I watch that show ever so often when I'm at my laptop here and it happens to be on T.V. I must say, though, that would be a very bittersweet position to be in (coming from a guy's point of view). Supposing I were in the guy's shoes, I'd have all these real pretty women who want me, but then I'd also have to be a major heart breaker by rejecting all but one of these young ladies (And for that, I'd feel terrible).

I think it's dreadful. Twenty-five women humiliating themselves, begging a man they hardly know to love them and marry them!

It reminds me of:
And in that day seven women shall take hold of one man, saying, "We will provide our own food and our own clothes; Only marry us and let us be called by your name, because we are ashamed of our singleness." Isaiah 4:1

It talks about a day when women would be so desparate to marry that they compete for men! It looks like that day is here!

Yes, it is pretty silly. :sigh: I know that in general, they are probably just caught up with the excitement and competition, but they probably don't even realize that!

Jedi, I think the bachelor feels just the way you describe. He seems to be enjoying it but hating it at the same time. It would be a terrible position to be in. And how could he possibly know if he is making the right decision? You can't get to know someone that quickly and especially when everyone is acting for the camera as well as for their potential mate!

I know it is really a dumb show, but I do get caught up in the romance. Also, I think this bachelor seems to be looking for a more wholesome type of girl than the last one did (maybe) and that appeals to me.

You kind of get into it when you see their personalities and how they relate to each other. I do hope they don't actually decide to get married yet. The last bachelor had enough sense not to jump into something and I hope this one does too.

If your looking for someone to marry, then really your only objective is to find some that is walking as close to God as you can manage to find. Of course they are going to be doing the same thing, so we can only hold ourselves back by not being all that God is wanting and calling us to be.

Then in the marriage it is not what he wants or what she wants, it is what God wants. Then everything will work out fine, because God is a part of it. He puts His love in us, and that is far more than the love people have apart from God.

Those of you who watch, do you think it will be Brooke or Helene?

I think it will be Helene, though Brooke has been my favorite since she testifies that she is a Christian. (I know, some things make you wonder about her priorities.) But Helene seems like a good wholesome girl and may be a Christian, but not as outspoken.

I heard that the Bachelor said that he didn't sleep with any of them (unlike the last bachelor.)

These are friendly, competent, capable, well educated women. I think it is the bar room bimbos with the tatoo's all over them that make women look bad.

I can't stand it......plain and simple. I wouldn't go do a show like that to meet one man who is going to make out with every woman on there right in front of me, touch, grope, whatever. Then "dismiss" girls one by one and break their hearts. It's not worth my time if you ask me. I want a REAL man, not some guy who wants his 15 minutes of fame.........PUHLEEZE...

I'm glad I have a REAL man.

:( I have never watched a "Bachelor" episode.....until last night :sigh: ..... the whole concept of this show goes against everything I believe in when it comes to love and romance. Now I am not going make excuses as to why I watched this last episode, however I will say that I find it quite disheartening to see these people go to such silly lengths to find love. It makes me sick to see these women pawning after this one man......as if there weren't any other quality men out there! It was equally disheartening to see a distressed Brooke crying out that this was the "perfect" man for her....and that she will never meet another man like him. OH CRY ME A RIVER!! I mean, come on! How can you really KNOW someone after 6 weeks? Especially someone who dated and kissed 12 different women in those six weeks? AND someone who was perpetually comparing you with other women? How can you "fall in love" with someone like that? It makes me sick because women are so obviously portrayed as objects in this show; and it also saddens me to see these women subject themselves to this atrocity! I have so much more to say, but I think I will stop here. (Oh yeah, I also heard that there will be a "Bachelorette" show coming out as well...... :( - my sentiments are equally the same with regards this as well. WOMEN and MEN should not be treated as objects!!!!)

I think any women who would compete for a man make all women look bad, and desparate! Imagine being so hard up for a date that you'll go on a show with 25 other women and try to make yourself look like the best one. It's like going to a livestock auction, but with women.

What a shame that they con't come up with better TV shows than this kind of thing.
