I don't think you really choose your friends (but, to some extent, can choose not to be friends). Who you end up having friendship with occurs without your control.

Was a busy day for me. After the service, I was making mulled wine for the student Christmas lunch (just under 30 people) before we went out for the lunch which lasted most of the afternoon, before going to the evening service and then a prayer group (with pizza!) after the service.
