I just posted another thread about this very thing confirming the spying happened and they still were saying Trump lied. More is about to come out regarding this matter.

Maybe ... but more details on why the Trump team was talking to people under FBI surveillance might not be the kind of news his administration needs.

Nunes described the surveillance as most likely being “incidental collection.” This can occur when a person inside the United States communicates with a foreign target of U.S. surveillance. In such cases, the identities of U.S. citizens are supposed to be kept secret — but can be “unmasked” by intelligence officials under certain circumstances.
Nunes said that he could recognize certain speech patterns. Maybe Trump was "bigly" impressed by what the Russian spies were talking about?

Curiously, I don't recall you being so incensed when the New York Times, CNN and others were all providing snippets from what they called wire-tapped communications of Trump.
Probably because CNN and others were not tweeting lies about Obama wiretapping their offices.

Can you link to the post where you showed the proof of that, bc I asked you directly for your "legit sources" & never saw them. Maybe I overlooked it. All I saw was you trying to say that if there were any Muslims who celebrated, then his claim that he saw thousands was true. You lied to me so that's why when you say anything now I ask for you to back it up with sources.

From the link in the OP it doesn't hold up that Obama as a "bad or sick man" put a "tapp" on Trump. Glad that CNN is no longer considered to be fake news around here though! :D
There were lots of Moslems celebrating on 9/11. It was all over the news and helped stoke our fury at what had happened to us.

This whole thing is sick. And CBS, those dogs. After Comey, before this they actually said Trump is disturbed, that he may believe his lies, he's so disconnected. Talking about the PreZ I helped elect. Calling him crazy. This will back fire.
Well, they aren't wrong about Trump.

I'm not understanding why Trump's people consider this a "win" in any way. It's made 100% clear that no one on his team were wiretapped or surveilled in any way.

Rather, the US was surveilling a known Russian intelligence operative. I should hope that we're all ok with foreign spies being subject to surveillance. During that mission, they record all the calls that the known foreign intelligence operative receives. The known foreign intelligence operative has calls from members of the Trump team during the campaign.

That's what incidental collection is. Shouldn't everyone be super concerned that members of the Trump campaign were having telephone calls with a known Russian intelligence operative?

So we know at the end of the day: 1) No one had a wiretap on Trump or his team. 2) No one on Trump's team was subject to surveillance by any intelligence agency. 3) Trump's team were in contact with a known foreign intelligence operative.

And perhaps most importantly, Trump's now the President. If any wiretaps did exist, he has 100% authority to disclose them. Tomorrow he could call up Justice and say "Release all wiretaps, requests for wiretaps, and orders for wiretaps issued against me, the Trump organization, or anyone in my campaign" and it would be done. If his allegations are true he can 100% prove it, with next to no effort... but he doesn't. Because he can't. Because he's making it all up.

Noting that everything Comrade Putin does is "legal".
Comrade Putin isn't POTUS.... yet. You don't see his lips move when President Trump Tweets.

Also worth pointing out Trump is generally off-the-cuff and was using Twitter, which has a 140 character limit.
Also worth pointing out that the words of a President have power even during an early morning potty Tweet.

True, but that doesn't have anything to do with the fact that people are purposely taking the comment in the most literal way possible .

How are we supposed to know when the President is being truthful? He tells bold faced lies in speeches interviews and Tweets.

Yes, but Trump's claim is that there were a number of them celebrating in New Jersey and it was on the news that they were. Nobody, as far as I'm aware, has been able to find such footage. This is a statement about an event that occurred in a specific place and that it was seen on a specific medium. It wasn't a general statement about Muslims celebrating, which I did see particularly among hte Palestinians. Instead of doing what a normal person would do and say that they were mistaken about the details, Trump dug in and kept insisting he saw it.

Now, I'm sure someone's going to come along and say I'm just taking it too literally. So I've decided whenever a Christian attempts to convert me to Christianity, I'm just going to tell them that they take the New Testament and Jesus too literally.

IOW Trump made up some balony and his followers swallowed it whole.
