Father, may this dear one read Job 38-40, and see how Job too had some unanswered questions. May he see that You then gave Job some 60 questions of Your own that Job would not answer. Job was humbled, and had a better understanding of God and himself. May this one come to know that You want to talk to him, and have had a Bible written in order to do that. Help him come to understand how to use his own spirit to communicate with You while reading. Help him to understand how to hear You talking specifically and directly to him at times as he reads the Bible. May Philippians 4:8-9 sink into his mind. I pray that You might guide him to the best church in the area for his particular needs, and also how to take the initiative in making friends, rather than just hoping people will come and make friends with him. I pray that You would work in his father's life, and that he would become a Christian or the Christian he should be and that You would guide his father, and give his father wisdom in how to help his son live as You would have him live. Father, You understand the gist of my prayer, and so I rely on You to "fill in all the gaps" and do a great work in these lives I am praying for. To Your glory. Amen.

Not sure what "religious to the point of ad nauseum" means. Can you expand a little on this?

There is a particular musician we work with at weddings, and we like to recommend her because she is very talented. But if there is alcohol involved in the reception she will turn the job down because of "religious reasons". Jesus's first miracle was turning water into wine at a wedding....duh

You are limiting the love you can have. You've placed a limit on the love of God in your life. You sit ashamed and lonely that God doesn't answer you. You place no trust in him nor respect him. You have a job where you sit and envy what others have. All the while, his answers are already written. You are not asking the right questions. When a heart praises the Lord, when their life reflects what God has done for them, do you really expect the gift of eternal life to look like a worn down pair of shoes that carries a sad face? You have to ask yourself, what is keeping you from the deeper relationship with the Lord?

The only occurs every other weekend, so when I'm not being jealous of someone else, I'm normally playing video games or feeling sorry for myself.
That sounds like your answer to me. Stop sitting on your ass and go do something with your life. How do you expect to have money if you only work every-other weekend? How do you expect to have relationships if you're at home playing video games all day?

You want a straight answer? You are lazy. That's why you have no money and no relationships. No one wants to be friends with or date or marry a lazy guy. Most of your 20s should be full of 60-100 hour work weeks so that you can establish a firm financial future for yourself and only have to work ~40 hours week so you have plenty to spend with a wife, kids, friends, and helping out in your church and community.

You're only 19 now, so you still have plenty of time. Find something you like, and are good at, and start your own business. You may need to get a job as an employee elsewhere while you build your business, which is why you may spend 60, 80, or even 100 hours a week working. Some leisure time is fine, but video games will get you nowhere in life and the more time you waste on them the farther away your goals in life will be.

2 Timothy 2:24-26
"24 The Lord’s bond-servant must not be quarrelsome, but be kind to all, able to teach, patient when wronged, 25 with gentleness correcting those who are in opposition, if perhaps God may grant them repentance leading to the knowledge of the truth, 26 and they may come to their senses and escape from the snare of the devil, having been held captive by him to do his will."

Key word: gentleness.

All of these things are true. My father does not have legal obligation to me, but I'd like to elaborate on my predicament.

My father has worked hard for the past 9 years to create a family owned videography business. While he was filming weddings, I discovered my passion for filmmaking. So I began to contribute to the business more and more as time went on. Now I control 95% of production, that includes filming, editing, sound, color correction, special effects, and finally exporting the video to any platform I choose. My father's name is on the logo, and he corresponds with clients. The main reason he still does correspond with clients is because some people get nervous about writing large checks to a 19 year old. There is also talk about signing the company completely over to me next year. So, in case you wondered, I work my tail off. However, sometimes I get tired of weddings and I'd like a change of pace. Sometimes I wish I worked 80 hours a week at McDonald's simply for a change of scenery. I meet tons of girls at weddings, but inevitably non of them have any interest in me.

I will admit that sometimes my dad gets on my nerves, but he has my best interest in mind. He likes things to go a certain way, and because I care about him I let him boss me around.

If you have any doubts about anything stated above, I encourage you to visit stevefrankfilms.com

Thank you all for your advice and prayers. God bless you.

