    Mis-conceptions about Patristic Universalism

Hi :) what is elevator theology? .... I think that evil can be overcome with love and truth, but perhaps not in ways that we will see imediately. I can't speak for Paul, but maybe he thought this was an ideal way to live, but was working towards it ... like a journey to get better at it rather...

    Mis-conceptions about Patristic Universalism

It is important to note for those who want to, so I guess you are not one of them. :D

    Traditions teach a cruel God

I never thought of it that way Dave. That's a good point that makes sense. It would be why Jesus told us to love, because he stated the truth that reflected his fathers will that we should love. Love is the remedy to our spiritual illness, and Jesus spoke of it because it is true. What you said...

    Traditions teach a cruel God

I read it as everlasting destruction of the body (death). But msmorality has pointed to other verses that indicate our spirits will be corrected over time. There is no eternal torment for sure. The concept was unknown, especially to the OT writers.

    Near Death Expereinces(NDE)

I've thought of that as well, but reading through the near death website has made me change my mind.

    Traditions teach a cruel God

I thought exegesis was a critical analogy of text: ex·e·ge·sis (ks-jss) n. pl. ex·e·ge·ses (-sz) Critical explanation or analysis, especially of a text. [Greek exgsis, from exgeisthai, to interpret : ex-, ex- + hgeisthai, to lead; see sg- in Indo-European roots.]

    Traditions teach a cruel God

I agree wth what you are saying here. Much of the bible was written with poetic expressions that religins read literally, and with many different interpretations. Much of it is based on conceptual interpretation, like the parable of the sower, the Rich man and Lazerus, ripping out our eye if it...

    Traditions teach a cruel God

I think they are when they are brought into action from motivations that are selfless acts of will to benefit others. This is love, that was given to us first by God.

    Traditions teach a cruel God

Hi :) I think that our salvation hinges only on the Grace of God. Our faith is the vehicle that transports God's grace, and our faith is dependent on our trust that we have in God. This trust is only viable, because God can be trusted. 1. He loves us beyond measure and proved this throught the...

That was very infromative, thank you :) ... Do you think all spirits return to God, while evil and flesh is destroyed?

    Traditions teach a cruel God

Hi :) I think that Jesus paid the price for the required punishment of sins. I don't really think of it as punishment, but the truth that the consquence of wrong actions (sin) will reap distruction (punishment). Jeus came to provide the necesarry sacrifice of his life, so he took all the...

    Traditions teach a cruel God

The second one seems to make more sense... but I am not God, lol. Are their any scriptures that would indicate they could be corrected instead of annihilated? Can spirits be destroyed? I don't know if I am right, but I think that Jesus paid the price for complete annihilation, for everyone...

    Traditions teach a cruel God

Thank yor for the reply :) Will their spirits be desroyed also? Can spirits be destroyed or are they a part of God that is eternal? Do you think that God may reincarnate people, letting them learn through many lifetimes, correcting their spirits? Sorry to ask so many questions, but I think there...
