In today's lingo, was Joseph sold to a child trafficking ring?

Sold to the gentiles.

It only shows what would happen when Jesus came, he was sold to gentiles, and he is with the gentiles.

He went into a far country and his family do not know if he is dead or alive but he becomes ruler of the greatest gentile nation where all of its people are saved by him, and are ruled by him.

He wasn't just the son of David, He was also the son of Joseph and this is why the scripture shows him coming as Ephraim, the son of Joseph.

He is the son of David and he is David.
He is the son of Joseph and he is Joseph.

Matthew 2:15--
And was there until the death of Herod: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Out of Egypt have I called my son.
16 Then Herod, when he saw that he was mocked of the wise men, was exceeding wroth, and sent forth, and slew all the children that were in Bethlehem, and in all the coasts thereof, from two years old and under, according to the time which he had diligently enquired of the wise me.
17 Then was fulfilled that which was spoken by Jeremy the prophet, saying,
18 In Rama was there a voice heard, lamentation, and weeping, and great mourning, Rachel weeping for her children, and would not be comforted, because they are not.

Jeremiah 31--Who are Rachels children that Matthew is talking of?
“A voice is heard in Ramah,
mourning and great weeping,
Rachel weeping for her children
and refusing to be comforted,
because they are no more.”

16This is what the Lord says:
“Restrain your voice from weeping
and your eyes from tears,
for your work will be rewarded,”
declares the Lord.
“They will return from the land of the enemy.
17So there is hope for your descendants,”
declares the Lord.
“Your children will return to their own land.

18“I have surely heard Ephraim’s moaning:
‘You disciplined me like an unruly calf,
and I have been disciplined.
Restore me, and I will return,
because you are the Lord my God.

Calling Ephraim.
1“When Israel was a child, I loved him,
and out of Egypt I called my son.
2But the more they were called,
the more they went away from me.a
They sacrificed to the Baals
and they burned incense to images.
3It was I who taught Ephraim to walk,
taking them by the arms;
but they did not realize
it was I who healed them.
4I led them with cords of human kindness,
with ties of love.
To them I was like one who lifts
a little child to the cheek,
and I bent down to feed them.

That doesn't change the country which they identify with. They are all seeking the same one that is Abraham's bosom. Joseph was always known as a Jew. He never identified with the Egyptians. Just lived there and worked there.

Oh,

When Israel was brought into Egypt, they came into a covenant and that's why that God had to get Pharaoh to let them go.

He could have taken them himself but they came into a contract that had to be dissolved.

Joseph being sold into slavery bound him also.

Jesus likewise was thrown into a pit{death where there was no water} and rejected by his brethren.

Jesus then becomes the ruler of gentiles because he was sold into the hands of gentiles when they priced him at 30 pieces of silver.

It has always been that the seed has lived next to gentiles but they never became one.

Israel lived next to the Jews but they would never become one and that was the problem.

Israel had an entire different worship system of Pagan Gods and it kept them apart from Judah, and it made them, not the people of God.

Ephraim and Judah represent the same body and the prophecies show that one day they would become the same body representing two parts of what a person is.

Joseph was not recognized by his brethren because he looked like a gentile and spoke as a gentile being ruler of a gentile nation having two gentile sons.

It will be the same in the end when Joseph is finally recognized by his brethren.

It will be after the demand to produce Benjamin.

That Benjamin is the third part and Benjamin is in both Kingdoms.

This is the child who is to rule, the beloved of the Lord.

To bring out Benjamin out of Israel.

To bring out the Benjamin in all of us.

Why was Judah not carrying Jacob's name anymore?

Judah does carry the name,'' Israel.''

But in very many places ''Israel'' is used to speak of the kingdom of Ephraim alone.

Sometimes the name Israel does reference Judah but in most cases, Judah and Israel is two very different distinct people. One followed God and the other didn't.

It's this lumping together that so many replacement theories come from.

I have seen countless of Christians against Jews take what is said of the kingdom of Ephraim trying to place it on the heads of Judah making a debate that God is through with Judah, that God had done to Judah what he had done to Israel.

Just like in the case of Elijah where many Christians would point and say,'' Look how these Jews acted, These Jews who worshipped other Gods, those JEZEBELS!''

When in fact, Judah was not there at all.

I've seen countless of Christians taking Hosea and putting the guilt of the kingdom of Ephraim on the heads of Jews when it couldn't be further from the truth.

Judah still walked with their God, Ephraim did not.

You have to be able to know the difference between the two because their prophecies are two separate distinct prophecies. For instance.

Zechariah 10.
“I will strengthen Judah{just this scripture is about Judah, the rest is about Ephraim.''}

and save the tribes of Joseph.
I will restore them
because I have compassion on them.
They will be as though
I had not rejected them,
for I am the Lord their God
and I will answer them.
7 The Ephraimites will become like warriors,
and their hearts will be glad as with wine.
Their children will see it and be joyful;
their hearts will rejoice in the Lord.
8 I will signal for them
and gather them in.
Surely I will redeem them;
they will be as numerous as before.
9 Though I scatter them among the peoples,
yet in distant lands they will remember me.
They and their children will survive,
and they will return.
10 I will bring them back from Egypt
and gather them from Assyria.

Zechariah continues showing a distinction about Judah when he says.

7 “The Lord will save the dwellings of Judah first, so that the honor of the house of David and of Jerusalem’s inhabitants may not be greater than that of Judah.

God comes to the Jews first so that nobody can boast against them.

Now back to child trafficking. For those children who get caught up in this osrrendous business, may they be blessed like Joseph and not let the past scar up their future.

Yes, it is quite astounding how many children go missing (kidnapped and held captive against their will) and are believed to be dead by their families, just like Yosef's situation. ...Or...some even placed into captivity by their own families, as well.

So unfortunate that it occurs...

Children of child trafficking are sold into slavery... sex slavery... etc.
And the Lord took that seriously then just like he does today - enough to make a command on the issue long after Joseph died:

Exodus 21:16
“He who kidnaps a man and sells him, or if he is found in his hand, shall surely be put to death.
Exodus 21:15-17

True, sometimes they are but I see no evidence in the Bible that Joseph was sold into sex trafficking. Also, Joseph wasn't a child when he was sold, but 17 years old, which is pretty much a grown man.

Where do you get he was 17? Never said Joseph was sold into sex slavery... not that it wasn't done back in those days... think concubines.
