I believe Christianity is not a religion.
I believe Christianity is a faith, an active demonstrating of having put our faith in Jesus for salvation.
Religions are man-made, such as Catholic, Baptist, Presbyterian, Armenian etc.

The Holy Spirit drew me in. My testimony is here some place :) That was 51 years ago March 20th 9 pm.
I am a believer, a follower of Christ Jesus.

Id be interested in reading that testimony. If you find it could you link to it please? Thanks.

Okay, so I'm making an article for my website about why Christianity is the right religion out of all of the religions out there and I'm having a little bit of difficulty with it. I was wondering how my brothers and sisters came to Christ and why they chose Christ and how they know for sure that Christ is the right religion. Does the Holy Spirit tell you that Christ is the right religion? Were you lead to Christ like I was? Or was Christ just the logical decision to you? Any information will be helpful for the article.

Christianity is the right religion to me because I was lead into Christianity by God. I never once considered other religions. Before I came to Christ I was an Atheist. When I started to slowly believe in God in my late 20's it was Christianity that God lead me to. I also now believe that the Trinity makes the most sense as to how God has identified himself in the Bible. I also believe in the miracles that Christ did up unto his own resurrection from the dead. I believe that they were miracles that only God could do or someone who was given divine power by God. But, I believe that only God could raise himself from the dead. I believe Christ proved during his journey as a man time and time again that he was not only the Messiah, the Son of God, but also God himself as foretold in the scriptures.

I also believe that Christianity is the right religion because the Bible as a whole says it is in both the OT and the NT. I believe Jesus to be the God of the Old Testament. I also believe that the Bible is inerrant and literal and I don't believe it to be corrupted. I know for multiple reasons that deep down in myself I have the Holy Spirit living inside of me and the Holy Spirit has caused me to not only believe in Christ But is constantly reassuring me that Christ is the right way. What about you?

While I was an early Christian, I went to AA they have a belief in God, can be anything you want, but most people believe in the God of the bible, and I had already read the bible many times before going to AA.
So because I believed in the God of the bible, I prayed for some miracles and got them so I know God and Jesus are real, and know all other religions are false, even some religions that acknowledge Jesus are false like Mormons.

Okay, so I'm making an article for my website about why Christianity is the right religion out of all of the religions out there and I'm having a little bit of difficulty with it.

It is the only world religion (other the Judaism) that points out that this world - this life of sin and sorrow - 'is abnormal" and that God will one day "fix it"

It is the only religion that points out that God first made everything non-violent , sinless, no death and disease and perfect paradise. That God is unhappy with the conditions of life as they are on earth and is working to end it.

It is the only religion where God Himself dies for the transgression and evil of mankind so that mankind can have eternal life.

It is the only religion where the devil is not equal to or almost-equal to God - rather God is infinitely more intelligent and more powerful than the devil in the christian religion and loves mankind to the point of dying for the sins of all mankind.

The Christian religion has the best start, the best middle, the best ending.

Christianity has "God with us" not only in the incarnation but in the "indwelling Holy Spirit" and communication with God - two-way on a daily basis - something Hindus think is unheard of.

I'm on my phone right now so I can't copy/paste but John 6:37-40 basically says "all who the Father gives me will come to me and those who come to me I will never drive away. My fathers will is that I shall lose none of all that the Father gives me but raise them all up at the last day" how could Jesus make a statement like that and then say that people can be lost in Mark 4? It makes no sense.

Prior to the lukewarm church era salvation was taught as a 2 part process. See if this makes sense.
  1. Conversion – when we repent of our sin, accept Jesus as our Savior, and the Holy Spirit dwells in our heart. The Bible states that at this point a person is saved. No amount of good works or keeping the Old Testament Law, can convert a person. It is only available by grace through faith in Jesus alone. At this stage Once Saved Always Saved is not true it is not applicable at this time!
  2. Our full Salvation and redemption – We receive our full Salvation on Judgment Day when the sheep are separated from the goats, and Jesus says that we may enter into Heaven. We are saved from eternal punishment in Hell for our sins. At this time Once Saved Always Saved is true!
When you apply OSAS at the right time all verses supporting OSAS and verses that state a person can lose their salvation come and work together.