Just to add a general point - life continually throws up difficult situations, the only thing that really changes, in my experience anyway, is that you gradually get comfortable with your own ability to deal with them. You're doing the right thing by sticking with it, keeping on keeping on as the saying goes. Your ability to frame your own identity and sense of self within your particular situation will take shape as you get older. It's useful to think of difficulties as challenges - even the complicated, confusing, emotionally charged difficulties of everyday life. You might find Marcus Aurelius' 'meditations' useful - he was another hard working guy who essentially set out to treat every situation in his life as a challenge to be mastered. We tend to think of challenges in more dramatic terms, but it's in mastering the everyday challenges that the building of your own identity lies.

First of all I've been saved since I was 7, I'm 19 now.

I've never been nor do I ever want to be religious to the point of ad nauseum. People like that are just doing it for show at that point, and I can't stand it.

Then again I also am not anti-religious, in that I just go around living like a sinner and at the end of the day saying "Hey Jesus loves me anyway".

I've asked God questions over the course of my short life, and he has yet to answer. Many of these questions relate to why other people get certain things I don't, whether it be money, fame, relationships, and freedom to go where I please.

The last is an odd one, mainly because I live with my parents, and my dad likes having his thumb on me. I know he does it because he loves me and doesn't want me to make any bad decisions like he did.

Me and my mom are the only ones that go to Church. She goes to her brother's Church an hour away, and I go to a local one. Which I recently stopped going to. I've only been going to this particular one for about 3 months, and while I enjoy the sermons I also haven't met any friends or people to talk to. Most sundays I go and sit by myself, and then I'll tell the pastor how much I enjoyed the sermon then leave.

I don't normally tell anyone what's going through my head, mainly because I don't want people to see me as a whiner and complainer. But at this point I've started to understand that something is severely mentally wrong with me.

My job is filming weddings. Sometimes I get irritated knowing that my main source of income is creating a compelling and engaging film about someone else living out the best day of their life. The only occurs every other weekend, so when I'm not being jealous of someone else, I'm normally playing video games or feeling sorry for myself.
be a bit more daring and seize the day in life if you would know daring? i would imagine a successful christian in romance who didn't carry jesus christ's and christian bible lessons with them on long amounts of time don't last long in things. you have to be relentless. build a craft is what perhaps you can do. life is what you make it. you must have self pride too if you would know self respect which i think is a virtue. like i said though...if you have a great craft-you won altogether already because you'd look like you have such a stance on you. And faster goes without saying if you succeed in that in terms of having a craft to get respect quickly. remember follow christ's teaching and bible teachings because that lets you move a LOT more blessings and prayers for you to you. if you want to live a good old age deeply satisfied with love, use the lesson of regret as well and stay with your partner. practice you skills. you can therefore then use such spiritual, physical, and mental training applied to life all you like. plenty of people make a living being great in life by showing what you have. with the problem with your father, ask him whatever you need to do to get satisfied to do things without him caring for you too much. you must try! god bless and good luck. tell people who are important to you how you feel. who knows! maybe he'll come around?

God is not there to answer your questions, yes you can ask him, but don't expect an answer you are capable of understanding. If he does answer probably you won't be able to understand him unless you're totally willing to accept his answer, open to it.

I was very glad to read your post. We need more people who are willing to share their opinion without worrying about offending anyone. It's also the internet, so if I was looking for sympathy, posting on an online forum would be the last thing I would do.

Ok lets have a frank discussion and you then decide what your course will be. The christian is one who has gone to God in total brokenness and given himself away to him as a wife gives herself to a husband. The simple conditions of discipleship, die daily to self, love god more than anyone, love God more than anything. It is seeking daily to glorify him and to look for ways to do good to others. Sitting around in front of games is good for little children but its time to be a man. Eternal souls perish all around you and the church is in a backslid and apostate condition. Report to God daily for duty and let nothing get in the way of intimacy with him. Say goodbye to all sin and walk in holiness and righteousness. You find God with your whole heart not half heartedly. The road to heaven is straight and narrow, determine to walk in it or just go follow satan and this effeminate christianity all the way to hell. and waste your life.

Reading all of your posts helps out a lot. Getting as many different opinions as possible is one of the reasons why I like this way of communication. I know there is no perfect answer and that I will have to work everything out for myself, but at least there are other people who have went through these experiences and are kind enough to share their take on my issue.

The answers you seek are in the Bible. I'm not trying to be a smartlect. And it' okay to seek out your role in this life. I offer a suggestion. There's a book entitled ORDINARY by Michael Horton. Pick it up, or check it out of a library. Great insight to our part in God's story.

