cant keep on forgiving me forever and I'am saved, but I don't know what else to do.
I struggle with inappropriate content too. Today I installed an anti-inappropriate content browser on my tablet and then uninstalled the Google chrome browser. After that I installed an app to block my access to the google play store, so that I can't get a normal browser. I entered a code in that blocking app so I can't access it to and gave it to a person to keep it for me, in case I need to get into the play store. This way I'm stuck with an anti-inappropriate content browser in the tablet. I had already blocked inappropriate content on my computer. Now, as of today I'll see what happens. This is the only way I could come up with to stop viewing open. Hope it helps.

Honestly I agree with other people about you visiting the medium for being a great concern. Do you realize that could've gotten you into a situation with a demon? Be very careful about messing around with mediums and demons. A lot of mediums are fake however there are some real ones. Remember the story about Saul and how he visited a medium? He had a spirit that bothered him on occasions and I am convinced that it was because he visited a medium earlier. He would have King David come and play his harp in order to help him deal with it. You do NOT want problems with a demon. They are much harder to deal with than a inappropriate content addiction.

Now inappropriate content is something I am still struggling with even to this day and I think if you give God a serious prayer about it and really really desire to eliminate it form your life, you will do it.

I didn't know that! I don't want anything to do with any demon. I don't remember that story about Saul. Thanks, I'm never going to use a medium/psychic ever again.

I didn't know that! I don't want anything to do with any demon. I don't remember that story about Saul. Thanks, I'm never going to use a medium/psychic ever again.

4 The Philistines set up their camp at Shunem, and Saul gathered all the army of Israel and camped at Gilboa. 5 When Saul saw the vast Philistine army, he became frantic with fear. 6 He asked the Lord what he should do, but the Lord refused to answer him, either by dreams or by sacred lotsa]">[a] or by the prophets. 7 Saul then said to his advisers, “Find a woman who is a medium, so I can go and ask her what to do.”

His advisers replied, “There is a medium at Endor.”

8 So Saul disguised himself by wearing ordinary clothing instead of his royal robes. Then he went to the woman’s home at night, accompanied by two of his men.

“I have to talk to a man who has died,” he said. “Will you call up his spirit for me?”

9 “Are you trying to get me killed?” the woman demanded. “You know that Saul has outlawed all the mediums and all who consult the spirits of the dead. Why are you setting a trap for me?”

10 But Saul took an oath in the name of the Lord and promised, “As surely as the Lord lives, nothing bad will happen to you for doing this.”

11 Finally, the woman said, “Well, whose spirit do you want me to call up?”

“Call up Samuel,” Saul replied.

12 When the woman saw Samuel, she screamed, “You’ve deceived me! You are Saul!”

13 “Don’t be afraid!” the king told her. “What do you see?”

“I see a godb]">[b] coming up out of the earth,” she said.

14 “What does he look like?” Saul asked.

“He is an old man wrapped in a robe,” she replied. Saul realized it was Samuel, and he fell to the ground before him.

15 “Why have you disturbed me by calling me back?” Samuel asked Saul.

“Because I am in deep trouble,” Saul replied. “The Philistines are at war with me, and God has left me and won’t reply by prophets or dreams. So I have called for you to tell me what to do.”

16 But Samuel replied, “Why ask me, since the Lord has left you and has become your enemy? 17 The Lord has done just as he said he would. He has torn the kingdom from you and given it to your rival, David. 18 The Lord has done this to you today because you refused to carry out his fierce anger against the Amalekites. 19 What’s more, the Lord will hand you and the army of Israel over to the Philistines tomorrow, and you and your sons will be here with me. The Lord will bring down the entire army of Israel in defeat.”

20 Saul fell full length on the ground, paralyzed with fright because of Samuel’s words. He was also faint with hunger, for he had eaten nothing all day and all night.

21 When the woman saw how distraught he was, she said, “Sir, I obeyed your command at the risk of my life. 22 Now do what I say, and let me give you a little something to eat so you can regain your strength for the trip back.”

23 But Saul refused to eat anything. Then his advisers joined the woman in urging him to eat, so he finally yielded and got up from the ground and sat on the couch.

24 The woman had been fattening a calf, so she hurried out and killed it. She took some flour, kneaded it into dough and baked unleavened bread. 25 She brought the meal to Saul and his advisers, and they ate it. Then they went out into the night.

Story is above. 1 Samuel chapter 28. However I just realized that it was not correlated with the bad spirit that harassed Saul since that happened earlier: "“The Spirit of the LORD had departed from Saul, and an evil spirit from the LORD tormented him.” 1 Samuel 16:14

However it wouldn't surprise me that Saul had been messing around with mediums for a while since it was his first response in the story above.

So I have been struggling with habitual sin (inappropriate content, yes women struggle with that too) for years and I can't seem to break away from it completely so that I will never do it again and over the last few weeks I have been getting readings from psychics mainly about what my path to marriage will be like.

You didn't have to do that, you already know it be a struggle and that in this
world we will have troubles... that's in the Bible.. John 16:33.
Put your hope and trust in Jesus and Follow Him...the scriptures reveal how to
live this life, do it one day at a time.
You choose this day whom you will serve, you serve the Lord not your flesh.
Follow Jesus, uphold God's Word and make no provision for your flesh... if that means getting rid of internet, Cable TV or satellite services, separating from certain friends, family or whomever... do it!
If you do not have the upper hand/and or control over that stuff, get rid of it.
Get you a cell phone that all you can do with it is make calls, no access to internet.
Stop going to see soft inappropriate content movies at the movie theaters... there's god honoring
events that you can choose to attend.

