It's a manner of speaking. using tools like a Ouija board you alert them of your presence.

Why do you ask?Are there any other parlor games that are capable of alerting them to your presence?
Where did the Maniac of Gadara get his strength? The use of anthropomorphic terms like "awakened" and "alert them of your presence" can be misleading IMO. It denies the role of the human passions in sin, and thus the demonic, and is thus arguably soteriologically unsound.

I always thought he was possessed by many demons. Wasn't that where Jesus called them out and they went into a heard of swine and ran off a cliff?Where did the Maniac of Gadara get his strength?
Mark 5:1 And they came over unto the other side of the sea, into the country of the Gadarenes.
Mark 5:2 And when he was come out of the ship, immediately there met him out of the tombs a man with an unclean spirit,
Mark 5:3 Who had his dwelling among the tombs; and no man could bind him, no, not with chains:
Mark 5:4 Because that he had been often bound with fetters and chains, and the chains had been plucked asunder by him, and the fetters broken in pieces: neither could any man tame him.

Yes.I always thought he was possessed by many demons. Wasn't that where Jesus called them out and they went into a heard of swine and ran off a cliff?
We are all sinners, but you still must have the desire to contact the spirit world to have any dirrect dealings with them, don't you? I'm I mistaken in this?
Okay.Obviously, he was posessed by a demon. My objection is over the language you use to describe demonaic activity, which I fear implies, perhaps unwittingly, that demons are not continually aware of our presence; that they are "alerted" by sin, as opposed to we ourselves opening up to an existi sinful presence through dabbling in the occult or otherwise indulging the passions.
Thank you, my friend. You know what is surprising that movies have made the occult so attractive as the new forbidden fruit and they have no idea the evil they are romanticizing.Yes.
Some 2000.
Now you sound like an empiricist. There is no "spirit world."
That would be like paying prostitues for wages lost sitting in jail.Do you think Jesus manned-up and paid the pig farmer for the 2,000 pigs he destroyed?
Absolutely!Thank you, my friend. You know what is surprising that movies have made the occult so attractive as the new forbidden fruit and they have no idea the evil they are romanticizing.
I've heard the name Legion, used in several movies and it's simply mind boggling how they disregard the spiritworld.
But what if the pig farmer was a Gentile? Do you think Jesus and his boys would have ponied up for the 2,000 destroyed animals? That would be like paying prostitues for wages lost sitting in jail.
Did you notice where the maniac was from?
The country of the Gadarenes?
Wasn't Gad a tribe of Israel?
And wasn't pig farming off limits to the Israelites?
Now you sound like an empiricist.
A scientist.
You're denying the largest part of reality in existence.
What's this then?
2 Kings 6:17 And Elisha prayed, and said, LORD, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the LORD opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.
No.But what if the pig farmer was a Gentile? Do you think Jesus and his boys would have ponied up for the 2,000 destroyed animals?
I have never heard that sin leads to any activity with demons. Where do you get this from, so I can read up on it?Yes.
There is no "spirit world." You have direct dealings with demons each time you sin. Of course, inviting them to converse with you using a Ouija Board just invites new levels of demonic delusion.
Ultimately it must be understood that yielding to the passions, to sin, to demonic activity, is a self-destructive act that is inherently self-deceptive.