Good News!

Message: JOHN 3:16

LIFE
WHY?
Through the first human couple, in the Garden of Eden, Adam and Eve, the sentence of death passed upon the entire human race.
>Genesis 2:7 “and man became a living soul/being.”
>Ezekiel 18:4 the word of God states: “the soul that sinneth it shall die.”

Adam and Eve were told by God where they would go;
> Genesis 3:19 “till thou return unto the ground; for out of it thou wast taken; for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.”

> Romans 5:19 “For as by one mans disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.”

HOW?
> John 3:16 “God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son.”
>1 Cor. 15:22-23 “As in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.”
Furthermore in 1 Tim. 2:4-6 it is explained; ”Who will have all men to be saved and come to a knowledge of the truth. For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself a ransom for all, in due time.”
A perfect human life for another perfect human life (a corresponding price) The first life defective and it’s posterity; the “last Adam, a quickening spirit.” The risen Lord Jesus who was “holy, harmless, undefiled and separate from sinners.” “The Word” or “Logos” who was made flesh, and in love and obedience to God his Father “poured out his soul unto death.” Isaiah 53:12 Jesus stated in John 6:51 “and the bread I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.” The ransom-price, the right to life, to be applied in due time.

1 John 2:2 “And he is the propitiation for our sins; and not for ours only, but for the whole world.”

The offer of justification to life as in Romans 5:18 “so by the righteousness of one, upon all men unto justification of life.” on the terms of Romans 10:10 “…believeth unto righteousness.” “…confession unto salvation.” If there is a first resurrection, then there is more than one implied also.
> 1 Cor. 15:38 “…a body as it hath pleased Him.”
>1 Cor. 15:40 “the glory of the celestial is one, the glory of the terrestrial is another.”

WHEN?
Acts 24:15 (“Just and Unjust”)
In Hebrews 11:3 the statement is made that “the worlds (ages) were framed by the word of God.” All human history is shaped by the justice, love, wisdom and power of God; in permitting evil for
THY KINGDOM COME
mans education, and the gift of his son for our redemption!
> Acts 17:31 “he hath appointed a day, in that which
he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained.”
> Daniel 12:2 “Many that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake.” (unconscious aspect of death)
>2 Peter 3:8 “one day with the Lord as a thousand years.”
The “Judgment Day” = is the “Kingdom.”
Jesus stated in John 5:28-29 “All that are in the graves shall hear his voice” “they that have done good, unto a resurrection of life; and they that have done evil unto a resurrection of judgment.” (original meaning in early Greek MSS) NOTE: the location of the dead is clearly stated to be the same before their disposition upon resurrection!
JESUS also include in this resurrection;
>Matt. 12:41-42 “the men of Nineveh shall rise in judgment.” >Matt. 10:15 “more tolerable for the land of Sodom, and Gomorrah.” (Literally)
> Matt. 19:28 “the 12 tribes of Israel.”
Jeremiah 31:16 “from the land of the enemy.”
These all having died in total or relative ignorance, and inherited weakness, prior to the millennial day of judgment!

>Jesus stated again in John 12: 47-48 “if any man hear my words and believe not, I judge him not-the word I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.” >>A resurrection by judgments during the “times of restitution” Acts 3:21. When the true “way of holiness” Isaiah 35:8 will be prepared for mankind! Isaiah 11:9 “shall not hurt or destroy.” Isaiah 26:9 “when thy judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants will learn righteousness.” With Satan bound a 1,000 years!
1 Cor. 15:23 “every man in his own order.”

THE CALL OF OUR PRESENT AGE! John 6:44,65
Acts 15:14-18 “God did at the first visit the Gentiles, to take out of them a people for his name.”>> A spiritual church for his Son; the Christ. (the Spirit and the Bride)
Rev. 22:17. Jesus said: “Deny self and follow me” Matt. 16:24 “ sanctify them through thy truth” >>John 17:17 “ be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life” Rev 2:10. The completion of this “first resurrection” ends this age! THEN-Rev. 21:2 “new Jerusalem coming down out of heaven” >>Acts 7:48 “God dwelleth not in temples made with hands.” Then the “millennial” reign of Christ actually begins!
Psalm 102:18 “the people that shall be created"!!!

