I've been struggling with sleep again after I got badly triggered last week and had to increase my meds to stay afloat. Feeling rather downish and unmotivated from my anti-psychotics more and more as the energy of the high is evaporating. Lets hope sleep will not wait too long in coming back. Even sleeping tablets are not helping at the moment, such a pain!

Had nightmares again last night (after they had gone away for a while). I woke up from some of them and had anxiety because of them.

I hated the nightmares a lot but ever since I began taking my meds more faithfully I don't get nightmares any more, and catch much more sleep as well. No dreams whatsoever so that is handy.

I'm not on any meds at the moment, but when I have taken them I tend to get more nightmares and vivid dreams. :\

I'm doing okay right now, but felt myself going on a downward spiral earlier. I prayed to God and the spiral seems to have stopped!

What I'm feeling right now? All sorts of emotions... This forum is my last hope. First of all English isn't my native language so if there's any grammar mistakes or unclear ideas I'm sorry.

Depression, as a diagnosis is something new for me, I've been extremely sad over 6 months and just a week ago I was diagnosed with depression. I've been taking my meds faithfully, they also gave me sleep meds because of insomnia. I have so much hurt and guilt in my heart, and Jesus is my last hope, I just can't anymore... I feel destroyed, broken, hurt, useless, not worth of anything and I want to find peace, I want God to help me. I fall asleep praying and crying each night for him to fill my heart, to help me forgive and have peace with him, but I'm just in the same place or maybe even hurting more and I don't know what I'm doing wrong...

I'm glad you came around. Many of us who come here regularly have been where you are now. I was in the pit once for 7 years straight others made it even longer. Many still suffer from depression but have healed enough to survive and bring glory to God helping, loving and praying for other people hurting.

Their is hope. This forum has many supporting people who love and care for those hurting. The best is to keep coming around and get to know us better and find support on a daily basis as we do ourselves as well. You are most welcome.

and also no sleep aid. i did hear valerian root is good, but i heard that herbs can be dangerous.

I am going crazy and just plain edgy. The house is a mess and former roommate is moving in and so there is stuff every where, and I'm like o.m.g. I want to scream. They are bringing round 2 of furniture and I hope that's it so we can start to get some normalcy and can walk around the house some without tripping over stuff. Please pray that I can handle this I just want to crawl into a dark hole and hide till its over .... ugh..!

Ginger is an anti-inflammatory and relaxer that helps you sleep, so you can make tea at night and maybe this will help with that part. Another thing you can do is inhale vapor with eucalyptus droplets, this helps to open up the airways and remove the secretions. If you do not have a vaporizer, you can boil water on the stove, then grab a towel and cover your head so that the you inhale the steam, be sure to add the droplets of eucalyptus after you boil the water, try to take as much steam as you can, if you feel it is too hot, back away for a moment and then try again. I suggest you keep your eyes closed.

Hope this helps in case you don't have any meds. Be sure to take vitamins so you can protect as much as you can your immune system.

Valerian root is commonly used by a lot of people and benefits some. I'm allergic to it - it keeps me awake with a pounding and racing heart for hours on end - if you can handle night flu tablets you most likely can cope with Valerian root. About it being dangerous, it is far less dangerous than psych medications after all they have to put that in a black box because it is so dangerous, in perspective I wouldn't worry too much about using herbs. Always try a little first to see how you respond, I know I forget that one all the time as well.
