Hey everyone! I was wondering if anyone could recommend to me any good study Bibles that are good for someone interested in Reformed Biblical teachings. I am hoping sometime in the future I may be able to get a study Bible, and I was considering the NASB MacArthur Study Bible. Anyone have any thoughts? Thanks!

I have the John MacArthur Study Bible NKJV and have really loved it, learning much from the notes that are readily visible as I read the text. Then, if I need further information I will consider other reference works but it is just great to have those reformed notes right there as I read! My questions are most usually answered in the notes. I've made numerous trips trough this bible and have received much benefit each trip!
Blessings on whatever you choose, that our Lord will use it to enlighten your path!

I can't thank you all enough for the recommendations! I praise God for a group of believers like yourselves. I think that the Reformers Bible or the MacArthur Study Bible are the best choices I know of, but in the end I'm just looking for sound Biblical teaching, and from all that I know, the Reformers view seems to be the most Biblical. Thanks for the guidance everyone!

I've decided to more closely examine any study Bible I'd possibly look into, I'm a bit afraid that any Bible could have twisted or wrong notes on certain Scriptures. Thanks for the recommendations again everyone, I've looked into the Macarthur and Reformation Study Bible, so I guess we'll see....

If you can wait Crossway has produced an excellent ESV Study Bible http://www.esvstudybible.org/

I've heard some great things about the ESV Study Bible; one of its foremost proponents was none other than John Piper. And I think I may wait a while for a study Bible now, I've been back and forth on it, but I think the the ESV SB, Reformation SB are def. among the frontrunners for a possible future purchase.

The Spirit of the Reformation Study Bible - NIV is good. Although I prefer the ESV.

I would also highly recommend The Reformation Study Bible-ESV. I really like the notes. They have been really helpful, especially since I attend a non-Reformed church and I want a second opinion.

I have both The Spirit of the Reformation Study Bible and the Reformation Study Bible - NKJV (once the New Geneva Study Bible)

The basic "helps" are the same in both formats, the thing I really like about the Spirit of the Reformation Bible (NIV) is the fact that in addition to the helps it includes multiple confessions (Belgic, Canons of Dort, Heidelberg, Westminster - Larger and Shorter).

There are only two "Reformed" Study Bibles that I am aware of and both have been mentioned:

1) ESV Reformation Study Bible (formerly NKJV)
2) NIV Spirit of the Reformation Study Bible

I have copies of both and they are quite good. However if we extend this to Study Bibles friendly to Reformed Theology (ie: They don't contradict or declare Calvinism heresy) there are a couple of others which are worth considering:

1) NIV Study Bible (NASB as well but this has not been updated.)
2) NASB Quick Study Bible

I would personally avoid the Life Application Study Bible. there are things about it that are good but the way passages such as John 6 and Ephesians 1 are treated is enough reason to avoid it from a Reformed perspective.

I just compared the online excerpts of the ESV Study Bible with my "ESV Reformation Study Bible." There's not much different, it seems to me...

I suspect that is partially because JI Packer was the Theological Editor for the ESVSB and also had a hand in the ESV RSB.

There are likely other reasons though...