>> MESSIAH >> ( WAS/IS) >> A JEW..
( a Hebrew )
♦The only one of the descendants of Abraham who could fulfill, and will fulfill , the old testament prophecies spoken of concerning the Messiah !
Genesis 22:8 ("God will provide himself a lamb"), as stated by Abraham..

( evening"), (the lamb of the Passover).

("offering") (effective forever!").
Deuteronomy 18:15 Moses stated ("the Lord thy God will rise up
*** Unto thee a prophet from the midst of thee…”)
An atonement price, for all time , and effective for those long-dead, would have to be better than that of lambs ,goats, and cattle! >>>Please note ; the tabernacle picture in Leviticus 16 is ongoing , through-out human history until the present time; this culminates ,and merges into the temple picture narrated by Solomon ! ***Then Messiah’s king dom actually begins !
***Daniel 9:26 >> ("shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself!").Note the satisfaction for sins completed in this scripture!
Isaiah 11:1 >> ("a rod out of the stem of Jesse")
Isaiah 42: all >> ("give thee for a covenant of the people").
***Isaiah 53:7 >> ("he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter")
Isaiah 53:8 >> ("for the transgression of my people")...
Micah 5;2 >> (" shall he come forth unto me to be ruler in Israel")! ">>> 4:8 (" 0 tower of the flock")

A spiritual king, to restore and accomplish the fulflllment of the promises made to Israel by God, his Father !!!
Genesis 15:15 >> ("for all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it and to thy seed forever!"). This promise will be realized soon!

Then Israel’s "judges" will be restored “ as at the first “ (Isaiah 1:26) (Abraham , Isaac, Jacob, David, with many others! >>> See Ezekiel 36:11( “do better unto you than at your beginnings”), >>(to answer Moses’ prayer, in Psalms 90,) >>>*Ezek.36:26(“new heart”),>> Ezek.36:31(“then shall ye remember your own evil ways”), That generation! Literally! They will be resurrected to earth,>> in the fulfillment of Ezekiel 37 (“the whole house of Israel”)>>> the “6 million+ lost in the Holocaust generation also!! >>> This is echoed in many of the Prophets’ statements ;>> * Jeremiah 31:1 (“at the same time”),>>*Jeremiah 31:27 (“I will sow the house of Israel and the house of Judah with the seed of man, and the seed of beast.”) Jeremiah will get his land !* .( Jer.32:11),>( *Isaiah 29:23 (“when he (Abraham) seeth his children, the work of my hands, in the midst of him”)!>>>*Isaiah 33:24 (“the inhabitant shall not say I am sick: the people that dwell therein shall be forgiven their iniquity!”)
The population of earth is blessed in order !>> >*Zechariah 8:22 (“ all languages of the nations”),>> to a fair trial for eternal life, under wonderful conditions!> See* Isaiah 35:all! >>>*Isaiah 65:20(“ as a child a sinner shall die an hundred years old”), the minimum age,( when decided), on the way to eternal life..You will be there! >>See *Isaiah 51:3(“wilderness like Eden”), 51:6(“my salvation shall be forever”),>>and* Isaiah 25:7(“destroy in this mountain the face of the covering cast over all people”)..vs.8 (“He will swallow up death in victory”)!
These scriptures all apply to natural Israel , as well as the spiritual nation..>>>*Psalms 104:30-31(“Thou sendest forth thy spirit, they are created, and thou renewest the face of the earth”..(“the glory of the Lord shall endure forever: the Lord shall rejoice in his works!")

Currently, you seem kinda grumpy. The Almighty doesn't do "attitude." You are coming across as if He owes you an answer, and on your terms. No, as I said, He doesn't do attitude. He may or may not show mercy to us if we indulge in that. He does warn us not to grumble and complain against Him, however. That kept the Israelites wandering in the wilderness for 40 years.

If you want out of your own wilderness, here is some more advice from the Bible "Humble yourself in the sight of YHWH" aka God "and in due time He will lift you up....Those who exalt themselves will be humbled and those who humble themselves will be exalted."

OP... I've read your original post... And I don't know exactly what your question is...

If you are asking why God doesn't give straight answers, it's because He wants us to walk by faith and not by sight. Blessed are those who never witnessed Him yet believed in Him anyway. That is a sign of true faith. You have to think of it as a sort of hidden blessing, where God gave you the opportunity to express your faith in a world full of nonbelievers.

Faith is a courageous and admirable thing.
