Roman Catholics are the only ones who believe in "transubstantiation," but it is not really a doctrine so much as it is an attempt to explain the Real Presence, which is the actual doctrine. Anglicans and Methodists both "officially" believe in the Real Presence, but rank and file members are largely ignorant of it, especially in the U.S. Lutherans believe in something called "consubstantiation," but I am not familiar enough with their tradition to know exactly what that means.

The consummatory "event" of the ages is the marriage supper of the Lamb (Revelation 19:9). Thus, the true "signs" of Jesus' return are a piece of bread and a cup of wine. In the Eucharist, we are already participating in the new heaven and the new earth, for Christ is present in our midst with all the saints, martyrs, Apostles, angels, archangels and the whole company of heaven. Gathered at the Lord's Table, we are "in touch" with the "end," the final outcome of history, the Parousia, the personal, transforming, redeeming presence of Christ in the midst of God's new creation.

Whatever happened to the one that started this thread?? It appears that you Preterists are doing a bit of recruiting here, huh?? You have turned off almost every member of this forum with your "doctrine of demons". Have you even noticed that everyone is gone again?? The more you gather around yourselves those who want to hear what their itching ears want to hear, the more everybody else disappears. Is this your plan, not again?? I guess this is the only forum that will tolerate this nonsense??

Don't you Preterists know that you are a fulfillment of endtime prophecy?? Yeah - Check it out - 2 Pet.3:3.

You scoffers are following your own evil desires. What's the mission this time, division of the brethren?? The more things change, the more they stay the same

You would be wise to look at these verses, Romans 8:23-25.           But then again, I forgot, none of you have eyes to see, or at least not spiritual ones. How long will you keep tripping over the truth?? Don't you get tired of going to churches that the Spirit has left?? What a waste of time, sitting in a dead church. It seems that you get more enjoyment out of running true believers off. But still, even after all of these signs, you still haven't a clue.

Dear brother,

I think your attitude towards preterists were completely unnecessary. Just look at what you're saying about your fellow brethen in Christ! I wasn't attempting to tear apart your views. I said nothing about it. You've made a false assumption.

Patmosman's statement about the Eucharist has nothing to do with preterism. And if you haven't noticed patmosman isn't the same type of preterist I am (he believes in the future coming of Christ).

Please do not jump to conclusions thinking that we're here to recruit anyone. Also, I'll remove that link I listed on a previous post...

...I heard people talking about the return of Jesus just being a "heart beat" away. What are the signs, and where did you get them from?...
In 2 Thessalonians 2:1-8, I believe Paul makes clear that two signs -- the apostasy and the abomination of desolation -- must occur before the day Jesus comes to gather us together, for Jesus' coming to gather us together must destroy the Antichrist (verse 8). I believe Paul is referring to the same coming and gathering together as Matthew 24:29-31. I don't believe Paul taught a 3rd coming or a 2nd rapture.