Me and my husband got rid of Cable TV because it was becoming a problem, sexual situations and promiscuity be on way too many shows and no matter how nice the show started out, it didn't take long before the woman or man was looking around for someone else.
Little things began popping up in our lives and we knew it shouldn't be
like that and we made the decision to get rid of Cable TV...it wasn't easy but now
it's like ten years later and we much better off without it.

We search out christian movies/shows, family friendly movies, books, music, we do some christian workshops and events, there plenty of people who be shut-ins
that we help/ visit, volunteer to go and sing at nursing homes, take someone to an
appointment if they don't have a car and or no longer able to drive, help mentor someone and or disciple them etc.

When I was seeking a spouse...not only did I use the resources available to me
in my own area, I also signed up on a marriage website that's aimed at christians.
Mind you, this didn't come quickly as several years would pass by before meeting
someone.
Success came by way of the online website and we have been married for nearly sixteen years.
Both of us put up real information about ourselves, we communicated online/offline for a month, then we met one another's family and friends,
attended one another's church and we married like three months
later. During the whole courtship we discussed our own personal issues/struggles, both of us were divorced from cheating spouses, we talked about finances (mine was awful), credit rating, jobs, did marriage counseling,
went to church together and prayed lots.

You know what to do, make real repentance....it isn't just saying you sorry and shedding tears, it's you putting away the thing(s) that you use to access inappropriate content...breaking ties with friends and others who be OK with inappropriate content...fornication, promiscuity, no more messing around with the occult/witchcraft etc.

Here's a site for those who have inappropriate content addiction:

So sorry to hear that you are struggling with this. As a guy, those things are tempting, especially now when there is so much of it online. God forgives us. Don't give into resignation. The less we given in to lust, the easier becomes to resist it. No doubt there is a Christian man for you. There is no age limit for marriage. God bless.

So I have been struggling with habitual sin (inappropriate content, yes women struggle with that too) for years and I can't seem to break away from it completely so that I will never do it again and over the last few weeks I have been getting readings from psychics mainly about what my path to marriage will be like.

Ever heard the saying, "Like begets like"? A cat begets a cat, a dog begets a dog, and so on. Well, what's true for dogs and cats in this regard is also true of you. You will only beget more of you. And so you have. If you want to be a godly person, to be a holy, Christ-centered person, you've got to go. You see, God's way of making you more like Jesus isn't to improve you but to put you to death and to give you a new life in Christ.

Yeah, I know: Confusing. But if you want to be free of your inappropriate content habit and be a woman properly equipped for marriage, you need to get a handle on what I'm going to explain to you. So, there is within you what Paul calls the "old man" (or "old woman," I guess, in your case) (Romans 6:6). It's that part of you that is self-centered, that desires to be independent of God, that is focused on the impulses of your body and on living only for the here-and-now. That person, that "old woman," can't be made better (Jeremiah 17:9; Romans 7:18; Romans 8:7). It is so nasty, so wicked, so selfish that the only solution for dealing with her is to get rid of her. And so, God did. He nailed your "old woman" to the cross of Calvary when Jesus died there 2000 years ago (Galatians 2:20; Romans 6:6). In doing this, God has separated you from your "old woman," from her power to cause you to sin, and made you a new creature in Christ. "Old things," Paul says, "are passed away and, behold, all things are made new." (2 Corinthians 5:17)

What's this got to do with anything? Well, it's got a lot to do with being a Christian. In fact, if you don't understand what I've just explained, there is no way to live properly as a disciple of Jesus. What I've just described to you is the solution to all the sin issues you've got. Paul the apostle explains:

Romans 6:7-12
7 For he who has died has been freed from sin.
8 Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him,
9 knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, dies no more. Death no longer has dominion over Him.
10 For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God.
11 Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
12 Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts
.

The blood of Jesus cleanses us from the stain of our sin but it his cross that frees us from the source and power of sin: Self. As a Christian knows, believes and counts on their being "dead to sin and alive unto God through Jesus," it is then - and only then - that the reality of their death to sin begins to be experienced. Lots of Christians run about trying to stamp out this and that sin, but God's answer to the sin-problem isn't to stamp out sins but to die, to be separated from, the source of all sin: Self (aka. the "old man"). And so it turns out that Paul was right: We live righteous lives by faith in what God has done for us, not by the strength of our own effort (Romans 1:17: Galatians 3:11).

I realize you weren't expecting the sort of answer I've given you. It will be tempting to dismiss it as impractical, spiritual gobbledy-gook. I would urge you not to think this way. If you do, you will be forever mired in sin, neglecting the means God has made for all of His children to be free of sin's power.

I know as Christians we aren't supposed to use psychics or have anything to do with the occult, but I was really curious about my future husband and whether or not I will get married since I'm 33 and still single. I just want to get right with God, but I don't feel like I will ever be able to do that.

Consulting a psychic is to open a door to the demonic realm. You seem to know this and yet have gone ahead and opened the door. Do not be surprised when what comes through darkens and destroys your life. I would urge you to confess your sin in consulting a psychic and ask God to take back the ground in your life you've given to the devil. I would also strongly suggest you have other believers pray earnestly for you.

I don't want to go to Hell. What should I do? I have God asked to forgive me, but he cant keep on forgiving me forever and I'am saved, but I don't know what else to do.

You have a love problem. You love yourself more than you love God. Welcome to the club. The answer is to ask God to give you His love, to fill you with a love for Him that exceeds all other loves in your life. And keep asking 'til He does. Love for God, you see, is the foundation for living in fellowship with God (Matthew 22:36-38). Everything we do and are as Christians flows out of this love for our Maker.