Here is a simple example.

Matthew 24:13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. This verse is stating you can lose your salvation by not enduring.

Joh 10:28 I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one can snatch them away from Me,This verse states you can’t lose your salvation because Jesus gave them eternal life.

Please note: both of those verses are in red meaning Jesus said those words. As you will see, He is not contradicting Himself.

What if he doesn’t endure?

Follow the logic of this verse.

Who is He talking to? A Christian right, why would a non-Christian have any interest in enduring the commands of God.

So, a Christian that does not endure, in his Christian life, to the end will not be saved thereby will not receive eternal salvation. Remember, he became a Christian when he received salvation because he accepted Christ Jesus. He is not yet covered by Once Saved Always Saved. A Christian can go to hell by not enduring to the end of his life according to this verse.

However, he endures and Jesus welcomes him into His kingdom on Judgement Day and then Once Saved Always Saved takes place because John 10:28 guarantees the Christian’s eternal salvation.

Notice too, both verses have action words that are future, “shall” and “endure”.

WOW! The verses come together and both are true; that is called harmony. Moreover, since they are both true their is no longer a contradiction.

Cause it is the only one with the "truth about love", found in and with Christ...

God Bless!

Okay, so I'm making an article for my website about why Christianity is the right religion out of all of the religions out there and I'm having a little bit of difficulty with it.

You are starting off on the wrong foot. Christianity is not a religion. Religion says "do this" or "do that" to make oneself righteous before God. Christianity says you are dead in your sins and trespasses against the one true and living God. There is nothing you can do to make yourself righteous before God, since a dead man can do nothing.

Christianity is right because it is based in the truth of God and His righteousness and how He never fails at His promises. Jesus also said in John 14:6 that He is the way, the truth and the life, no one comes to the Father except through Him. No other worldview can make this claim and back it up.

I was wondering how my brothers and sisters came to Christ and why they chose Christ and how they know for sure that Christ is the right religion.

I did not come to Christ Jesus. I was a rebel sinner dead in my sins. He came to me through the most wonderful act of grace and removed my heart of stone and gave me a heart of flesh.

Additionally, I did not choose Christ. Christ never needed my acceptance. He chose me solely because of His grace.

And the last part was answered in the previous segment. Christianity is not a religion.

Does the Holy Spirit tell you that Christ is the right religion?

Error carried forward about religion, but yes, the Holy Spirit brings conviction and revelation of the truth of Christ to the believer.

Were you lead to Christ like I was?

I don't know how you were lead to Christ, so I can't answer that question. The specific way the Holy Spirit works is slightly different for each believer, but comes down to the Spirit leading the believer to repentance of sin and faith in Jesus Christ at the fundamental level.

Or was Christ just the logical decision to you?

Logical may have played a role, but that is not why God saved me because I had superior logic. I was saved solely by the grace of God.

I am sorry if I am nit-picky about terminology, but I think words matter.

So you just automatically believed? When did you give your life to Christ?

Never had the evangelical experience. Much like CS Lewis one minute I did not believe and then one minute I did.

Theres this man " Ravi Zacharias" (like dislike agree not agree)
talks about this very kind of question. Has a tad lol more knowledge about this then I. Again like the man or not.. the FACTS he talks about Christianity are true.
There is no doubt that Ravi is a caring Christian who does not make any excuses for his brand of apologetics, and can hold his own with the best from any religion in the world as far as I have seen.

I once believed that all of the religions spoke of the same God and that God had allowed this to be because he wanted everybody to have a chance at redemption. One day in 1977 at CG PSSTA Houston a young man caught a comment I said to that understanding. He went and retrieved his Bible and confronted me. He followed me all over the base as I was finishing up the day and wanted to go home. After a while of him following me and reading from scripture I went from espousing my beliefs to asking him questions. He even followed me to my car where we sat in the parking lot talking for over an hour. He answered every question I had and more and I want to emphasize this, he never said, "I believe that..." Everything he responded with was read from scripture. There were no personal feelings in his answers. I told him I would give everything he said some serious thought. Well, before I got home I believed fully that God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit were one. That Jesus was the Messiah (even though I wasn't fully aware of what that entailed, but enough for the moment) and that the Holy Spirit would live inside every man and woman who claimed Jesus as Lord and repented, including me.

