    Worst Movies Ever...

When I read the title to this thread, only one thing came to mind: Mars Attacks We actually saw this in theater.

when being quiverfull clashes with self

I know what you mean, but I don't think I can really give any advice here. (We've made some decisions that take us out of the strictly quiverfull category and I don't want to influence you in that direction - at least not in the QF forum) I hope you do get some support from the other members here.

    James MacDonald

I don't guess you mean this guy? He's pretty decent. I don't know the James McDonald that came up on google.

    Headcovering

Very interesting reading here. (I cover because the Bible tells me so.) This is an old thread or I'd be giving reps to several of the posts... You guys are great.

    Diaper bag vs. purse?

I have had diaper bags in the past. I carried a separate diaper bag and a purse, then I used one pocket of the diaper bag for my "purse" stuff, and now I've switched to using a regular backpack. It has a HUGE pocket in the back, big enough for a changing pad, extra clothes, and any special...

    More money, more kids?

I completely disagree with this! What amount of "stuff" will make up for the love of children or siblings? DH's official salary was under 40K last year, and we don't live frugally by any means, and have no trouble. People just have their priorities wrong.

    closely spaced children

My best advice is to not just "hope" they get along, but "expect" them to. When I was 8 and my baby brother was due, my dad gave us this talk about how we might feel jealous, and all the attention the new baby would need, blah blah. When our children are told about a new baby, we tell them how...

    anyone else?

I had my 6th child 2 weeks before my 30th birthday. All single births, though people are always asking if some are twins. The closest together any of them are is 14 months. I wonder how many we'd had if I'd known what I know now when I first got married. :)

If you have kids who are 3 years apart exactly...

I have a few in the 3 year gap range. The oldest set are 9 and almost 6. They were best friends until the older one learned to read, which made the younger feel "left out" and so she started playing more with her little brother. Then I have a 4 year old and a 1 year old. Big brother really...

    Question

I do always wear skirts, but a lot of people don't. It's my aim to be clearly female and clearly modest at the same time. I hate not being able to tell a person's gender from any distance or angle. ;)

    Good & Evil comic book

I think it's a good idea. (We got one for free.) I've only read a little bit of it, and I disagreed with some of the interpretation, so I don't highly recommend it. But I'd have to read more before I could say I 'don't' recommend it. You know? I'm not sure if it's mostly good, and I just...

What rules do you and your spouse have?

I had a LOOOng list, but it disappeared. Maybe God is telling me to use discretion. In short, we've never sat down and made rules, saying we can or cannot do certain things. But there is a very real code of conduct that I live by in my relationship with DH, and I'm sure he has his own mental...

Sea World with a 5 year old...

I've only been to Sea World San Antonio, which is the biggest one, but it is HUGE (spread out). If they go on walks regularly, and he's a trooper, it should be fine. You do sit for the shows. But SW does allow wagons and things, and if they want to bring swim gear, or do shopping, it would be...

    HPV Vaccine

Not to derail, and I only ask because I want to know... How is this vaccine different than the others? I mean, most states "require" any number of vaccines, and we think that is fine, but we get all riled up on this one. I personally decided to not vaccinate my children anymore at all. We...

Mom Faces Trial for leaving her child in the car

The police officer was totally out of line. How safe were the children with the mother in handcuffs? Did they load all 3 in the police car, or make them stand out in the rain? I'd be tempted to sue for emotional distress on behalf of each family member! 5 minutes in the cold is WAY...