This wasn't my first encounter though. I had accepted Jesus at the age of 9 and knew without a doubt that at that moment I was saved. So when he and I started discussing scripture and the One Size Fits All God of Heaven I had concocted (because I had been out to see more of the world and thought I had it all wrapped up and pinned tightly into one neat little package) it wasn't all new to me. But it certainly revived my convictions and threw every other thought I had jumbled together about God out of the window. Since then it has been a roller coaster journey these 40 years but I never got off the tracks again. I have had Paul type moments since then and they have so endeared me to our Lord that I will go to my grave with Him in my heart if I live to be a hundred. Christian isn't a religion. It is knowing that Jesus is Lord.

Why is Christianity the right religion for me?
For the following reasons:

God is the physics. They rule the universe and cannot be defied.

Miracles break the laws of physics, which is impossible. Since they exist, miracles prove the existence of a mind above the physics, which can chance the physics to do the impossible.

Examinable miracles exist, and can be studied forensically.

The entire set of those miracles convey specific religious content, and only two religions have any such miracles at all: Christianity and Bhuddism.

The examinable Bhuddist miracles are the same as some of the examinable Christian miracles: physical incorruptibility of dead saintly figures. Which demonstrates that the God of the physics preferred some aspect of those men's saintliness.

All of the rest of the miracles are Christian. One is Lutheran, and it is of the same kind as the Bhuddist miracle: the incorruption of a saintly dead body.

The rest are Catholic.

Therefore, from a scientific basis Catholicism is the correct religion.

I encountered God through miracles. The other miracles I see out there are Catholic. Therefore, I am Catholic.

Okay, so I'm making an article for my website about why Christianity is the right religion out of all of the religions out there and I'm having a little bit of difficulty with it.

Christianity is not a religion. Religion says "Do". Christ says "Done."

I was wondering how my brothers and sisters came to Christ and why they chose Christ and how they know for sure that Christ is the right religion.

I did not come to Christ. I was dead in my sins against Him [Ephesians 2]. He called me forth from the grave and made me a new creation by His grace. He removed my heart of stone and gave me a heart of flesh that now loves Him and hates my sin. I did not choose Christ Jesus, because there are not God seekers [Romans 3:10-12]. Christ Jesus is correct because He is the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Him. [John 14:6].

God opened my eyes to my sin and depravity and showed me that there is no way to earn favor with Him. Because I was a rebel sinner, an enemy of God. He transformed (and is transforming) my heart to cause me to repent of my sins and surrender my rebellion and throw myself to the foot of the cross, where He took on my sins and granted me His righteousness before the holy Father God. Now I live for Him, not perfectly, but through sanctification, until that day He calls me home or He returns.

Does the Holy Spirit tell you that Christ is the right religion?

Yes, the Holy Spirit has and continues to reveal the truth of God to me.

Were you lead to Christ like I was?

I don't know your story. But probably not in an identical way.

Or was Christ just the logical decision to you?

No. Although the truth of God is completely logical, my salvation came by the grace of God alone, not by a superior logic or intellect or wisdom that I conjure up in myself.

Christianity is the right religion to me because I was lead into Christianity by God. I never once considered other religions. Before I came to Christ I was an Atheist. When I started to slowly believe in God in my late 20's it was Christianity that God lead me to. I believe Christ proved during his journey as a man time and time again that he was not only the Messiah, the Son of God, but also God himself as foretold in the scriptures.

Wonderful testimony!

I also believe that Christianity is the right religion because the Bible as a whole says it is in both the OT and the NT. I believe Jesus to be the God of the Old Testament. I agree!

Actually it is the only way to be reconciled to God. There is no other way or answer for mankind. It is not a matter of being the right one, because it is the only one.
